When I lived over on that coast, I often used to do Theddlethorpe. Once did Sandbanks but it was like Blackpool prom.

40 miles inland now, with almost all the local coast built up or mudflats. The sand dunes over there --->E used to provide good shelter from the wind.

That comes from the Arctic or Norway, the easterlies come from the Baltic or Russia.
