Are Texans?

I've lived here all my life, and I still haven't figured that one out.

We're our own breed, WriterDom. When will the rest of the US learn this. We don't belong to any group.

My post was directed at people that don't hate Texas ;)

Southerner

There's no way you could listen to my accent and say otherwise

you guys are southern westerners..........deep south, but further west............me, im an extreme northerner............shivers..........

DISCLAIMER: PLEASE NOTE: The following post is just a joke! It's not meant to hurt anyone or to defame what is, by most accounts, one damn fine place to live.

Those of us who *are* westerners (native Californian here, btw, fourth generation Californian) do not consider Texans to be westerners. There's a whole attitude (about the environment, for example, or the rights of anyone but themselves) that gets in the way, and, well, there's that godawful accent, too. Westerners don't have accents.
;)

If your attitude towards Texans is indicative of the attitude of all Californians, I don't WANT to be considered a Westerner, thanks.

~sigh~
It was a JOKE!

I'll go fix the original post

Geeze you Texans are twitchy about this kinda stuff, arent you? ~pokepokepoke~

C'mon girl - i know you've got a good sense of humor in there.

~muttering~
Fucking net. You can never see people's faces, hear them giggling as they're posting inflammatory stuff...

cymbidia -

That is a gross over-generalization of Texans. I would assume one with such an open-mind would be less likely to fall prey to such ludicrous stereotypes.

You said your hubby is conservative. Just wondering, and don't take offense, but are you Laura Bush?

This is funny....

I'm sorry I wasn't at my computer at the begining of this thread.... I could have solved this problem for y'all.

There are Texans who are westerners.
There are Texans who are southerners.
There are Texans who are easterners.
There are Texans who are northerners.

Now me..... I'm a southeasterner... I live near Houston...

But I have friends who are northerners..... they live up around Amarillo....... and lavender... she's almost a northeasterner.... up there in Dallas....

You see...... Texas is it's own "not-so-little" country.....

In fact..... you guys from California..... and YOUSE guys from Wisconsin...... are foreigners.....

YEHAW!!!!!

16 hours from east to west...22 hours from north to south...y'all come visit any ole time...just plan on it takin' ya' awhile to reach us. :D

hahahahaha....

Did y'all realize that when you are in El Paso, you are closer to San Diego than you are to Houston.....?

Did y'all realize that when you are in Texarkana, you are closer to Chicago than you are to El Paso....?

Did y'all realize that there are a couple of quirky little clauses in the congressional bill that ratified Texas as a state...... it turns out that Texas has the legal right to divide itself into four separate states... with two senators from each state.... without the need to get congress to approve it. Also.... Texas is the only state that has the right under the U.S. Flag Code.... to fly its state flag at the same height as the U.S. flag.....

These are the little things that happen when a free country (the Republic of Texas) negotiates its statehood....

Now maybe y'all can see just a little bit...why we Texans have such an attitude.....hahahaha.....

TIC....

hahahaha

Here in Texas.... we don't usually ask where somebody is from....
If they're from Texas...... they'll tell you.......
If not..... why embarrass 'em....?

Did y'all realize if Alaska was cut into two states, each state would still be larger than Texas! And we can't have a spot the size of a fucking airport to drill in freezing godforsaken earth because liberals cry about energy prices but don't give a fuck about supply?

...and did ya'll realize that if you divide the UK into 52 separate bits they will STILL be bigger than some islands in the Caribbean...

when i'm at work explaining where in the hell our town is located i tell them it's between houston tx.,shervesport la, beaumont tx, and dallas tx. central north east texas ? give or take a county or two.

Texas...

...it's a whole other country!

Isn't that how the jingle used to go?

Here, I'll settle this. I'm coming to Houston on Tuesday and I'll have to fly west for nine hours. I'll say it's west.

I don't care how they talk, whether they drive trucks, or still believe they kicked Santa Ana's butt. At least there will be sunshine on Galveston and I need a really big dose of it!

The question is will I need a lifeboat?

Well darn it missed this thread cause of RL keeping me away.

I thought Texas was it's own unique place lol

Hey fgarvb1 I must live in the same town as you!;)
