ETA: I'm in the process of placing the files recently received (AFTER my last rant) into the manuscript, and there are STILL files with spaces indenting the paragraphs (instead of using the indent paragraph formatting) and blank lines between paragraphs. How difficult is this to understand? I am SO tempted to chuck it all -- and I may yet do so. CHECK YOUR FILES, PEOPLE, IF YOU WANT TO BE PUBLISHED. (Last warning.)

Question: Cuz I really am truly deficient with this stuff- how do you know if you have it properly indented? Is just having the indent setting on first line with the right space amount going to do it? Or is there another step?

In Word: Select Format, then Paragraph, then enter 0.375 in the "Left" indent space.

When you hit <enter> it will then automatically indent. Spaces & tabs have to be manually removed. Your file was okay in this regard.

Phew. I did the indent setting like that, but not till after it had been done the other way first.

Illustration(s) needed ...

... for The Spirit of Frankenstein or Belegon's Wet Panties? (The swingset should be an easy one!), because the a following poem (XES) has to fall on an even-odd page (being a 2-page poem). Right now, there's a blank page before it. An illustration (at any place in either the story) would push the text onto that blank page.

It will HAVE to be grayscale or B/W. Only the cover can be in color.

Decision on illustration rests with the author/poet -- so if you have a recommendation, PM them with it.

LadyJeanne's story Release the Beast will be bumped to a later volume (at her request). I'm trying to find a story of a comparable length to replace it & to that end have PMed logophile about getting Fresh Fruit ready in time. cantdog's Encore is another option, but I know he's not been around much.


ETA: Instead of filling volumes as stories are vetted, I'm going to instead fill volumes as stories are vetted AND delivered to me in the proper format. So, if you've a story vetted (for ANY volume), get it to me. The v3-4-5 tables may experience some significant jostling as soon as v2 is published. I'm not doing this last minute bitch fest again.

Imp has flattered me greatly by asking me if I can have my story Fresh Fruit ready for Volume 2 instead of Volume 4. I really want to be able to do this, but I'll need help.

I want to have it read by at least 3 people for spelling, typing and grammatical errors. As a writer, three of my main weakness are; 1. using the word "start" or "started" alot, 2. completely leaving out words, and 3. accidentally moving into present tense during the sex scene.

If I can get three really good people to look it over, I'd be more than happy to send it to Imp for Volume 2.
