Alvin Greene - the future of the Democrat Party

True dat. But it also says that favors outnumbers opposes.

Yes, that survey said that, back in December, months before the details became known.

The point was that the belief that people who favor a public option are the majority of those who oppose the bill is clearly a fraudulent canard.

This is a good point. I haven't seen a single liberal on this board defend Greene in any way, or suggest that he's anything other than a dude of apparently subpar intelligence and questionable ability to obey the law, who somehow thought it would be a good idea to spend $10,000 on his filing fee for the Senate.

O'Donnell, on the other hand, has numerous fans here. Nothing like an anti-sex zealot to get the blood of porn board conservatives racin'.

You do of course realize that O'Donnell, bizarre though she may be, is several IQ bands above Greene, who seems unable to comprehend simple spoken English.

Equating the two and then examining their support isn't a particularly well thought out assessment technique. If any Democrat knowingly supported Greene, they would be admitting inexcusable ignorance of the man.

Who got more votes?

Greene isn't getting funding or support by the Dems. Meanwhile fucking nutcases Sharon Angle and Christine O'Donnell are getting heaps of $$$ and support. O'Donnell less than Angle, but the witch is raking in cash from conservatives right now.

I didn't see where you addressed that.

Greene is an anomaly. Palin, O'Donnell, Angle, etc. are a movement. Case closed.

Ah, but you said:

If something doesn't go far enough, you don't oppose it...in general, you support it.

I'd imagine essentially all the people who wanted more are in the group of supporters or neutral parties.
I never said that a majority of the opposers favor more reform. Just that you imagine wrong, and a considerable chunk of them do. And that the supporters and the "do more!" seem to outnumber the "do less!". So there's no clear majority for "repealing the ebil suchalist gubmint takeover".

Can't see that the fella you called a moron said anything else either. Point out where he did, and I'll stand corrected.

We're quibbling over things like whether 75%+ is essentially all or not.

Whereas KO (the moron) takes this out of context:

'The poll found that about four in 10 adults think the new law did not go far enough to change the health care system, regardless of whether they support the law, oppose it or remain neutral. On the other side, about one in five say they oppose the law because they think the federal government should not be involved in health care at all."

The clear implication in his 2:1 claim is that the two numbers are comparable, whereas one group includes many people who are supportive or neutral, and the other is all opposition. There's no mention whether those who are neutral think the government shouldn't be involved, for example.

If Greene had lost to that mid-level career political hack in the primary, do you think Democrats would be throwing money at him in hopes of beating DeMint?
Angle and O'Donnell are getting heaps of cash even though they were not the candidates supported by the GOP elite. O'Donnell beat Castle, and Castle would have smeared Coons.
Angle's support isn't hard to figure out. She's running against Reid, the Senate Majority Leader who is clearly fading mentally. The GOP elite supported Sue Lowden in the primary.
As for being "fucking nutcases," I don't think being against the Obama agenda is much of a qualifier. I'm convinced both with oppose it, so that makes them smart enough to do the job as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, I'm quibbling over whether a majority of americans support what the right calls "a government takeover against the will of the people".

Why I'm doing this in an Alvin Greene thread, is beyond me.

Because Alvin Greene is getting foreign money from the Chamber of Commerce.

Just today there was a poll out (maybe Washington Post/ABC News?) that showed that 53% of Americans either support the new health care law or want to give it a chance.

And why do you keep citing Rasmussen when you KNOW that their methodology produces negatives? They even say this on their site and encourace their readers to watch movement of numbers and trends rather than taking a single number as gospel.

Really. A Republican landslide in 2010 is of great benefit to the Democrats. Mark me on this. Cite this post. Call it crow if I'm wrong.

You are on point tonight.

Republican politicians still exist because individual dem pols fuck up and voters get fed up with the whole party. Then they remember how fucked up shit can get and vote Democratic again.

Talking about swing voters here.

Pfft, when am I NOT on point? I told you guys not to cry back in EARLY 2005 after the Dems got curb stomped by Dubya and the Repugs gained seats in Congress. It's the smell of karma in the air and all that.

Shit, man, the Repigs are using unlicensed militia nutjobs to false arrest journalists, they can't even figure out the First Amendment, and Uncle Thomas's tea party wife is out demanding an apology from Anita Hill. They're talking about rolling back health care reform which is insanely popular and people want it to go further; talking about cutting Social Security and risking the wrath of the AARP; and that damned "don't vote" ad that Angle ran on hispanic TV? And to top it off Rush Limbaugh is telling kids they should go dumpster diving if they can't get fed? For God's sake man. The GOP have to win this, just to show America how fucking CRAZY they are. They won't have the BALLS to force people back on medical plans that exclude you for pre-existing conditions and drop coverage on kids before the age of 26. They do that and they're fucked. The GOP won't even THINK about ending unemployment benefit extensions like they've been trying to do. The GOP will chicken out. They'll fail.

And when shit gets worse by 2012

- yeah, am I hoping the country takes a dive under the GOP? You betcha, and the whiners and phony "bi partisan, let's pray for America" bullshitters who stayed silent while their blowhard leaders PRAYED for America to fail under Obama, can kiss my rosey black ass -

the GOP will sorely regret these last 2 years.

Not even crackhead Rose Bird was this fucking looney. When you have guys like Le Jacquelope looking at Moonbeam Brown and Gloria Allred as saviors compared to what's out there now, you should take notice. Them righties are some fucked up nutjobs. They've got batfuck crazy down cold.
