A Song for Everything

I spent many hours playing this song when I was first taking up guitar - and this is the version I learned. I didn't become really familiar with Jimi's original version until a few years later (I did know it was Jimi's song though). I still love to hear it.

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Voodoo Child (Slight Return)

Now... lets just get to it... I can think of at least one song this clue is in... but go where you want with it.

I saw SRV live twice. The 2nd time he closed the show with an absolutely majestic version of this song. He was channeling Jimi on stage, like I felt they were both up there wailing.

When I was a baby guitar student my snobby rock and roller teacher was no fan of Stevie. Said he was too derivative. So I didn’t study SRV like I should have. But that guy was wrong. Stevie had his own voice.

I was a huge Stevie fan, and did get to see him live even though I generally don’t go to concerts at all. I think it is obvious he was influenced by Jimi (who I am also a huge fan of), but Stevie went in a different direction and took it to a different level. I am not someone to ever say this person is “better” than that person, to me it is a stupid concept. Especially talking about art. Way too subjective. Listen to what you enjoy, and don’t torture yourself listening to music you’d hate. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I await your scholarly treatise on the etymology of "jism." :ROFLMAO:
I've researched the term before. Now you know.

"The original meaning of scumbag is “condom.” The Oxford English Dictionary dates the term to 1967, with 1971 as the first example of the “despicable person” sense, but current research has pushed the dates back to 1935 (based on the still earlier scum, “semen,” and bag, “a condom”) and 1950 respectively."
