Almost always smiling. AKA a place where Photog1rl shows off 😜

Posting this in both my threads because they are my threads and I can…
I can’t hear this song without completely breaking down and I’ll always post it to remind me of the power of music.

Haha cool enough? In our town that was rich enough. Lol
I didn’t have a Sony one until I was married.

My first genuine Sony was a Discman Sport, the yellow kind. I had to wait until I was out of college and in the Army to get that. I rigged up a towel-and-tupperware rack for the center console of my Tempo when I drove across the country, and swapped CDs with one hand.

Memories. Seems like forever ago, now that you can spin an infinite playlist from a half-dozen sources.

I am driving so I can’t look for the photo but I’m pretty sure my first Walkman that was Sony brand was the sport model for the casette. They made that right? I feel like it was yellow and looks a lot like the discman that you posted, but it was for cassettes. I had the whole arm band thing so I could wear it when working out. Am I making that up? Is that a real memory? When I get home I’m gonna look for the image.
My family couldn’t afford to get the real Sony brand anything but my husband’s family could. So I remember the Christmas that I got the Walkman. It was one of the most, in my mind, over the top Christmases I’d ever seen. There were more presents than I could even imagine. It was like a movie or some thing and I think that memory will always stick with me. It is amazing what the differences between families could be.

I like memories.

It was a simpler time. Mixtapes. Foam earpads on headphones. Never heard of MP3; Internet? Napster? A distant dream. CDs were just coming around, and were cool because you could FFWD right to the next song without having to guess on your cassettes.

But fuck me, those damn longboxes they sold the CDs in...

Haha .... i remember calling into the radio station to request a song, then waiting and waiting for it to play so you could hit record on the tape...

But then you forget to hit "stop"!!! Hahaha!!
