I would like to share a little more of my sould too you, and for those others that wish too.

Tiz the season...

Do you believe in Santa Claus?? I believe I was arounf 12 when I stopped, and then something change that forever....

It was destined to be the worst christmas of my life. My father-inlaw a man I looked up to and there are not many of them had died after a short battle with lung cancer. He was trying so hard to hang on for one more christmas for his wife and his 3 grandchildern, but it wasn't meant to be. He lived in my house the last few months. We had converted the family room inot a bedroom for him so he could be with the folks he loved to be with
his daughter (my ex-wife), his wife and my 3 wonderful kids.
I know how hard he worked to hang on, but he past away a few day before christmas.. he was so close. He past away with his daughter, his wife and myself at his side. He went away very peacefully and in doing so gave me a gift, removing my fear of death.

The funeral was set for chrismas eve. I had selected a song for him "What a Wonderful World". The day went as expected, emotionally tought for all those who loved him and there were many.. he was a good man. We had the reception at my sister inlaws place just down the street from the funeral home. My kids and had no christmas spirit and everyone was really upset. my ex wife at arounf 8pm asked me to get the van to drive the kids home. I walk down the street to get the van when a white car pulled up and a man dressed as Santa Claus hopped of his car
and approached me and said "you look like you could use a little cheering up" in an Austrian accent to boot. He had whit bushy eye brows that we very animated when he spoke and rose red cheeks that I believe were real. I smiled and said thanks but Iknow 3 others (my kids) that could use the sheer a lot more than me. I told what had happen and asked him if he would stop by the house to cheer up my kids.. He promissed thathe would, but had a few other stops to make first.

I drove the van to the front of the house.. My ex wife wanted to hussle the kids off quickly, but I refussed tell her something special would happen.. She was angry but I held her off. About 15 mins later you could hear cars horns blowing and my kids were trying to peek to see what was happening. They was Santa Claus wlaked down street on the other side, walking right past the house. I could see excitment in my 2 young daughter eye and disbelief in my sons eyes (he was 12). He crossed the road and then walked back down the street towards the house. He wlaked up to the front gate and opened it and marched up to the step where he stopped and reach in to his sack and pulled out a scroll and pronouced in hos accent "Is there a David, Amanda and Melissa here???" his face so animated it made even me laugh. My kids eyes (yes my sons too) were wide with shock. He asked them if they had been naughty or nice and thne he proclaim "oh yes it says here on my list that you have been nice". He said he had something for his one of them and each back into his sack and pulled out a pare of red long johns, then shook and said" no wonder I'm so cold" The he reached in one more time and pulled out 3 candy canes and gave them each one.. The he said go home quick but be safe and he would be by shortly with more gifts. Well all my kids where laughing and smile and their hearts filled with joy. They could wait to get home now. Their excitement was contagious and it brought warmth and joy into all our heart too see the kids laughing and smiling again. I tried to give him money which he refused he said his gift was to see the joy on the face of the ones he touched. Well you see this Santa Claus
was the real Santa Claus, he brought joy and the spirit back into the hearts of my kids as well as to us big folks.. He brought that christmas the great gift of all.. a wondeful happy christmas one and all!!

That happen 8 years ago tjis coming christmas and it still brings tears to my eyes to tell the story. So folks if you ask me there is a real Sanata Claus. I met him once 8 years ago..
