She’s a feral rescue. It’s just a little benign growth. She’s also allergic to nearly everything and a sneak who ends up scratching herself raw after finding her way into some food she’s not supposed to have in the middle of the night. Pain in the damn ass tbh, but she’s cuddly

Sounds like a plan. Any particular dog you would like to have when you can keep one? I have some kind of toy dog in my apartments who’s obsessed with Lulu. Comes to our door every time he goes out to sniff if she’s indoors, sometimes he sticks his head in too when he finds the door a bit open. Cutest thing I’ve seen.
I would love a husky or German shepherd, but that’s probably not realistic

Since the kids are grown, everything else is different though.

Just started reading "Gideon the Ninth" about lesbian necromancers in space. I haven't had too much time to get into it, but it's pretty good in the early going.
Dreading Christmas Eve (it's a lot of work), but Christmas itself should be good. I'm gonna get so much fatter. It will be glorious.

My kids are now 28 and 26 and one's five hours away.
It can be a bit lonely in that sense, but it's all about perspective I think.
The book sounds… unique lol, should be fun

Yes, lots of cookies. And my in-laws do a huge seafood spread on Christmas day. Well... there's tons of different kinds of foods, but all the different fried seafoods are the star of the show.
Seafood? Not turkey?! Sounds delicious though

It's more geared towards finger foods... like fried shrimp and mini crab cakes. Between family, extended family, friends, and neighbors, probably ~80 people will come through my MIL's house on Christmas Day. She'll make enough food to feed 10 times that many.

Though I also like the version of collapsing quietly in front of a movie with wine
