I think its pretty sad that any person faces the consequences of death for changing thier religion or becoming religious.
Here in North America we find it appaling to think that someone is or could ber persecuted even to the point of death for thier religion, but sad to say it happens a lot more often than one woul like to think about in the world; China, Japan, Afganistan, Russia, etc.
There are almost times, I know this sounds sick but here me out, that I wish there was persecution of Christianity in North America. There is ridicule of christianity but no persecution. I would imagine if there was a North American persecution of Christianity The whole face fo the Christian church would be change. The hypocrits on whom the whole church is based instead of the faithful which actually care would be out of there in a flash at the first thought of endangerment.
i beleive you would see a new dynamic Christianity if that happened.

I do know that peasants tend to be incredibly courteous and will often put up with anything from demented, forceful Westerners, figuring that This cup will pass.
