Jal Ficowski drove his caravan through the narrow streets of yet another small English village, looking for a likely spot to camp for the night. He knew that authorities would never allow him to stay in the town proper, but if he camped on the side of the road outside of town, he might be allowed to stay, and so attract some business. His businesses varied, from telling fortunes to fools, to telling tall tales, to mending pots and pans.
He was a wiry man, with lean muscles and dark olive skin. His black hair at shoulder length and was held back by a leather band. His nose was aquiline and his face was weathered, but handsome. He wore a red vest, a tan button up shirt and tight trousers. His wagon was painted in a variety of colors, with floral designs and patterns, all meant to attract attention. Two sturdy ponies, named TIp and Tap, pulled it.
It had been a year since his beloved Illiana had died and he still preferred to travel alone. Traveling with her family had brought back to many painful memories. After a year though, he along felt ready to rejoin them. He had been an orphan, taken in my Illiana's uncle, and had taken the family surname and become part of the clan.
Finally he managed to move through the town and found a spot to park. On the edge of the village was a pub, and he parked just beyond it, hoping that it would not be to close, or to far.
