Aft Nacelle (discussion all things sci-fi)

Hmmm... Maybe. I'm sure Disney isn't available in the UK until March and no idea where Watchmen is on.

But... Only a week until The Witcher and Altered Carbon is back next year (I think) and Lost in Space is getting season 2.
I really enjoyed Season 1 of both of these. Although I heard that they will have a different actor playing the main character in Altered Carbon Season 2 (shades of Dr, Who)

I watched a few episodes, found it pretty slow going.. but I might watch again and see if I can pick it up again.

That would be cool! He's the best Dredd so far.

Also, anyone seen the Watchmen series? Heard it's good but can't see it on Netflix or Amazon...

The Watchmen is on Sky Atlantic in the UK, first episode was a bit slow but it gets better.

Yeah, I've heard it's the guy that plays the Falcon in the Marvel films.

I used to watch the Vic Mignogna one (Star Trek Continues). I keep thinking about putting one together myself some day.

Oh that was a great show, such a shame they decided to stop, but with CBS new fan film rules they really had no choice. Go ahead and do one, I am sure it would be fun.....at least the storyline I am thinking of ;)

Last jedi was good, most of the rest feels like a money spinner ? (And I'd call myself a fan)

To be honest, personally there have been 4 good movies in the franchise.. I'm a bit of an old-school moaner. I grew up with the original trilogy and the prequels were my greatest movie disappointments. But... Each to their own. I'm not going to call someone out for enjoying them.

I loved Watchmen. Just finished it yesterday. My favourite of this year. Loved the first Altered Carbon season but not as much as I did the book but it was still brilliant.

Favourite sci-fi/fantasy/spe-fi right now: Rick & Morty, Stranger Things, His Dark Materials, Ann Leckie's The Raven Tower (very different to the Ancillary series), Handmaid's Tale (hoping to get The Testaments for Xmas), Dry by the Schustermann's (youth book but my eldest liked it and so did I).

Will watch The Witcher

I read the first ancillary and wasn't impressed. Need to read the other two though to give it a fair crack.

Rick & Morty is funny as is Disenchantment. Watching series 3 of Dragon Prince which is an interesting take on a fantasy epic, animation style.

His Dark Materials is pretty good, though no idea how it compares to the books as I've not read them.

I really liked them but it took me a while to get my head around the first but then it clicked and I loved it.

I enjoyed the first episode of Disenchantment but haven't got round to watching the rest. Maybe this Xmas. Dragon Prince I don't know. But this is a brilliant age for sci-fi and fantasy. I no longer feel like a nerd but somehow almost normal. :D

I've only read the comic book version of HDM and all I was expecting was a young adults story and it is and I'm happy with that (and Ruth Wilson). Think I've enjoyed it more than my children have.

I'll probably die of an orgasm overdose if this show has good sword fight scenes. Nothing's ever really topped Highlander.

Just flicked through the first episode to get that screenshot and there was some plot between the sword fights. ;) I think you might need a change of knickers. :D Then again, it wouldn't be the first time I've got a woman's hopes up only to dash them.:)

Rise of Skywalker is a haphazard, but ultimately joyous and satisfying conclusion to forty-two years of Star Wars. :)

I think that's a fair sum up of the Ridley 3.

I love loads of elements in them
I love the general themes.

But at times they are bloody annoyingly stupid.

(Don't get me started on the first one!)
