Refering back to your reply to Huskie, Over half of the people of this nation do NOT believe that this is a war. At the very most they believe it to be an organized crime problem. Whereas the radicals, radicals of all sorts, not necessarily Muslim, know to their very core that it is a war and behave accordingly. All of which puts the 'defense', us, at a decided disadvantage and the longer you play defense the harder it gets.

Couple that with Carville's reaction (and memo to his party) to Bush's approval ratings, and we again see that the only war we will be allowed to "win" is a Democrat war which means rat-shit little engagements like protecting Islam in the Balkans from Christiandom because it wasn't judged to be a "fair" fight and defeating Republicans at home, no matter the consequence...

Now the defeated urge us to be good Indians and obey our victors.

That sums it up and explains to a 'T' the reason the left gravitates to the radicals. If they want war to be 'fair', then they should adopt something like the Aztecs 'War of the Flowers.' That is if they can get the other side to agree. But they can't get that agreement and they never will. Mainly because the other side understands that 'fair' doesn't win wars.

We know what our President has said about our weapons systems, he's willing to stand down to Putin's desires and he's willing to stand down to China's demands on Space-based Weapons, so he is clearl;y showing that he is willing to level the playing field and thusly easing the tensions created by the Bush Administration.
