But do you THINk that my comment on neon TUBINg and 'finish"? are accurate?

Let's play hot-n-cold! You're getting warmer, rhino. ;)

Yeah..definitely warmer....I don't like the writing in white either...that just jumped out at me as not looking "right"

You're on the right track though!

Draft Preface

What sayeth y'all?

Preface

Coming Together was conceived online in the
Literotica.com® Author’s Hangout. It is the result of many
hours of collaboration between some very talented
authors, poets, and illustrators who have (ahem) “come
together” to produce a scintillating erotic cocktail.

In each volume of this serial, the reader may
partake of a variety of intoxicating spirits: group sex,
romance, both hetero- and homosexual romps, humor,
incest, bondage, anal sex, fantasy, dominance/submission,
and fetish. While each individual ingredient may not suit
the tastes of every reader, the savory combination of
flavors is sure to stir every imagination.

Proceeds from the sale of this volume of Coming
Together
will be donated to Electronic Frontier Foundation
(www.eff.org) which is dedicated to protecting our online
freedom of speech.

So, join us in a toast: to sex!

Bottoms up,

~ impressive

I'll agree on looking at yours that mine looks a lot more rough. How did you do the neon tubing?

However, I don't know what it is, but yours isn't hitting the right spot for me. There's a bit too much - the font seems too showy, the figure is big, bulbous and kinda Roman-Emperor-bust like and it's all filling the page a bit too much. This is just my opinion and heaven knows I'm no expert, but I'd prefer everything a bit slenderer, a bit smaller on the page and a bit less... glitzy.

I was thinking single bar light in a dark alleyway as opposed to Broadway when I thought of the neon.

You thought Broadway -- I thought Vegas. However, I agree re the intent being single bar light in a dark alleyway. Isolated, but inviting.

Also agree re the face dominating the page. The "cocktail" is the theme, thus I feel the glass should be the focal point.

Hmm, I prefer the bluebut prefered the glass when it was a different colour, it looks a bit flat now, a bit too much blue. (Picky? me? Never!)

And reading the earls comment, yes, it is a bit too big maybe...?

Imp...Love the Preface :)

and English LAdy,
I agree.
I DID want a semi androgenous fifure..THOUGH MORE womanly does seem in order.

The white IS harsh.

I like the font alright as "neonesque"...but COULD see script. The WHITE is NOT intended to be neon....I can see that as being PRINTED sign and Illuminate it VIA the "coming Together" glow.....hmmm

I just can't deal with that hair and that much face dominating the page. I don't mind the white script subtitle, but the font of "Coming Together" doesn't really evoke the image of a neon sign (IMO). Glass needs to be larger. (Go ahead! Call me a harpy!)

Is there anyway to back off the "glow" of the neon slightly? It's making it appear garish.

To my mind - much better. Didn't realise just how much I disliked that red; it looks so much better in blue. I'd prefer a much less androgynous face (female if possible); Androgynity never hits me well. We're supposed to be sexy and something that's gender neutral has sexiness instantly wiped out. Plus I still think it's too busy. More black space, please.

However, I'm gonna disagree with Imp. I think the glass is unnecessary. I think we either need to go with the orgasming face or go with 4degree's thing with the martini glass. Trying to have both will result in a horrible, horrible mishmash.

Imp,

I heartily approve of your text. Bottoms up, huh? :D

Ok, so, I had a go at making something for a cover too.

Yeah, I like the glass, it's very suggestive, least it is to me anyway :)

Go for it Rhino! You're doing grrrrrreat!

I just love the "Bottoms up" ... and I'm glad y'all are as tickled by it as I was.

On your cover, can you take all those little symbols and use them to outline a martini glass? I would find that interesting, I think.

rhino dude...i think that last one looks awesome.

imp...you are too the queen, don't try to downplay your position. haha.

I actually prefer 4degree's non-digital work to what I've seen thus far. As much as I want the digital neon to work ... it's just not doing it for me thus far. That neon face, to me, is not the least bit erotic (and that Roman bust quality you mentioned earlier is part of the reason). In fact, if we're not going to emphasize the glass -- the COCKTAIL -- I see absolutely no reason to be wedded to neon AT ALL. It's the thread that ties it all together. Bar sign (gathering place a la Coming Together) ... cocktail subtitle ... neon. Without all three, the imagery fails, IMO.

let me re-scan...play around with it...see if i can get it crispy, er, crisper for you.

I like that! It's got something of a Ben Elton/Robert Llewellyn cover style to it. Made I larf.

The Earl

I know, I know, quoting yourself makes you go blind.

But had a thought, how about having a male head drinking from the glass in which you can see the female head orgasming?
