ARE YOU ON THIS LIST? LOOK NOW!

Hey Ambro, thats alright.. you are entitled to your opinion. It just kinda gets to me the way that there are so many members on this site, and it is the ones that have been here the longest (who may, in fact, remember last years awards), who oppose this years awards so strongly...

HSWriter

OK then, I don't remeber, I wasn't here. I hope everything goes well for ya' this year. Sorry it is such a hassle.

Oh well, hopefully it will go a little bit better next year...

- this isn't about making the writers feel good or making Laurel happy it's about recognizing the best stories and the best writers.

Don't ask me which is the best story on this site, I don't know and I have no opinion on it. Why would I vote about something I have no opinion of?

yikes, where to begin! Fred H. rolls up his sleeves and digs in.
I thought this would be a bit controversial, but this is ridiculous. You members are taking this business all too serious. All we are asking you to do is nominate your favorite story. This is not about you trying to pick the best story, just a story you like.

So Never, I totally disagree with you on both your points.

Look, you are falling into the same thought trap that Rnightlite is; that this forum is the main part of Literotica. Nominating and voting for stories does make the web page healthy and strong. To drive home that idea I bet there is less than 200 real active members on the forums. If it were not for the story side of the web page I would think Laurel would drop the whole idea.

======
Gingersnap way to go girl! Someone understands all this.

. Fred just decided to harass the top posters on this board.
And yes, I did pick on the top 500 posters for the list as a start, and to maybe give something back for all the use of a free forum. If story nominations are not a little important than why would Laurel post it as a hot item on the main Literotica page and why are some of Literotica's best writers asking for feedback and taking the nomination and voting very seriously. To name a few; Whispersecret, Madame Pandora, Roger Simian and more.

And of course Literotica what's everyone to participate in nominating stories. I thought that was obvious.

So I ask you all for your opinion on something as harmless as what story you like and I'm called a nazi. Isn't that odd; you don't ask people their opinions and they feel left out, you ask them and they curse you.

Like Christ, how long can it take to read a couple stories and nominate them?

Ok, Fred? Are you like the voting nazi or what? Ive voted on the story sections I have read. Im not going to vote on anything else. I dont read the incest stories, i dont read the non consent stories, i dont read the non human stories, so therefore I have no authority to vote or nominate any of them.

Fine: I don't like that type of story also and I also will not be posting in those areas myself. No where in my request did I say you had to post in every catagory. You just assumed so.

Yeah, that's got to suck, but I don't think that the awards are very accurate. I get terrible feedback from my poetry with some calling it a "first effort" "pedantic" "childish" etc. however, I have sold EVERY poem that is on display here, and not to a collection of first time, pedantic, childish writers. Call me biased, but what a publisher says, and how much they are willing to pay means more than any validation the voting can bring.

Just my opinion. Sorry.

It bears repeating, Fred just don't get it.

I have gone to the new stories and read several there, but who am I to say that this writer is better than someone else in the same category. I am sure there are many great writers here who deserve the limelight, but for me to make a nomination at this time would be unfair to the many authors whose works I have not read.

the best story? What is that? NO! Let's say it again, and maybe Laurel should clarify this idea.

I don't think it is about you trying to choose the best story only the ones you like. Literotica as a whole will pick the best story, you just pick several you liked. You see this only works if done in mass.

God! Why is this so hard for everyone to understand.

Yaa! HSWriter and myself are playing good cop and bad cop. Guess which one of us is bad cop?

Not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent, at this juncture. Vote for me, don't vote, I could care less. I haven't nominated anyone either, nor do I see it happening. I'm on the boards or writing my own stuff. That takes enough time as it it. "I only have a limited amount of time here, and I don't want to waste it by looking at stories, especially if I have to go to page 2 of the story section."

Sorry, that cracks me up.

yes, but you have time to make 3047 posts. Again all that is asked of you is to support the writers by nominating a few stories and giving them a bit of feedback. You being a Literotica Moderator, I would have thought you would have understood that story feedback does wonders for encouraging writers to submit.

it only makes the literotica site better by doing so.

At the risk of being redundant, I say again.

FUCK OFF! In fact. FUCK RIGHT OFF!

We are all quite capable of being our own conscience. Look for validation some where else.

Have a pleasant fucking day.

i agree and was one of the ideas I was trying to give input on and help fix. And if no one nominates, the accuracy is going to be none existent. Who knows Laurel may decide not to even bother with it next year.

Fred there must be 1500 authors in the index. Why don't you get as obsessive about them not posting on the bulletin boards as you are about the bulletin board people not voting on nominations?

Yes, controversy abounds!
Ok, if story nominating and voting was such a bad idea, why did Laurel start it and why are so many writers interested in it here at Literotica?

Fred mind if I put your face on some timpany skins?

And that will be bad, how?

ambrosious, so I understand it you would like to see the nominating and voting totally removed from the site? What is next removing all the stories. This sounds like the definition of narrow mindedness. I totally do not understand you and you being a moderator here. I would have thought you would have supported a Literotica management promoted idea. I didn't start the nomination process, Laurel did, and for good reason. Right on the front page she has requested everyone to stop by and make a nomination.

you seem to have a chip on your shoulder because your poems were no well received here. Try a switch and write a story.

Jesus H Christ!

It is Laurel site, she can do as she wishes. Being a moderator in the Online Role Playing area has nothing to do with the voting. I find it a lot like running for student council, the popular kids will win. That is MY opinion, and I am entitled to it. I support the voting, go vote, vote again. I will not vote though.

I don't like all the threads in the ORP section either, narrow minded of me I know. When I don't like the threads, I don't play. When I don't like the voting, I don't vote.

I do have stories here. Thanks for noticing.

Leave me alone now, huh?

so Expertise, rather than being a child; why don't you tell us why you don't like the idea of nominating a story. I don't mind discussing it with you like an adult. And yes, I have been controversial to get this in motion.

You know I think that the majority of people here do read the stories. I just think that when someone goes to the effort to create it is just common good manners to acknowledge it. There are any number of people here who post silly ass thoughts. It is quite a different matter to sit down and work for hours sometimes weeks on a story.

So if you read a story here that touches you or excites you or moves you, what is the matter with letting that person know by way of a vote?

I think in his zealous kind of way Fred was trying to give honor where honor is due. You guys need to grow up and stop attacking someone for cheering on very substance of this site. LITEROTICA note the lit.

You say you get your reinforcement from the money they pay you. Well good for you. You are pissed that someone said your poetry was pedantic and childish. Well dude judging from your posts here.........

good point! I'll send them an e-mail ASAP.

comm'on this is going to hurt anyone... just a little nomination that's all. It could have been done for all the time you have been arguing with me about it. And it's not bad for Literotica. And I will go away if you do it.

hsWriter, yes, your right my e-mails not set up right.
