Drakk, does your character have a nemesis of any kind?

It strikes me that you're going for kind of a vibe of a Robin Hood that couldn't quite pull it off. Or a Robin Hood that couldn't quite stop being Robin Hood even after King Richard came home and flushed Prince John.

He tried returning to a "normal" life and couldn't swing it?

Or. Thought.

The Earth Kingdom never really had a Prince John, as such. (Unless you count Long Feng, who is, let's face it, long gone.) The Earth King's a decent guy, if naive and somewhat distractable. (Like me! Oohsomethingshiny! ...what?) That doesn't mean there can't be a Sheriff of Nottingham out there, forcing your guy to stay on the run, forcing him to ne'er abandon his life of crime.

Maybe he's a combination of The Sheriff of Nottingham and Sam Gerard from "The Fugitive?" A little bit bent, corruption-wise-- he's on the dole for these nobles you keep talking about --maybe a little bit dedicated to law and duty, maybe a little bit obsessive. I dunno, just tossing out ideas, here.

It just seems to me that kiiiinda looking like a Fire National wouldn't be enough to stop him from being able to hang up his conical hat and Badger disguise and Kyoshi-inspired battle-fan, if he really wanted a regular life.

So maybe he couldn't swing it as an average citizen, just couldn't cope. (PTSD, of a sort?) Or maybe some guy wants to grind Ryuodo's bones to make his bread.

Well many good points which I was still developing but here's the gist of it.

He's not like Robin Hood, he's robbing for himself to survive, he takes food and gold so that he will be able to keep himself feed. he takes contracts, work, with different contacts in case someone wants something stolen, but he does not do assassinations or more serious crimes, he prefers to stick to stealing. While he may give some small to those who need it will he keep some for himself as he too will need it.

As for a rival, well it's more like an obessed officer chasing him around to capture him and become famous. A fellow named Jing Dang, an Earth Bender who is an officer in the army and a nobleman, a minor duke, who is attempting to make a name of himself by capturing the only criminal in Earth Kingdom who has never been captured for over ten years. He grows more and more obessed with capturing the Black Badger that he makes many harsh, rash and down right stupid desicions, he got zero in detective skills, average intelligense, though sometimes he's as dumb as rock, vain (he's a noble, duh), he keeps blabbering about thigns like justice and poetry, he believes in justice and will followed the law to the point. He's as skilled with a weapon and fists as a monkey is but still keeps blabbering about his swordsmanship, and his earth bendign skills are that of an average soldier.

Ryuodo has tried to take a leave from his life as a criminal many times but he finds no place to be, even if he was to remove his garments and put on traditional earth kingdom wear would he still gain many distrusting looks as his face, eyes, hair and skin carries the charasteritics of a fire nation man, while his body carries the athletic strength of an earth bender. Thus he finds himself being glared at by at least a dozen people every where he go as the hatred for the fire nation still lingers in the earth kingdom, And he cannot stand the glares as they make him feel suffocated and tatgeted, thus he returns to his disguise as Black Badger after around one week or so after attempting to become part of the civillization, he simply cannot stand the glaring eyes,

And while he has a rival, or a obessed stalking moron, does he have a major villian after him, a noble man, a baron, who is in secret using his family work as wood crafters to hide his seedy work as a high grade drug lord. Ryuodo has destroyed many of his drug stashes and labs as he discovered them, most of them, by incident through his travels. The nobleman's name is Gyo-Dai Kumbai, he's a cunning, greedy, selfish, dark, powerful and influencing man in the Earth Kingdom, his drugs travel all over the world from Earth Kingdom and thus he's the one targetting Ryuodo the most as he's destroying any lab and drug stash he finds in his travels, which has reached over forty by now, of both, making it over eighty heavy reasons for Gyo-Dai targetting Ryuodo.

Hmmm so do you think he is acceptable like this? I have not added some things yet, let how he's not all selfish, just a survivor, though he does not give away too much of his supplies or money do he protect people from rape, murder, abuse and so on, he's a good guy at heart but he's a hardened survivor who has little to spare when ti coems to wealth and food.

I'm personally not fond of the character, for reasons you explained yourself. He sounds too 'hardcore'. Not in a good way, either. More in the fashion that I can't really see anyone interacting with him.
