After the Party

Jules

*Seeing Abbi walk into the room, Jules puts out his almost finished cigarette, looks at Lila and shrugs his shoulders*

"Abbi, I had no idea when you were coming back. I dumped yout coffee in the sink. There's fresh in the pot."

Turning to Lila, he tells her "OK, this has worked before, let's hope it works again." She sat in front of me, her hair more tightly in a bun that before, her head relaxed and tilted down. I got up, stood behind her and put my hands on her shoulders.

"Cold?" I asked, but took no notice of the answer ... would she tell me to stop if they were? No one ever has.

I started kneading her shoulder muscles, with my thumbs on the base of her neck. Her skin was a bit dry, but very smooth. A night of drinking will do that ...

"Drink some water, luv. You need it ..."

I turned to Abbi -- "Be a dear, will you, and get poor Lila some water? Thanks." Abbi smiled, but it did not look like a friendly smile. For now, I ignored it.

Leaning over Lila's shoulder, I asked her: "Does this feel better?" I pushed my fingers into her well defined muscles along her back, rotating them, as if I were trying to get lumps out of mashed potatos with my hands.

Her dress was unzipped when she sat down, so I took the liberty offered me and let my hands roam all over her exposed skin, smoothing and kneading and caressing and tickling. I knew I was no good at real massages, but this I could do. Eventually I reached the sides of her back, and felt the heat of her breasts.

I wanted so badly to reach around and grab her nipples which were poking through the thin material of the dress.

"Must be cold in here," I said. Lila laughed, but didn't move. I kept rubbing her sides, my fingers getting closer and closer to the part of her flesh under her breasts. Thank god I was standing behind her, because the bulge in my pants was now unmistakable. This was no pistol in my pocket, but it was loaded.

OOC: Sorry

Back IC:

While I was trying to make Lila feel relaxed and excited at the same time -- I have always been a bit of an exhibitionist -- I saw Abbi staring at my hands moving under Lila's dress. Lila's head was down, so she could not see who was noticing what I was doing.

I let my hands move ever closer until I could feel the soft flesh of her breast ... taking a bolder step I let the fingers of my left hand pinch her nipple between them as my right hand came back around to her back and I pushed in on her lower back, where her ass and back met. She arched forward a little, and that was definitely a moan I heard.

Just then Doug entered the kitchen asking for coffee ...

I pulled back a little, and put my hands back on Lila's shoulders to continue working her neck, head and shoulders, paying close attention to the backs of her ears.

"On the counter, mate," I answered, for some reason pretending to be Australian ... must be my flippant side.

The spell I thought we were in was definitely broken, but then, I was probably living in a dream world if I thought anything was going to happen at all, let alone right then and there. But who knows, sometimes dreams do come true.

"Did I ever tell you the story about my grandfather ... Montgomery ... he died in Morocco a happy but broke man ... no? Well perhaps later today, it's a bit of a long story.

OOC: This is a bit of a pitch for the characters in "Your Wish, My Command" but hey ... any bolder would be .. gauche.

OOC: Miss V - Glad to hear you’re okay and that you’ll be joining the party (or should I say the morning after?) shortly! <grin>

Surprised that Jules was as bold as he was with the blatant innuendo of his massage, I wasn’t so sure how I felt about having a guy I had just met all over me. Flattering, yes, but the way I was feeling, I was definitely not in the right mood.

“Watch where you let those hands wander, Casanova…”

I felt Jules tense slightly as another guest entered, someone new to Abbi’s usual circle of friends, but obviously acquainted with the others here. Moving his hands back to my neck, Jules gestured to the coffee pot.

There were footsteps on the stairs, and I turned in the chair to see who else was up and about.

"Hey-hey A," I grinned at Abbi as she walked in, looking her usual bright self.

“Wicked? Moi? Neavah…Just getting acquainted with some of the other party animals.”

Patting the table beside me, I set down the cup of coffee, gesturing for her to join us, wincing slightly as someone hit the kitchen lights.

“Misery loves company…”

"Bes, maybe we should go back down and join the others before we do something we can't take back?" she had said.

Yes... yes, she was right. Abbit had left Bes to her thoughts, though Bes was unsure whether is was more sane to give in to her own feelings or to think about them. She didn't feel sane.

"Get a grip on it, old girl" she muttered, standing up and slipping into her room to change. Lon had ventured elsewhere to Bes's relief, and she opened her closet door, peering inside.

She made her selection, pulling out a tan sweater-dress and smoothed the garment over her head, hanging her bathrobe back on its customary hook.

Bes looked out the window. It was still snowing. Now, large white flakes that drifted on a windless path downward. And there was Jules' car, buried under a mound of snow. She contained a giggle, wondering what she really found funny.

Momentarily cheered up, she ventured downstairs, intent to do whatever was needed to remain a good hostess.

Jules

Thinking to myself: "What the hell were you thinking ... you're in room full of people ... most with hangovers ... yeah but it was worth a shot ... it's going to be a long cold day ... anyway I like her, don't fuck it up this early ... I wonder what decent videos Bes has ... Bes ... that was the character in Breaking the Waves ... tragic story that ... yes, Emily Watson played her ... what else has she done?...I don't know ... looking outside the semi-steamed kitchen window ... it's as bleak outside as she was in the film ... it looks so cold ... I want to get hot ... I want a hot cup of coffee ..."

To Lila: "Sorry luv, I need my hands back for a jif. Need more coffee, can I get you any?"

Doug:

Pouring myself another cup of coffee, I watched as Jules massaged the back of another guest whose name I could not remember from the party, but who Bes called Lila. I really don't know anyone here and everyone I met at the party seems to have gotten home safely.

Although Jules seemed to be enjoying the moment, Lila shattered his pleasure, "Watch where you let those hands wander, Casanova..." I couldn't help but smile, it was about the only humorous part of the day so far. My smile was returned by Lila, who invited Bes to sit down and join her.

Just as I was about to leave the room, Abbi strolled back in, looking much more together in a tan sweater dress. "Abbi it looks like we are going to be imposing on for a while longer. I looked at the weather channel and it doesn't look promising for this to stop until tomorrow morning at the earliest and since it is a holiday the road crews are skeleton staffed and everyone is being urged to stay off the roads unless they have to travel. Sorry. What can we do to help you?"

Bes heard Abbi's name, and looked up, realising that Doug was speaking to her. She couldn't blame him, the poor guy, stuck here with all the people he didn't know.

"There was a word for days like this when I was a kid. My mom called them 'popcorn days'... she had a big silver bowl that she would fill with popcorn and we would sit around the television watching movies all day."

Of course, what does that have to do with anything? Bes thought, scolding herself.

"Anyhow, the house is straight, and I can't think of anything that needs done apart from finding something entertaining for everyone to do. We can't drink coffee all day... any ideas?"

LON

I was crushed that Bes went away and left me standing there in her bedroom. I wan loved her, wanted her and fantacized about her for years, and she just rejected me when finally there was an opportunity to be together. Maybe it was because I had brought a date to the party, and I had no clue where she was and didnt care. She was just a blind date - someone to be with on a party nite when neither of us had a better date.

Sure I slept with her but we were both too wasted to have any sex except oral, and I had to adnit she tasted pretty good and I wouldnt at all mind some more of it. I walked up to the room we had shared, but she was gone,so I went back downstairs. Bes was nowhere to be found, and I imagined she was off hiding from me somewhere.

I didnt find my date either, and wasnt even sure if I would recognize her unless she was naked and I could taste that pussy again. What a thought, as I gazed out into the snowstorm, and thought Id just take a risk in trying to get home without chains, unless something happenned here to liven up the party again.

OOC:l got confused - I am lonmoen in this thread- thnx to Mistress Jorga on the OOC thread I realized I had screwed up

"Sorry, Bes. I really am terrible with names." Abbi and Bes both smiled nicely. "Maybe it would help if you wore nametags!!" This proved to be the second humorous thing of the morning. Abbi and Bes, A and B, two peas in a pod. They are alike, yet I sense they are very dissimilar.

"Too cold for a snowball fight. Guess we need to find something inside to do. Bes' idea about movies isn't too bad actually. What do you say Bes, do you have a big silver bowl, too?"

I didn't see much interest from the others in watching movies, maybe because they didn't know exactly what Bes had in her collection. There were a number of widely released movies, but also a number of others were probably never seen at most theaters. Being the new guy, I don't think the others were too enamored of me, or my idea. But I hadn't heard any better ones so far.

Bes was already climbing the counter. She turned around and pointed at a lower cabinant, motioning for Doug to retrieve the large silver bowl.

"One and the same bowl. Right under there..." Bes said, turning back and grabbing a clay jar which presumably held popcorn kernels.

Hopping down carefully from the counter, she retrieved a pan and told doug to look in the refrigerator for some butter. As she spread a bit of vegetable oil over the pan, she spoke.

"A have a lot of movies, I would say my taste in them is rather eclectic, and I'm sure we could find something in there that we all could enjoy...." Bes had always been proud of her video collection. "That is," she continued, "assuming anyone else is even up for the idea."

She smiled to Doug as he brought her the butter. The kitchen was getting crowded, and their shoulders were pressed together There was much chatter in the background.. Bess couldn't help but notice the hard form of his arm against hers, and she briefly wondered what the rest of him felt like.

Brushing her hair back into a quick ponytail, she wound the locks around expertly into a bun, pinning it back somehow without the use of pins. Bes noticed Doug watching her, and she explained"

"I don't want my hair to catch fire..." she chuckled.

Lila

“Popcorn, Bes? I am so in…”

I smiled at Bes’s suggestion. She was such a fun person, but I thought she seldom realized how much her lighthearted attitude was appreciated.

“…although I’m not too good at the whole tossing-it-up-and-catching-it-in-your mouth thing. Anybody wanna teach me?”

Winking at Jules, I took the coffee from him, blowing lightly to cool it down this time. Withdrawing my legs from the chair I had been using as a footstool to make room, I tucked one beneath me as I studied the other man. He looked a little uncomfortable, although behind those eyes of his, he was hiding it well. Gesturing to him with my mug, I looked between the two women.

“Abbi…Bes…somebody gonna introduce us?

Abbi

As I poured more coffee, the kitchen seemed to fill with everybody that was up and wandering around the house. Like children pulling at mama's apron, they all wanted to be entertained, and Bes jumped right into the role. She's such a good soul. There was talk of videos, and moves to produce some popcorn. The devil in me was always ready to stir things up, however.

"Hey, how about cards? Seems like the perfect group for a rough game of strip poker . . . " No one seemed to want to be the first to speak. Some probably couldn't tell whether I was serious or not. I wasn't sure myself. It could be risky with this crowd, but we might as well do something. We weren't going anywhere for a while, and pairing off seemed to lead to trouble.

"Well, we don't have to if you're too scared." I snickered.

Doug:

"I don't my hair to catch fire..." chuckled Bes.

Things were beginning to lighten up. Maybe everyone was waking up and getting rid of their hangovers, or maybe I was just feeling a bit more at ease. It seemed easy to warm up to Bes. She had a way of making everyone at ease. It was easy to see why she is the center of her circle of friends.

"No, you are right I think we should keep all fires confined to the fireplace today." I could feel her linger a moment against my upper arm as our shoulders brushed when I brought her the butter. The kitchen was crowded but she seemedto enjoy the "innocent" physical contact as much as I did.

The girl flirting with Jules, Lila I believe asked for a n introduction. "I'm Doug, an outsider to this cast of characters, but I hope to remedy that by before I leave. As for teacging you to throw the popcorn up and catch it in your mouth I think it is much easier to learn with something a bit heavier, like a grape or and M&M, that takes the chance of windage out of play. I saw some M&Ms on a table last night, I bet we can have you catching things in your mouth in no time."

I was watching Bes as I introduced myself to Lila. She was shaking the iron skillet back and forth over the fire on the stove. I liked the way she moved back and forth inside her sweater dress. I moved a step closer to her and could smell her perfume over the smell of freshly poping corn. I reached around her to pick up the silver bowl and let my arm graze all the way across her back. It was a pretty obvious ploy, but I decided after the near disaster in the bathroom, what the heck.

"So, Bes what movie do you recommnend for this group. I am open to anyting you sugggest. I smiled as she lifted the top of the skillet and poured the corn into the bowl.

Bes

Bes briefly closed her eyes as Doug's arm swept across her back, sending a delighted tingle over the surface of her skin. A small droplet of grease hitting her hand jerked her out of the quick daydream that had ensued.

At once Doug and Lila were both speaking of movies and cardgames, asking her opinion.

"When I was growing up, my brothers and I would bring boardgames into the living room, along with toys, and turn the television on and sometimes the radio too," spoke Bes, shaking the popcorn, "Sometimes a group demands overstimulation..."

She chuckled. "Why not both? I'll start a movie going... we can play cards on the floor."

With that, she dumped popcorn from the pan to the bowl, and carried it off to the living room. By the time anyone had started wandering after her, there was a deck of cards on the floor, and she was popping a tape into the VCR.

Doug:

I reached into the refrigerator and grabbed a coke and followed Bes into the den where she had already popped a tape into the VCR. She also threw a deck of cards on the floor. She looked pleased with herself that it looked like her guests were beginning to enjoy themselves.

I found a place on the couch where I could see both the television and the open space on the floor where Bes set the cards. I sat somewhat in the middle of the couch hoping that Bes might come sit next to me, but wondering whether she would instead sit on the floor and play cards.

Bes set the bowl of popcorn down on the coffee table and I took a handful. "Great popcorn, Bes. I much prefer skillet made to air popped or microwave. Bes, please come sit over here and tell me what yiou picked out for us to watch."

Jules

The mention of strip poker brought me out of my reverie.

I sat quietly while introductions were made all around. It seemed we were building momentum for a little party of our own -- Doug, me, Lila, Abbi, Bes, and Lon was somewhere around the house.

The popcorn was on the stove, and it was time for us to move slowly into the living room. I knew I wanted to sit next to Lila to continue our ... conversation. I didn't care if we were to play cards or watch a movie. I only know I hoped that if we did watch a movie, it would be a good one ... today called for an old black and white film, with lots of intrigue. Casablanca would be great. Or maybe some romance from the 1960s -- something in an Audrey Hepburn.

Who cares. I took the coffee from Lila, stood up, and made my way to the living room.

Abbi

We all made our way into the living room, and I watched with amusement as Doug angled to stay close to Bes, who seemed to be enjoying the effort, and Jules worked hard to stay close to Lila. I guess his momentary enchantment with me had passed. I wasn't offended, just entertained by the fickleness of horny guys, and the perpetual dance we all do to find connection. That's really what it was all about, was the need to feel connected to someone. All of our relationships boil down to that, whether we do them well or poorly - connection to someone is the bottom line, and sometimes we sell our souls to get it.

I felt like I had finally learned how to connect in real ways without giving up those parts of me that I held sacred. It wasn't always easy to override the cravings in favor of something deeper inside myself, but the results had been a cosmic change in self-esteem, and ironically a rise in attention from others.

The popcorn flowed, the movie began, the cards lay ignored on the living room floor, and I just smiled warmly to be among friends. "Does a full house beat a flush?" I asked trying to sound naive.

Bes

Bes took the offered seat, suprised at Doug's newfound bravery, but pleased that his ackwardness was wearing away. She jokingly layed her head against his shoulder for a few brief seconds before straightening up with a chuckle. Their thighs were touching. She casually tried to ignore it.

An old movie flashed up on the television screen. "I heard Jules talking about Audrey Hepburn last night," spoke Bes. "So I put on "Roman Holiday... I hope thats ok with everyone..."

Bes patted the seat next to her when Abbi entered the room, smiling to her. There wasn't much space, but since they had been girls they had been using each other as a pillow when watching movies. Bes leaned against Doug, getting comfortable and wondering if they would look like a stack of dominos falling once Abbi sat down.

Jules

Sitting comfortably in the overstuffed chair next to the sofa ... there could be room for two, but right now it's just him.

"Wait, we should wait until Lila gets in the room before we start the movie. Are we going to play cards? Is anyone interested or would we all rather be ensconced in the warmth of these blankets?"

I held up a knitted afghan and tossed it to Doug-Bes-Abbi who were all sitting together, crammed comfortably together on the couch.

Bes had popped in "Roman Holiday," a cute Audrey Hepburn flick. I love her style in this one. We talked about it a bit last night, I remember, before she moved on to talk to someone else.

Ahhh, Abbi. I am having a hard time relating to her. I mean, here we all are in a pretty intimate setting. I don't think anyone's groping anyone else in a serious way, yet ever since she came back into the kitchen -- when I was giving Lila a backrub (and an attempted front rub. Stupid stupid stupid) -- she has steered clear of me. I should remind her I don't bite, and that I'm just here for the companionship. If something else is going to happen, fine.

But now it's just popcorn, Audrey, warmth and coziness. All that's missing is Lila.

Where is she?

Doug:

Bes sat next to me on the couch and playfully put her head on my shoulder. I thought she was playing with me, but didn't mind.

"Roman Holiday. I haven't seen this movie in ages. Kind of funny the way she gets out in public after being slipped something to help her sleep. But good old Gregory Peck eventually rescues her and has a fit of conscience and stops being a jerk before he ruins her."

I liked the feeling of Bes' thigh pressed against mine. Neither of us moved or acknowledged that it was going on. With her hair up, I noticed how pretty her neck was. Sort of Hepburnish when she had her hair up. Maybe I was just projecting because of the movie.

As the movie started and we sat on the couch we brushed hands several times in grabbing handfuls of popcorn. It was playful flirting and made me wonder whether it could go any further.

Lila

I had briefly thought about changing, but gave up the idea after looking at the rest of the crew.

Stretching, I walked into where everyone else was gathered, glancing at the Audrey Hepburn with it's sound almost muted. Grabbing the deck from the floor, I settled myself into the center of the impromptu circle that had formed, leaning back against Jules's chair, legs tucked beneath me in a semblance of modesty.

"I believe the game of choice was strip poker… Everybody know how to play?"

I smiled and looked at the intimately gathered group, flexing the cards between my fingers.

"Winner gets their pick of a person…that person has to remove one item of clothing. Loser’s choice. Shoes count as a pair…socks are separate.”

Wiggling my own bare toes, I winked.

“And of course if you’re wearing neither…then you’re screwed.”

With a loud waterfall shuffle, I dealt the cards out, wondering if there was any other card sharks lurking about.

“Five card draw – fours & whores wild…”

"Five card draw--fours and whores wild..." Lila announced with no small amount of confidence. Between the way she shuffled and the the way Abbi not so coyly asked if a full house beat a flush, I suspected that I would be glad we were playing only for clothes and not for my money.

"I guess I'm in Lila, but make sure you deal 'em off the top of the deck," I said laughingly. "You look too good with your hands to ignore."

I didn't see much eagerness to join in the game, although I was sure Jules wold play, and had no doubt who he would choose with every winning hand. Maybe some of the others from upstairs would come down and join us. So far it looked like Jules, Lila, Abbi and me. "Come on Bes, what have you got to lose??

"Whores are wild?" inquired Bes, unfamiliar with the term. "What have I got to lose? Presumably, my clothes. I don't even know how to play this game... someone will have to help me."

She was embarrased about the prospects of the game, but she imagined it would be even more ackward if she sat alone on the couch, watching everyone else play.

Besides, Doug had already seen everything there was to see, and Abbi as well. She had also heard of a thing called beginners luck, and was in a strange mood.

She wondered if perhaps, the others were rubbing off on her.

"Deal me in." This sounds fun ...getting naked in front of Audrey Hepburn, god, and these people. That's if I lose.

"Lila dear, much as I want you in front of me, and I do, if you continue to sit there I'll see all your cards, and probably down your dress as well."

I felt very relaxed in this group of people. The person I knew least was probably Doug, but I had a feeling that in the course of the game and the day, more will be revealed.
