Are These Sentences Equivalent?

Do these sentences mean the exact same thing to you?

(A) Joyce gasped, pulled her lip from me and kissed me back.

(B) Joyce gasped, pulling her lip from me and kissing me back.

Do you prefer one over the other?

For me, the 2nd one is more continuous motion, the first is like a sequence, one after the other. I tend to overuse (B) in my writing.
