If you've par boiled the spuds cook them as chips/wedges in the oven tomorrow.

I've never found a solution to keeping your feet warm in boots (not necessarily your feet alone, mine feature heavily in the cold foot leagues).

i have some good winter boots... just not good to wear indoors really. my winter boots are half, or a full size bigger so i can get thick socks on, which helps.
