1st ignore the bin day, biscuits and hogwarts house bombardment that they like to pile upon new posters.
It's their favourite trolling and it's how they show their cliques.

But once you navigate past that, you'll find they are generally a great bunch of lads and lasses.

I like to think we're being welcoming to the new people and showing them how unserious but friendly this thread can be.

No. I've done it myself and only to try and make people feel welcome.

I hate feeling excluded in a new thread so trying to make new posters part of things is a way to not do that

Bin day . . today was landfill. Fortnightly. I’d missed the previous pick-up, and had to sneak around after dark putting excess bags into other people’s bins. Never thought being a grown up would be like this!

It’s definitely innocent probing. It sometimes makes it easier for new people to have something a bit silly to talk about. And there are no wrong biscuits or cake hehe
