Alien vs Predator: A Frozen Hell

Kingston was quick to reason out the handgun as a worthy weapon. If such small firearms were effective against Predators, the hunters would never have grown to be so notorious. Humans would have wiped the floor with them. But it stood to reason that one of their tools might do the trick. After all, didn't her own people judge the quality of a weapon by the damage it could do to another human? Humans built weapons able to take down humans. Why wouldn't Predators make weapons able to take down Predators?

Tucking the knife into her medic's bag, it dawned on her how cumbersome her weapons had become. Should she make it past the Predators, she'd have to think about leaving some decisions. The M4A3 was tucked into the back of her pants, easily retrieved if necessary. Eyeing the two other weapons she had picked from the Predator's corpse, she ultimately chose the three-pronged gun. The synthetic stood close to the wall and aimed high, knowing the faster she took out the Predators the better off she was.At the slightest shiver in the air, she was ready to fire.

They'd obviously come to rescue their comrade - quite a coincidence that Xenomorphs should attack at that very same time, wasn't it? But their ally was dead in the showers, and Kingston was right there toting his weapons. Wouldn't she be in for it if they put two and two together?

Shaking my head, I went to retrieve my ammo, and replaced them in their cartridges. I looked around, and took one trophy that was mine, and continued on, checking my power meters. I replaced a canister of energy for my shoulder cannon, and scoured the room for anything I could use to draw power from.

The bathroom door pushed open, a blurish mirage entering the doorway. Kingston took the shot.

The spear gun barely recoiled against her shoulder as it propelled the tri-tip bolt into the hunter's heart. The Prepator shimmered as its cloaking system dissapated. Green blood trailed down the brute's chest as it looked to the bolt in its front.
The hunter looked blankly at the synthetic as it stood motionless above her. The beast reached for its side but Kingston was quicker as she fired another round into its ribs. The giant collapsed to the floor on its back, shaking the entire room with its fall. Everything in the corridor would have surely heard that...

Kingston reloaded as she heard the pounding footsteps of another hunter running her way. She aimmed at the open doorway again, waiting for the creature to enter her sights.

The wall ripped open in a flash of blue light as hot plasma tore through the tile walls. The first shot was followed by dozens of others as white-hot plasma turned the wall into swiss cheese. Kingston leapt out of the wall, rolling to the other side of the room just as the mighty hunter busted through the weakened wall in a charge.
The wall exploded in a shower of dust and tile as the Predator lunged into the bathrooms. Its fall was lessened by three sets of bathroom stalls as it crashed through to the showers, leaving a coulmn of dust in its wake.

Kingston was quick on her feet, firing a shot off into the cloud of rubble and hitting nothing. Her artificial lungs filled with dust as the cloud filled the room.

Shit...

Predator, pt XXXXIV.
Nan-de watched as Thei wandered around looking for a power source.
The hunter tore down shelves in his search finally uncovering a fussion canister, surely used for some particle weapon the oomans had.
Thei-de bolted the canister to his power pack, unattaching an energy filter from it. He carefully rigged the tube to the fusion canister and watched as the power feed into the generator.
It worked.

Nan-de turned to her grinning compainion. Then, their helmets clicked on as the arbiter's voice filled their comlinks.
"The oomans have killed one of my students and Ta'voc's trainees are engaing her as we speak. You are all Blooded killers, if the Young Bloods fail claim the trophy of the pesky ooman. But be weary as this soldier is different from its comrades, I saw this one earlier on the roof. She will not go down easily..."

Nan-de

"We copy," I said, a twinge of something akin to fear tripping through me. If she took down one of the arbiter's hunters... dangerous indeed. "We'll keep an eye out for her. Any sign of the captured one yet?"

Turning to Nan-De, "Get some extra energy for your canisters first" as I finished filling the emptied canister, I replaced the canister in my pack, "He said it was one of his students, we'll need as much firepower as we can get if we want to get there without the kainde amedha ripping us apart." I switched to a comm channel "Arbiter, where are you?" I locked my ammo cartridge and loaded it into my gun as I was listening to the arbiter. I then checked with the ship so I could have a better idea of what was happening and what we'd have to encounter on the way.

All of Kingston's sensors were on high, straining to pick up anything that might help her pinpoint her unseen enemy. The dust put her at a definite disadvantage, hiding the flutters of air she had depended on. The hunter, however, would be able to see in most any condition. Quickly she reloaded the bolt gun. She'd chosen well.

Escaping the room was a bad idea at this point - how many more might be out there waiting their turn? They'd be smart enough not to all pounce on one target. The damage one was doing to the building was dangerous enough. Three or four more of them blowing out walls would make the ceiling collapse in no time. Besides, turning your back to your enemy was always a stupid move.

She had to take her opponent down, and the one after him if need be. She had to stay alive long enough to find a favorable retreat. How? Staying the to the floor, the synthetic seemed to be able to see easier. The beast had crashed through to the showers... Inspiration flashed through Kingston's eyes.

She sprinted towards the showers, firing off another bolt straight ahead to make sure her path was clear. The synthetic drew her pistol and leapt into the showers, twisting to land on her back. Before she hit the ground she began firing, shooting for the main water pipe. The move was hopefully bold enough to provide her a few seconds to right herself.

Watching the puddle alread begun by the first Predator she had encountered, she dropped the bolt gun and pulled the net-gun, figuring it quicker than reloading and more effective than a handgun. She had to be quicker than the Predators, because that was all she had.

Predator, pt XXXXV.
The arbiter's answer came quickly.
"There's no sign of Ni'hkou'te yet but he must be near. I'm entering the labs with Ta'voc as we speak. If he hasn't moved far, he'll be here."

Nan-de nodded and turned to her hunting party. Thei pulled up a visual of the base and zoomed in on the target corridor, watching the hunters duel with the ooman. The fight was not far from them, but the images brought up a single question. The visual had recorded unusualy low internal temperatures from the ooman. Far too low for a normal, healthy soldier...

As Nan-de bolted out the door with the males in her wake Thei dismissed the thought, knowing whatever it was, it was in their way...

Marines, pt XXV.
Kingston emptied the handgun in mid-flight, punching four precise shots into the external water pipes. The pipe split open with a loud crack and water exploded out in all directions.
Kingston hit the wet ground and rolled once, getting quickly to her feet and dropping her empty M4A3.

Cold water sprayed everywhere, covering every surface for 20 feet, including the Predator. Kingston's eyes flashed as the huge form of the hunter emerged before her, the cold water dissapating it's cloacking system. The brute roared ferociously, it's dark briads flailing over his shoulders as he lowered his head.
The Predator cocked his wrists and jagged blades sprung out from his forearms.
The hunter charged forward, swinging at you with the wicked talons...

Shit

Aliens, pt XVI.
Shit...

Commander Griffin leapt back as a large crack tore through the ice at his feet. The ground all around the men split open and crumbled.
Cries errupted into the night as clawed hands errupted from the ice. Griffin fell backwards and tumbled into a snowbank, quickly drawing his handgun from his side. He watched in terror as a marine toppled to the ground and slid helplessly towards the enormous, growing hole in the earth. The soldier screamed as he plunged down into the dark, torn apart by the clawed hands as he fell.

"Into the compound! Fall back, fall back!" The commander would have done the same himself but a taloned-hand broke through the ice next to him, latching onto his ankle.
Griffin fired a round into the emerging limb sending bellowing hot acid onto his leg. Before he could cry out, the ice gave way and he too plummeted into a pit of darkness and teeth. As the commander tumbled into the churning sea of death below him he realized that the hive was far from destroyed. They were back in full force...

Vellius hissed eagerly as he dragged yet another helpless host into the frozen tunnel. The drone to his right was cut down under a hail of bullets but the weapon was quickly silenced as his kin leapt upon the marine above, tearing his limbs off and tossing him into the mob below.

Instinctivly, Vellius looked to the Queen, not standing more than ten feet from him. Her message flowed through their minds like water.

Kill all prey on sight-let none live to cloud the certainty of my victory!

Vellius responded to his queen’s command with a scream he rushed forward out of the pit climbing over the swarm of drones trying to find some firm ground on the surface. He searched for the nearest cluster of prey that still fought or at least attempted too. once he found what he was looking Hissing he pounced at them with his arms outstretched as his massive form propelled through the air he planned to land on one of his preyand to catch another on the tip of his tail spear. now he just had to hope they where to panicked to move.

Vellius scampered up the wall of drones quickly, finding his footing on dead marines and kin alike. With a beastial roar, he lunged out of the pit landing nearly on top of a limping marine.
The soldier raised his rifle quickly, taking aim at the thorax of the mighty horror in front of him. The human blinked, for just a quick second. With a loud snapping sound the Preatorian's tail whipped out, striking the man across the chest. The marine flew back on his side landing fataly close next to the opening in the ice. He screamed all the way down...
Vellius let out a breif howl of victory, interrupted by the distinct fire of pulse rifles.
Humans...

He turned to see a trio of soldiers at the doorway of the garage, fully armed and firing at the pit. Vellius heard the Queen's message faintlky ringing in his head,
Tear the flesh from their bones, gnaw the skin from their bodies. Bathe in the blood of our enemies. This threat will NOT go unanswered.

Vellius ran at the trio of prey at the garage he intended to follow his queens command exactly. Charging on all fours Vellius targetd the one prey closest to him. As Vellius came within striking range of his prey he stood up on his hind legs in mid charge and thrust his clawed right hand streight toward his target aiming for his soft and tender abdomen. Vellius put all his weight in the attack trying to impale his vitim on his claws. If Vellius was succsessful he planned hurl his body at the other marines firing at the pit trying to disrupt thier attack on his hivemates.

Nan-de

I kicked open the doors opposite me and paused for a split second, wondering why the being before me was colder then the rest of the fureless worm-babies. Maybe it was one of those creations they were so fond of... she'd heard about them in one of her classes, or a book or something somewhere. Didn't matter now.
What mattered was that her clan members were dying, caution was needed and blood was spilling.
An errant KA leaned out from a crevace in the corridor wall drooling disgustingly until I rammed the tip of my spear through it, throwing its body down the hall way before me. Yeah, less then subtle but there was a method to it, I thought as I activated my cloaking devices, glad they were still intact.

Thei De Guan

Running blindly after Nan-de, while switching vision filters to detect Kainde Amedha, I almost ran into Nan De as she stopped to simply stab a kainde amedha. I then realized there was no way I could use my trusty gun in such close quarters, I would've been too suprised to even bring my speargun on it. I decided to switch back to my disc, while running I slung the speargun over my shoulder and pulled the cord out and connected it to the disc letting it hang loosely as we rounded another corner, still on Nan De's heels.

Vellius kicked up with tremendous force, landing a peircing blow to the soldier's stomach. The man let out a bloody scream as gore splashed into the snow, the Preatorian's arm sticking deep into the marine's body. Vellius ended the man's horrible wailing with a loud RIP as the bloody arm tore back out the soldier's body.
The large xenomorph quickly tossed the bloody corpse into the other pair of humans in one swift, fluid motion of the back of his hand.

The other marines toppled like bolling pins, leaving them completely helpless as the horde of drones swarmed over them on their way up...
The Queen's message flowed through his senses,
Lead the children and personally cleanse the new hive...

Vellius hissed in delight as he watched the swarm tear the prey to ribbons. The queens command suddenly filled his mind making Vellius act on it without hesitation. He ran full sprint into the garage ahead of the swarm of drones desiring to be the first to spill the first blood in there new home. As he entered the building he stopped and searched the area with his senses. Vellius looked around trying to pick up more victims his claws eagerly tapping and twitching on the hard surface.

Her strategy had been perfect. She'd succeeded in revealing her enemy without taking damage. The net gun she'd acquired was at the ready. But she'd made the mistake of watching the Predator, taking in the physically superior specimen as it appeared to her. Kingston had given it a second.

The humanoid was fast, it's razor sharp blades slicing through the air. Not the right time to take a shot. Kingston rolled with the attack as best she could, following the swing and trying to stay ahead of it as she ducked out of the way. Assuming her head wasn't nailed to the wall, she deftly retrieved the knife from her bag as it began to fall from her shoulder. The bag fell away from the weapon rather than the blade being drawn from it. Every move Kingston made was carefully reasoned, spacial relations instantly measured, recalled, or calculated. A synthetic's poise and grace were a dozen times that of a human's. It seemed to be Kingston's saving grace.

The android took a backhanded swipe at the Predator's knees as she spun to face him. Once she brought the net gun around fully she'd fire. She'd already unloaded her pistol and it looked as though the net gun was a single shot weapon. Hopefully this was the last Predator she'd be fighting, because she was spending her weapons. Fast.

Predator, pt XXXXVI.
Nan-de threw the limp drone across the hall as Thei joined her. The hunters jogged down the hallway, activating their cloaking systems as they rounded the corner. Their commlinks buzzed to life as they entered a hallway filled with smoke.

"The female's just up ahead," the arbiter clicked. "Take caution, she bears both Yaujta and ooman arms..."

Nan-de

I scowled for a moment, biting back a smart ass retort. Instead I said, "Yes, we'll be careful."

Moving slower and silently down the hall I shifted through my video settings on my mask, searching for this dangerous one.

Predalien, pt II.
Tear the flesh from their bones, gnaw the skin from their bodies. Bathe in the blood of our enemies. This threat will NOT go unanswered...
The hybrid could feel the call echoing in its skull, tempting its will to submit. The Queen tried again...

Namless one, I command you to answer the call...
The fully-grown Predalien hissed angrily as it ripped through its submerged cocoon. Then the hybrid answered with a call of its own.

The hive is an enemy of greater evolution, nothing more than a dead-end...
The Queen howled in rage at her child's impudence. The hybrid was out of her control, it was a renegade, and it would die along with the rest of the filth that remained in the new hive...

The Nameless one brought a taloned-hand across the tank's insides. The pressure compartment ruptured ripping a great hole through the wall. The Predalien pried the gapping hole open with its great claws.
The steel walls bent like tin foil, opening the compound up to a whole new contestant.

The humans, the hunters, and the hive would all submit to greater evolution-they were all just pawns of the game...

The hulking Preatorian lumbered into the enormous garage, sniffing the air for signs of life. Vellius immediatly picked up the trail of yet another human.
The xenomorph charged deep into the expansive garage, following the human's stench. He found the man huddled up in the fetal position, crouching behind a pile of munitions crates wimpering loudly. The site was so pathetic, the panicked marine didn't even know what hit him until his head was seperated from his shoulders...

Vellius was again the first to pace out into the compound corridor, closely followed by half-a-dozen drones standing shoulder-to-shoulder and walking low to the ground.
His glands pulsed as the Queen spoke.
Find me a new nesting ground. The drones will assist you in gathering corpses for this new throne room of mine...

Kingston ducked and rolled backwards as the jagged wrist blades flew over her head. As the synthetic stepped back the Predator lunged forward, delivering quick flurries of deadly swipes at her face, each time the android dodging and moving backwards in a gracefull blur.
The hunter punched again and again at its prey only to have the target duck and glide away from its reach. When the Predator lunged forward again, Kingston found her opening. She slashed the hunter's thick calf with a backhand swipe from her blade, spraying bright green mist onto the bathroom floor.

The hunter growled and stumbled forward, the agile synthetic rolling back to her feet, weapon raised. Kingston pulled the trigger of the net rifle, firing a swiss-cheese shroud at the Predator.
Within a second, the hunter was caught up in the net and thrown into a pile at the base of the opposite wall.

Nan-de's vision filters flickered on, bathing her corneas in a multi-colored spectrum. As she swept the hall for signs of the threat she saw it just as her party turned a corner. Three figures trailing warm flames immediatly caught her attention. The target was at her feet, surrounded by two male hunters in piles around her.
She would have to react quickly to claim this trophy...

"Thei, Gadaba! We found the bitch!" she called over her shoulder. Gadaba stepped forward and extended his spear. The large male grunted as he raised his weapon.

"Let's kill her quickly, before she gets away," Gadaba said, clicking his manibles furiously.

Vellius moved deeper into their new nest seeking out the perfect throne room. He moved cautiously and kept two drones in front of the pack there was no need for him to walk into any ambushes first. Vellius was constantly smelling the air and listening for any signs of more prey as he walked through the corridors.
