Um, I haven't read much past my last post...so pretty much anything after that is news to me.

And thanks for the warm welcome Chas!

Azula and Aang are still in this kind of spirit-space, their bodies comatose, while they undergo Energybent changes and Azula gets some of Aang's power. While in this space, they've both had conversations with The Dark Spirit that's caused this mess, Azula's is still happening and Aang's just started talking with Roku.

Sokka and Katara were carted off by healers at the same time as Aang and Azula. Katara's recovered mostly and is now hanging with Toph and Ahren's General Kurzen. Toph is rumpled but mostly unscathed and Katara is trying to help her get smooches from Kurzen. Sokka is being tended by Iroh, as Sokka is flickering back and forth between chills and fever.

Ty Lee is still hurt, but she's hiding it so she can prep for Mai's funeral. She's also comforting Zuko, who's only permitted himself to cry in her presence.

Longshot confessed undying affection for Smellerbee. Smellerbee was dubious, which, I can't blame her, even though Longshot is The Smex.

Appa's mourning out in the garden, just outside the window where Azula and Aang lay in repose, relatively unguarded.

Xia and Ryota are seeking comfort in each other. Um. LIKE THAT.

Also, Calculon came back from the dead to deliver the eulogy at his own burial.

(God, did I miss anything major?)

Well then, I guess I'm all caught up. Thanks loads Chas!

Also, Calculon came back from the dead to deliver the eulogy at his own burial.

I almost fell off my chair laughing at that.

Missed you, dammit.

Aww, thanks. Feels good to be missed.

welcome back Soru!

and I have no idea who Calculon is (ah ignorance) but I suddenly wondered if we had crossovered with the X-Men at some point....

in which case..let us kill Azula ..she most certainly will come back, but her demise will make so many of the Fire Nation(and other nations) feel better.

well she wasn't really dubious (not saying she wouldn't be) just it all went RIGHT OVER HEAD.....

she thinks he was talking about the past.. because she subscribes to chair

but fear not! I shall have her beaten with said chair until she stops being a dumbass..

:: curtseys apologetically :: A poor choice of words on my part, UM. You have my undying apologies.

Also: Calculon.

..clueless.. yes much better than my right over the head explanation

and eh stop apologizing.... for I have a chair

oh yeah.. I remember that episode ..standard soap opera plot twist

Haw, man. You're putting me on the spot, aren't you? Totally haven't created Kurzen's backstory yet. I'm really bad with those.

:: sheepish ::

Sorry. Trying to give the man something to feel comfortable with, something that might be impressive to Toph, something the Fiery general and the ass-kicking queen can bond over. Also trying to distract him with something to think about so Katara can clean Toph up a little while the man's back is turned.

:: sheeeeepish! ::

Just say, "It is written," and then throw in a quote by Sun Tzu or Xiang Yu or something, that's what I do!

Calculon: As captain and head doctor of this ship hospital, I now pronounce you man and wife with six months to live.

Truly, an actor of many talents.

Also, it's awesome to see Soru return around the same time as we get another Water Tribe character. Slowly but surely our numbers are growing, until we're finally able to overrun those bunch of walking, over sized matchsticks known as Firebenders. Yes, slowly but surely. *rubbing hands together while ominous music plays in background*

Yeah but I'm really bad at coming up with "awesome" sequences to regale them with. Especially since there has been no war, it's doubtful he even has a lot of great stories.

"Zhao" had the dubious honour of firing Peter Parker from his pizza delivery job in "Spider-Man 2."

I just saw this, but he's also a commentator on The Daily Show. It's going to be immensely difficul to picture him as Zhao at all after seeing him on that.

Well, there's probably been packets of Ozai loyalists out there, like the Earth Kingdom resistance forces that formed when Ba Sing Se was captured...

(Eazy and I were talking about this the other day. I hope you don't mind my mentioning this, Big E. ^_^; )

...perhaps Kurzen has fought some of these?

Or, absolutely, if you like, I can go back and edit Katara's dialogue, no question, I can absolutely do that.

(...seriously? "The Daily Show?" Man, I need to watch more TV.)

Earth. Bent.

This one time, he was even David Duchovny.

Bad-ass.

(( Slowly but surely indeed... ^_^; ))

Name: Zhuang Liu
Age: 22
Appearance:
Home Land: The Lower Ring, Ba Sing Se, The Earth Kingdom

Abilities: Earthbending (thoroughly developed techniques, rather dangerous, however, focusing not necessarily on brute force but a kind of deadly elegance, "Zen Earthbending," including but not necessarily limited to: Dai Li-style wallcrawling, utilising minuscule projectiles to vicious effect, Sandbending, and [his particular speciality] Glassbending), advanced combat skills (prefers bastard sword or dual-wielded war hammers), educated in a variety of artistic styles.

Bio: Born to a poverty-stricken family in The Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se, Zhuang found himself the focus of attention when he began demonstrating potential as an Earthbender. Thus, his family marshaled their limited resources behind their son, hoping to get him recognised sufficiently that he would attain a scholarship to The University of Ba Sing Se. This, they hoped, would cause him to grow up to become a famous Earthbender, a master craftsman and artisan or even a member of the elite "Terra Team," and that his fame and fortune would allow them as a family to leave the sullied nowhere that was The Lower Ring and perhaps advance to The Middle Ring, if not The Upper.

His younger sister, Xia, often seemed incredulous of all this, and despite her own startling athletic talents, withdrew almost completely from family life, becoming more and more snarkish and violent as time progressed. Zhuang, however, was possessed of a kind heart, and refused to believe ill of anyone, least of all his own sister, when they had the potential to rise above themselves.

Zhuang's focus, however, had to remain primarily inward if he were to accomplish the tasks set out before him by his mother and father. There were neighbour boys and neighbour girls who had also been born with the gift of shaping Earth, but it was Zhuang's sworn duty to rise above all of these, to glorify himself and his family with his own gift. The pressure was unbelievable, but he thrived on it, greeting each new challenge with a stalwart smile and a can-do attitude.

(This ability to conquer his goals only served, unfortunately, to cause him considerable inward frustration. It became readily apparent that while possessed of a fantastic dexterity and the ability to weave tiny objects through tiny gaps with preternatural speed and accuracy, he lacked the gross motor skills to power-lift massive chunks of stonework, as some of the more legendary Earthbenders could do. He won many of his challenges only by the skin of his teeth and through sheer ingenuity, and would tell himself in retrospect that these "should have been easier.")

During the occupation of Ba Sing Se, Zhuang attempted to rally some of his fellow Lower Ring Earthbenders to mount a resistance against the encroaching Fire Nation. Unfortunately, against the vastly superior training of the Firebenders, a few (literally) ragtag Earthbenders stood no chance at all... Zhuang watched as one by one his cohorts fled in terror and were roasted to crisps as they ran. Zhuang alone stood his ground, though he was pinned under an onslaught of rubble knocked down onto him by a blast from a Fire Nation tank. Unable to prevent the quantity of stone from collapsing on him, he could only cushion the impact and dig himself out bit by bit afterwards... He emerged with no less resolve, but he would carry the secret of that humbling event with him for many years.

Only two things saved him: the discovery of a knack for shaping the fused-silicate amorphous solid known as glass, Bending and shaping it as with an advanced form of Sandbending at which he seemed very much a prodigy; and the subsequent recognition of this ability by one of The University's most renowned arts professors, and his eventual securing of that sought-after scholarship for Zhuang. He was able to enter The University years ahead of schedule, and pursue what would amount to a doctorate in Earthbending. While his scholarship was primarily intended for sculpting classes, Zhuang never could quite let go of the desire for self-improvement in the matters in which he found himself lacking, and took very many elective classes in continued Earthbending combat.

In his struggle to eliminate this shortcoming, Zhuang began to split his time: his days were given to the kata and chi exercises of The University Earthbenders and his evenings he would spend in studio refining his artisanship with The University sculptors, demanding criticism of them. Often, he would take their breath away, though more often he would leave his works unfinished, distracted by what he perceived as a new and greater challenge.

In the last year or so, Zhuang mysteriously abandoned this education, leaving the remainder of his considerable funds to the parents from whom he received an endless font of encouragement. He might have left some to his sister, but she had all but vanished off of the face of The Earth.

Zhuang has left Ba Sing Se. And indeed left The Earth Kingdom, eschewing even the traditional greens and golds and browns of Earthbenders for a greyish motif that represents a more... ambiguous... side of Earthbending.

It is whispered among arts students at The University that their prodigy believed, as he ever had, that every person in The World should strive to rise above their station and become more than they are, should always believe the best of each other and strive for the best in themselves. This idealism never wavered once, even to the detriment of his sanity...

It is whispered that he... fractured... like the glass he became so skilled at shaping. That he still strives for the best and greatest both in morality and talent... but this has become refracted.

Through a glass darkly.

Nah don't edit it. It's important for him to get development. I just can't promise how quickly I'll post or that it'll be any good when I do.

Soru hath returned!

*And stares in horror @ UM for not recognizing Futurama reference*

Sorry for lack of posting on my part the last few days. Been job hunting and since its finally decided to reach above 40 here (ZOMG!) I'm actually spending time outside.

You don't need to promise that it's good.

I believe in you, Ahren One.

-_- I wish I could get rid of that number.

Yeah. :: sheepish ::

I know what you mean.

How many times a day do I wish I'd put a space in my name and captialised the "n" in "Nicollette?" ...I didn't think you could.

Pssst.

Lily!

You rock hardcore.

(Just thought you should know.)

No problemo. I've actually made passing comments about it in the OOC, since I figure Azula has to pick up her fresh recruits from somewhere. Gotta have the random assortment of bending fodder villains, after all.

Funny enough, despite occasionally catching The Daily Show, I can't put my finger on anything he did. Probably doesn't help that I tend to treat it more like a radio show by generally having it on while reading or typing online. But I do remember his character in Spider-Man 2, so at least we know he has experience with ruining the lives of angst ridden teenagers. heh

Soru hath returned!

Spending time outside and away from the computer?

*points finger accusingly as he shouts in booming voice* TRAITOR!

*Hangs head in shame*
I... I know.... I- feel so dirty...

The sun! IT BURNS!!!

Posting on Lily's behalf will resume late Wednesday, or when hangover is over.
Whichever come first.

Soru hath returned!

As a great man once said, "We are but shadows and dust." The light just so happened to cast my shadow long enough for me to come back for a bit. (See: Spring Break is here! Huzzah!)

Also, Ahren, if you can get a hold of a moderator or a Lit Admin, you can get your name changed easily. The hard part is getting their attention.
