Are there any adults in the Republican Party?

And what did Republicans do those eight years under Obama?

YOU SHOULD BE GODDAMNED SICK AND TIRED OF PARTY OVER COUNTRY, YOU'VE BEEN DOING IT FOR 4 YEARS!! HYPOCRITE!!

Are you a 74 year old granny from Florida? I'm trying to picture someone who writes like you.

The republican leadership needs to step up and acknowledge the results of the election.

I am so goddamned sick and tired of this party over country bullshit.
Agreed... they're not the republican party, they're the fascist party... let's just call it for what it truly is...

Well, this election shows that Repugs can no longer win presidencies with only old, rural white people alone. The vast majority of black, Latino, Asian, along with educated, smart white voters fired the conman.

I'm 54 years old and I've been watching American politics with great interest since Ronald Reagan's first term in the White House. The Republicans back then had some horrible leaders (like Ronald Reagan himself), but they also had some responsible adults (like Barry Goldwater, Bob Dole and Arlen Specter).

Since the 1980's, I've watched as all the responsible adults in the Republican Party have either been forced out of leadership positions or quite the party in disgust.

The Republicans of today are abusive, ignorant, intellectually-lazy children, who threaten to kill reporters, incite violence, praise foreign dictators, brag about sexually assaulting women, try to run buses of the road, publicly defend rapists, send pipe bombs through the mail and organize into unruly mobs who demand that election officials not count votes.

And despite their childish, unruly, irresponsible (and quite often illegal) behavior, the Democrats keep threating the Republicans like adults.

That tactic isn't working.

Republicans are never going to grow up if we keep rewarding their childish, irresponsible behavior.

Media outlets should stop giving Republican leaders free air time if all they're going to do is spew conspiracy theories and childish ideas.

City governments should ban Trump from holding rallies in their cities until Trump pays off his bills from previous rallies and stops using rallies to incite violence.

Twitter should cancel Trump's Twitter account until he shows that he can use it responsibly and not act like a child who keeps trying to disrupt the nation, tell outrageous lies, incite violence and engage in hate-mongering and fear mongering.

Agreed. But they never will.

Democrats are too beholden to corporate money to actually enact policies that are the will of the people and the Media will invent a villain when it does not have one IRL just to sell the story.

Time for a new Party. With this closely split congress 4 senators and 20 House members would have massive clout. The two party system is bullshit. Always was.

Marco Rubio torn to pieces for whining about media only reporting on ‘bad’ COVID pandemic news

More than 2,000 Americans died from the novel coronavirus on Tuesday and hospitalizations resulting from the disease surged to a record high of 88,000.

Despite this grim news, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) complained on Wednesday that the news media is only covering the negative aspects of a pandemic that so far has killed 260,000 Americans in just nine months.

BARELY.....and you guys got fuckin REKT down ticket LOL.

If you think the fight is over and that only old, rural white people will reject the jackbooted thuggery you promote?

You're dumber than the people you're trying to make fun of. :D

BARELY.....and you guys got fuckin REKT down ticket LOL.

Remind me again who won the election for President of the United States?

Enjoy your Trump Concentration Camps while they last, I suspect they'll begin to shut down in less than 60 days.

America rejected you and your fellow Proud Boys jackbooted thuggery by almost 8 million votes.

FascistFan thinks losing a few House seats and maybe winning the Senate equals getting REKT. 80,000,000 voters meanwhile say Dream On, BoBoFloFo.

Look at the state and local bubba....being the party of rioting and looting comes with a price.

Love the projection about fascism too, have you figures out that being a jackbooted totalitarian control freak of a Karen makes you the opposite of a liberal yet???

Well, we ARE talking about the folks who think the 2018 Senate elections (where the Dems won 67% of the seats that were up) were somehow analogous to 1984 (when they lost 49 states). To be fair, that was Dumpington rather than BB, but BB was always first in line to say "Yeah, what he said!". Basically, the logic seems to be when the Republicans win, the Democrats lose; and when the Democrats win, the Democrats lose.

Unable to admit that he lost because he's not as popular as he claims to be, Trump is now claiming that he lost because the FBI and the Justice Department rigged the election against him.

Seriously.

The words that come out of Trump's mouth are just so fucking childish. I couldn't make up stuff this bizarre if I tried.

Scary as this may sound, it seems that this sort of childish, irresponsible behavior is the new normal of the Republican Party.

I’ve seen bullying, childish lies, childish threats, childish ultimatums, name calling, pouting and temper tantrums become very nearly commonplace in the Republican Party, but almost nothing in the way of actual leadership.

Is this seriously the best the Republican Party can do? Aren’t there ANY ADULTS left in the GOP?

For four long years the White House was occupied by an intellectually lazy child who refused to read his intelligence briefings, played golf every weekend, threw childish temper tantrums, whined about how that mean Saturday Night Live was picking on him and told us that the COVID-19 pandemic was just going to disappear like magic.

The Republicans were okay with this.

And now we have a responsible adult in the White House.

The Republicans are NOT okay with that! They can’t stand it when a responsible adult is in charge!

The whole population of USA has been invited by former Republican, Trump Loyalists
to join them in a game of pretend- January 6th attack and invasion never happened,
no such thing as dangerous terrorist rioters, and there is no need to protect lawmakers,
Trump never said anything that would lead anyone to believe that they should Stop the Steal...

But, Trump Loyalists will continue to insist that Trump is still Presiderp,
and the Democrats are responsible for stealing the vote from Trump. They
are still angry that the February/March 2021 edition of accusing Democrats
in court, of stealing the vote from Trump, will not be featured in the news, or
the Trump Loyalist's version of the news. SCOTUS said NO, again.

One more Trump Alternate Universe game- Mike Pence never offended Trump,
andTrump never placed Mike Pence's life at risk.

Mike Pence remains active in the Trump money moving machinery-

"Mike Pence is launching an organization defending the successful Trump-Pence
record of the last four years."

It was great to catch up with Vice President @Mike_Pence yesterday
along with the leadership of @RepublicanStudy. As a former RSC chairman,
VP Pence gave me a lot of great advice & remains an inspiration to RSC
as we lead a consensus conservative agenda to unite Republicans.

Since Election Day, President Trump has thrown endless temper tantrums and refused to admit that Joseph Biden won the 2020 election. He's done everything in his power to discredit the election results, insult Republicans who admit that Biden won, incite violence, and repeatedly insist that he's going to be "reinstated".

Worse yet, there are a multitude of Republicans who are encouraging Trump's childish behavior by echoing his childish pronouncements.

They're like a bunch of two-year old children screaming, "MINE! MINE! MINE!"

Thursday I was struck by how Brett Kavanaugh acted less like a Supreme Court Justice (or even an appeals court judge) and more like a small child, throwing an unhinged temper tantrum. He didn’t act at all like a man who can make important decisions that would affect millions of people while being fair or impartial. He seemed more like a spoiled child who has no experience in having his authority or honesty challenged and has a meltdown when forced to deal with real-world consequences.

Kavanaugh acted like a man that understands the rules of evidence very well. Silence can be considered an admission in certain circumstances.

There ain't no fascist Karens -- that stretches the concept of fascism to a point where it's meaningless.

I guess we're still believing that being a totalitarian control freak is liberalism...but only when (D)'s do it.

Adre certainly believes this.

The reckless and irresponsible leadership of Republican leaders is getting Republicans killed

One thing you can be absolutely certain of when it comes to Republicans: It’s never, ever their fault.

When the nation’s economy collapsed in 2007-2008 as a result of the subprime lending bubble, leading to the worst financial crisis (at the time) since the Great Depression, was it the Republicans’ fault? “Oh no, it was the fault of all those poor, feckless homeowners who took out loans they couldn’t afford! “ When that same colossally incompetent Bush administration blew its response to Hurricane Katrina, putting an Arabian horseshow “czar” in charge of the nation’s emergency relief management and wiping out an entire American city as a result, was that the Republicans’ fault? “Oh no, it was the fault of the city’s Black mayor!”

And when a unified, systematic, collective effort by Donald Trump and the Republican Party to minimize the worst global pandemic to strike this country in over a century led to a huge percentage of Americans refusing to accept a vaccine, was that the Republicans’ fault? When the entire right-wing media apparatus devoted the last year and a half to pooh-poohing the virus, belittling masks, and rejecting social distancing measures, and then denying the efficacy of vaccines; when they allowed ridiculous conspiracy theories to flourish in the face of dire medical warnings, leading to dismal vaccination rates in GOP-dominated states; and when millions of Republican voters who paid attention to all that propaganda now find themselves under siege by a new variant of the same virus, spreading like wildfire among these same vaccine “skeptics,” might that possibly have been Republicans’ fault?

No. It’s—get this—White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s fault! And more than that, it’s Joe Biden’s fault!

As reported by The New York Times, Republicans everywhere are now flailing mightily in an effort to point their fingers to blame the new surge in delta variant COVID-19 infections on anything and anyone except themselves. As Jonathan Weisman and Sheryl Gay Stolberg write, “Amid a widening partisan divide over coronavirus vaccination, most Republicans have either stoked or ignored the flood of misinformation reaching their constituents and instead focused their message about the vaccine on disparaging President Biden, characterizing his drive to inoculate Americans as politically motivated and heavy-handed.”

Meanwhile, the highly contagious delta variant of the virus is disproportionately hitting the least-vaccinated, most Republican states with a vengeance. As reported by Business Insider:

[T]the variant isn't hitting all states equally. Delta cases have risen primarily in states with low vaccination rates, which for the most part are heavily Republican — "red" states such as Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Wyoming. Overall, these states have seen higher upticks in daily cases and hospitalizations than "blue" states that voted Democratic in the 2020 election.

Let’s be clear on something: Variants to the COVID-19 virus are caused by allowing the virus to continue spreading among the unvaccinated, giving it more time and opportunity to mutate. The more unvaccinated people there are, the better the chance of a variant developing and spreading. That’s what led to this delta variant that’s now ravaging the vaccine-refusing Republican population in this country. In simpler terms, Republican intransigence and political pandering created and abetted the conditions that led to the spread of the delta variant and encouraged an environment that allowed it to flourish.

152 years ago, the Republican Party was the party of Abraham Lincoln.

105 years ago, the Republican Party was the party of Teddy Roosevelt.

29 years ago, the Republican Party was the party of Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater.

But the Republican Party of today has dropped dramatically in ethics and is now the party of pro-rape misogynists like Robert Fisher, Bill O'Reilly, Ann Coulter and Donald Trump.

There is basically NOTHING left worth saving in the Republican Party!
