Anyone from the UK?

The Aegean coast with a trip out to Cappadocia
I was on the first yacht cruising association flotilla of 12 28 foot Mirage yachts that went into Marmaris. Mid 70s. Turkey just opening to tourism. The Mayor and the Town band were on the quay to welcome us. Marmaris is of course now a huge marina and big tourist destination.

Morning all - looks a nice day out. More leaf cleaning to do after some breakfast.

*Mahlzeit! (A word used here at lunchtime to wish your colleagues a nice lunch break or to scold others for getting up too late)

🤣

*translates as meal time.

Just had waffles... Well, when in...
Medieval Europe?
Waffles originated in medieval Europe, with early versions developed around the 9th or 10th century in what are now Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. The term "waffle" comes from the Dutch word "wafel," meaning "honeycomb," referring to the grid pattern of early waffle irons. Over time, they spread across Europe, with modern versions evolving in countries like Belgium and the Netherlands before being brought to America by Dutch settlers.
