Anyone from the UK?

I see that on google maps now. I am in the early start of the plans so far and this could be a detour to stay for a night. It depends on what time it is when I'm there.
It is the Black Forrest and Eiffel that I'd like to see. Trier is one goal. And then aim for Hameln on small roads on the way to Sweden.
That's quite a ride. There's also the Sauerland on the way.
And of course I recommend Hürtgenwald. Pretty ... educational.

I'm rusty now but 1998 to 2008 I was in the Alps for up to eight weeks each winter. Got as far as falling leaf and going backwards, but never mastered pirouettes on the tops of moguls.

Yes, Sauerland is on that list too. Hürtgenwald was new but is now on the list as well.
Yes, it will be some kilometers....... :D But I have traveled several times though Germany and is familiar with the distance. And I'm no stranger to take the Autobahn if necessary to save some time. I think a week from northern Italy (Trieste) to Scania should be enough.

As I've mentioned a number of times, I was born 2¾ miles from Turf Moor.

No, but they were the first team to score a Football League hat trick and the first to be visited on a matchday by a member of the Royal family.

No secret in that. Jonno is a remote scouser, Iron is Scunthorpe and I keep forgetting Tugs' source of anguish. <embarrassed>
I am indeed. Just watched Sunderland get a well earned draw with Man City. Has anyone heard from Tugger?
