Just before I toddle off to me bed, a thought.

I have had a wonderful time this weekend becoming acquainted with the voices of a group of wonderful people, and would like this much more personal contact to continue, if only on an intermittent basis.

Somewhere back in the mists of time at the beginning of this thread, Doormouse suggested keeping a permanent audio thread. I personally think its a great idea, a way for us to post thoughts, check out audio-poetry, new songs, whatever. Just a way to post a lazy contribution. Let's face it, talking is way faster and easier than typing.

Is there anyway..(Lou? Techno-bod, McKenna, and any of the others who understand this black magic), that we could do that ?

Or could we just keep this one going, and use it as the base??

The only prob, as far as I can see is how to post the files. I need some urgent IT tuition on how to save my recordings in a postable format.

Ideas?

It is a good idea, but the problem would be cost.

For example, I pay £15 per month for my webspace (which isn't much at all). That includes 1.5 GIG of space, and 10 GIG of bandwidth per month (the amount of info that can be transfered to and from the site).

That sounds a lot and it is a lot, but it would soon go. I have only used 778 meg of bandwidth so far this month (less than a tenth of the max. capacity), but if there were to be a permanent, ongoing thread, that limit would soon be reached.

I would consider setting up a sub-domain, though - where I could design and set up a site specifically for AH audios and so on, but I would have to put a limit on the traffic.

Mat, there is a section of Literotica that hosts sound files -some are people reading their stuff, some are people faking orgasms, etc. I don't know how long they keep their files there, or any of the size requirements, but it's a thought.

As Lou said, there are costs to maintaining a site, and in the short run it's no problem, but the in the long run...
