Another one bites the dust.....

And Republicans do to. Look at all the RINO's we've gotten rid of. We still have a few to clean out though.
That is not something to feel good about. Both parties are becoming more extreme, and that's not good for the country. The other problem is that as of now "RINO" simply means someone who is not completely subservient to Donald Trump, and that also is a very bad thing. In America we should be loyal to principles and country, but not to politicians, especially those like Trump who don't actually believe in anything other than their own self promotion. I feel very loyal to my country and to the principles upon which it was founded, but I have never in my life felt loyal to a president or presidential candidate, and I hope I never do.

Please submit a single “extreme” thing that the Democratic Party writ large supports.

I’m interested.

That's not the purpose of my comment. My comment is meant to point out that the parties, without question, have become relatively more extreme than in the past. 40 years ago some Democratic Senators were more conservative than some Republican Senators. That's no longer true. All Democratic Senators are to the left in terms of voting patterns of all Republican Senators. This is the first time this has been true in American history. The parties are more ideologically divided than before. The Democratic Party is considerably more left than it was under Bill Clinton. The Republican Party is considerably more right than it was under George H.W. Bush.

I regard this as a bad thing, because it makes cooperation more difficult.

Both parties have become more extreme in their conduct and procedural behavior. Unlike in the past, Democratic Senators will almost uniformly not support any Republican nominees to the Supreme Court, and Republican Senators will not support any Democratic nominees to the Supreme Court. The sense of reciprocity, which I think is essential to a functioning democracy, has eroded.

You’re dead wrong. The Republican Party has been taken over by the far right. There are no moderate Republicans for the Democrats to negotiate with. There is a far left in America, but they spend all their time and energy attacking the Democrats in the center.

The media provides cover for the right by pretending the Democrats are a mirror image of the Republicans, but that’s a lie.

Extreme is a veeeeery loaded word. And you are veeeeery close to submitting the false equivalency / bothsidesism bullshit narrative submitted by every RWCJ "member" and every left wing anarchist ever.

😑

Too fucking true.

If you actually read my comment, as opposed to fitting it into a loaded preexisting narrative, you'll see that's not what I'm doing.

I'm not going to debate people about how extreme is extreme, because everybody has different ideas about that and there's no objective way to decide it. What I said, regardless, is true: the Democrat party is to the left of where it was in Bill Clinton's time, and the Republican party is to the right of where it was then. As a result of the resorting, the parties are more ideologically divided than ever. I think that's a bad thing.

Mitt Romney is not an extremist, and disagrees often with his party, mostly about Trump. He is to the right of every Democratic member of the Senate. That wouldn't necessarily have been true in, say, the 1980s.

LOL we are both proving Simon right.

I take the inverse view, completely. Democrats have gone far left and the only moderates, like Manchin, are few and far between. What yu see in the Dems is the Far Out with Stalin Left attacking the Extreme Left. There are no moderates, and the GOP has moved to the right, largely in reaction, because the GOP moderates have proved completely ineffectual in tempering the lunacy and outright fascism of the Democrats. Part of THAT issue is that Democrats in general believe any compromise solution with Republicans is just a step towards the eventual objective and they constantly shift the goalposts, leading those of us on the right to believe that any compromise with the Left is a waste of time, and we just need to roll back everything.

As for the media, you're blowing smoke out your ass. The MSM provides cover for the Democrats non-stop and the last 8 years has seen the credibility of the MSM dissipate completely. There is NO credible US media left. Most of the US MSM is nothing but a Democrat propaganda organ, and outlets like Breitbart make no pretense of neutrality whatsoever.

This is absolute horseshit. There are more moderates than far left in the Democratic party. There are also more moderates than far right in the Republican party.

It is true that extremes are more desirable within a party when they lose power, though that doesn't normally translate into a huge shift.

Can anyone name a far-left Democrat (as there's a miserable failure regarding far left policies) with justification for that accusation?

The MAGATs are accusing Walz of being a commie for preferring to feed 10 year olds rather than monitor their menstrual cycles like a good Trumptard, but most of the world would not take that point of view.

Susan Wojcicki, the woman who helped build Google and turn it into a force for evil, and who went on to wreck YouTube, has died of lung cancer at the age of 56. Her son also died of drugs in his dorm room at UC-Berkeley about six months ago. The devil is indeed cruel to his servants. It may be unseemly to speak ill of the dead, but...given how many people's careers and livelihoods this woman ruined, how many conversations she deleted, how much of the historical record she erased, how much art she destroyed, how much fear and stress she caused for countless well-intentioned, talented and successful people, and how much random tyranny she created... it's difficult not to think that she could have lived her life in a much better way. I guess it's just as well she was in charge of a social media platform and not a city in the Soviet Union, or a gulag in Siberia.

She was a major and active player in election interference and instrumental in taking down thousands of patriotic channels.

It's probably fitting that she died of cancer, given the astronomical surge in cancer and heart disease deaths following the forced rollout of the vax shots she actively supported, and the opposition to which, and risks associated with taking, she as actively and viciously censored. She helped build the most evil corporation of all time, created today's insanely evil advertising, neglected her children and demonstrated money can't save you from cancer.

Good riddance to someone who actively worked to make people's lives worse.

ROTFLMFAO, how bout the democratic party basically dismantled our election process, voting in a candidate through a primary election process to a selection process, democracy be damned. Harris has not amassed a single vote, and yet democrats and the propaganda media catapulted Harris from borderline removal from the ticket to a flip flopped illusionary obsession that Harris is suddenly the savior of the world. Democrat politicians are evil, antithetical threat to our republic. The whole Harris campaign platform is left of Karl Marx. Hopefully our American electorate will see through this socialist ruse. The saying goes * once you vote in socialism you can't vote it out *

I could list several extreme leftist things democrats *writ large* support. Why bother? What most people consider extreme left you people consider middle of the road. Voter ID to protect our voting election process as an example.

She received enough delegate votes to be the Democratic candidate.

Sorry you don't like that

A few elitist Democrats had the power to disenfranchised 14 million primary voters, sorry you’re OK with that. Just proves the Democratic Party is all about party loyalty and winning regardless of whether it’s ethical, moral or fair. So much for DEI, *equity and inclusion*. Democrats believe DEI only counts if it’s a winning combination, otherwise all bets are off.

That's not what happened. Biden decided not to accept the nomination and endorsed his vice president. Delegates went with the wishes of the President and nominated Harris.

This didn't disenfranchise anyone.

Democrat elites knew from the getgo that Biden was damaged goods, they lied to the American people. Democrats got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and pulled off the biggest swindle In American history. Harris goes from super slug to super hero in a matter of days.

It’s really sad that you’re OK with that.

Yes, I'm fine with putting a candidate who can win on the ballot.

Republicans should've done the same.

They're delusional. They will deny any responsibility. To the, 'tis but the cost of making an omelette.
In general, they may struggle to lead effectively in a corporate environment. Decision-making driven by emotions and ideals about how things should be, rather than how they actually are, often leads to failure. Successful businesses thrive on principles such as capitalism, marketing, meritocracy, and profit-driven management. Political ideologies, such as those of the left, are secondary to these fundamental business practices. Where those ideologies are paramount we see institutional destruction.
