A Place 🤍 for The Girl Next Door ☕️🌷

"Many Literotica readers (and authors) shared with us that they visit the site on their phones and would prefer not to have NSFWs images on the screen while someone else is looking over their shoulder. Other members told us there are so many sites on the internet with photos and videos that they would prefer Literotica remain a haven for text - the original intent when the site was launched more than a quarter century ago."

That's the official explanation from Manu. No one on Lit seems to be taking it seriously, and there is a whole 20 page thread where Litsters have said so.

Your explanation makes far more sense, and the consensus seems to be that it's the main reason for the change. Plus, images take up lots of server space, and there are issues around copyright and consent ("pics of my wife" crap).

It doesn't really affect or bother me. I just can't see a good reason why Admin weren't open about the real issue. So I hope you don't mind me poking gentle fun at it here - and in the spirit of Lit's literary pretensions bolting an unnecessary Conrad quote on the end.

Thing is, any site that allows user content of an adult nature will deal with questions about consent and copyright, and there are ways to deal with those things without just nuking the whole premise of pics and gifs.

But it's also true that a collage of state laws written by the biggest fucking hypocrites you can imagine are almost surely responsible for this. Fucking creeps who will pay for an escort or mistress's abortion and threaten them into NDAs, but are very concerned about boobs on the internet.

Having to click on links is a nuisance. It could be worse though. At least they didn't just delete everyone's threads. We'll all end up adjusting one way or another.

Gentle poking is never a bother :)

Funny though that if you go scroll to the site index on the Lit homepage there is a brightly colored (and some might say attention grabbing) ad for Lit Live Nude Webcams... Seems that preserving the "original intent" is subjective.
Ah the gentle poke… so many ways for that to go!

Okay, so this may sound like a stupid question, but...

What is the difference between the girl next door as opposed to the girl who lives down the street?

Asking for a friend. :D
The number of ring doorbell cameras and motion activated security lights you have to sneak past.

Heads up to the newbies, it takes you to the first posts you ain’t seen. So you might want to check dates before replying. We’ve all (well many of us have) replied to 5 year old posts, no shame, but it’s unlikely to spark interest.

One thing to consider, what kind of woman the "girl next door" is, depends on what kind of neighborhood you are in...

Oh I feel stupid now, so sorry. If you would like so, I can delete.
Again sorry, won’t happen anymore.

The number of people who quote that first page is astounding! haha
I’d laugh harder if I hadn’t done it. It’s confusing!

But also, if you’re gonna, be original. In S&S it wasn’t the answering what’s the best day to have sex as much as it was every answer was the same 🤣
