Jin Mantrell stepped out of his car into the parking lot of what looked like a fairly normal office building, though if his suspicions were right, he knew it was nothing of the sort. He felt curious as to what exactly would be waiting for him inside. Last week, he'd received an e-mail from a company that wanted him to prototype a "truly new, groundbreaking form of interactive gaming" for them, as they had described it. He was optimistic, but he had his doubts. He'd heard similar hubbub about things like 3-D gaming and motion control gaming and those had not panned out to be nearly as "revolutionary" as their creators had thought they'd be. Still, he had to see what this was about. He had done playtesting and bug finding for a few other companies before and he was curious to put this new technology through its paces.
He walked through the front doors, seeing the company logo above the doors. The words, "Transcend Interactive" with drawings of an eye, ear, hand, tongue, and nose. He entered a relatively quiet front lobby and a receptionist pointed him towards one side wings and told him follow the blue line.
Jin stopped outside a pair of double doors and found himself actually a little excited. He had no idea what lay beyond here. 'It really could be revolutionary,' he thought to himself, but tempered his expectations, 'Or it could be nothing. But you won't find out until you go in.'
He opened the doors and walked through, it was time to see just what he had come here for.
