Adding a published story to a series

When I uploaded my first chapter, I ended the title with 01, but didn't use the manual series option. When I uploaded my second chapter, I used the same numbering, adding 02, but I did use the manual series option. Now I understand this is very much not the way, and I have overthought it and confused the series process. So my chapters are not together.

Chapter two has the little stacked pages symbol. Chapter one doesn't. Is there a way to get them into the same series now?

Or have I cast them into seperate worlds, never to speak again, catching only whispers of each other through the veil?

Yes. Go to the Series section in your panel and click on Manage Works. Check the box next to part 01 and add it to your manual series.

Just bear in mind that since you made it manual, for every part thereafter you will need to specify during submission that the story is to be added to the series, i.e. adding 03 is no longer enough.

Thank you for the advice, really helpful! I have followed your instructions and added part 1 to the same series. It looks right in my series settings now. Does it usually take some time for the Author works to update? I'll use the manual option for part 3.

Yes, it can take some time. It used to be several days, but recently I noticed it happened within a few hours.

Give it 24 hours. The site refreshes daily, which should synch everything up - noting that some metadata is always out of synch.

I was just about to post a thread asking if i could turn a stand alone into a series! I haven't posted any second chapters yet but there are chapters to come and i wanted to know if i could do this. So glad it's possible!
