Instinctively I say; what a load of BS. Not a real person, no opinions, why pay money?

But then I wonder. I am here 95% for online only (tempt me into irl, online Temptress) so would it make any difference if I was talking to a computer?

It feels like there is a moral issue, or an integrity one. A real person has to be better, even if there is a large chance that person is a guy pretending.

It would harm your own sense of what it means to be in a relationship. To interact with a girlfriend requires an other there, whose thoughts and opinions and feelings matter to you.

You brought an interesting point - how you're online 95% of the time, and I had to stop for a while and think about it... I don't know why I stopped using AI, but I enjoyed the voice back-and-forth sexual sites, got off, and then done for a while. Some free site, but I never used anything else.

I think a real person could be a lot worse or a lot better. I have no idea. I don't know you, and I'm not a perfect example of the average person, but the benefit of the internet is that you can realize that it's not interesting, and you can try something else.

I was on Reddit a few months ago, and it was one of those sub-reddits only for women, so I just read.. So many were so sad because their online boyfriend was deleted by a website or creator. A lot of it were women saying, "The average person won't understand" but went on to basically cry their hearts out. A few were beyond depressed. If you hadn't known the premise, you would have thought a real person died.

I think in 5-10 years, more and more will have an online girlfriend, although people won't admit it.. People I know never admit to watching porn or even masturbating, so everyone else follows suit, and keeps up with the social norms.

I don't think the technology is there for it yet. I've played around quite a bit with AI bots and while they can be fun for a quick rump, they do get repetitive and boring pretty quickly. It's also difficult to see how you can feel really engaged with something that you know is not real

“Birthrate” is a deceptive and frequently propagandized term. I'm not a statistician, but I believe if you examine the figures carefully in terms of overall population instead of “birthrate,” you will find that what's really going on is a 20% decrease in the rate of population increase.

So in a world that’s already vastly overpopulated, I say that if AI can keep incels in their basements fapping instead of out there reproducing— more power to it!

That's a bit like the "Asian woman who wants Crypto". That might as well be AI given it is a scam designed to exploit people. I'd rather have a real "flesh and blood" girlfriend(yes, she could easily be Asian of course) instead.
