I'll second that! Or just be outside comfortably, period! I really miss taking bike rides and heading down to the park down the street with the dog and hitting the trails. All though I wish we could skip spring rain all together so I didn't have to give the dog a bath every time she set paw outside the door. Nothing worse than that wet dog smell.

Growing up, we had a half Irish Setter/half Labrador Retriever. He loved snow. He loved rain, as long as there was no thunder. My dad fenced in the yard so he could be outside with us. I grew to ignore the wet dog smell.

Z is the same way. She LOVES to be outside. I have been ignoring it lately, since it's been so frigid cold out, I didn't give a damn cause I was too cold to stand outside and give a total bath. She's part boarder collie and part Lab. She looks like a B.C. on steriods lol My folks have a horse farm, so when we are out there wich is a lot, I just ignore it all. I actually enjoy the smells of the farm.

Horses

I have an aunt that still owns a farm, on which she has several therapy horses. During the summer, she would give her workers time off, and have her many and many nieces and nephews take over the duties. From the age of 13 until 16 I was the "Stall and Shed Mucker." Every other day, I'd shovel shit!

I do miss the smell of freshly lain hay.

Haha!! Yea... picking up road apples and tending to the stalls isn't exactly my idea of fun either. I'd rather clean the tack room and trailers then do stalls!! I have to agree with the fresh lain hay. Especially when mixed with the smell of the grasses from the pasture. But I can't stand being up in the hay loft when we are putting it away for the season. That's one of the chores I'd like to pay someone else to do. But thankfully we only do it 2 or 3 times a year.

She would pay us to help with the hay loft work: We'd get money and her employees would get pizzas and longer breaks.

I'm trying to convince the folks that they should put in a pool. They've got so much open land near the house, it would be a lot of fun after all that farm work. ;) But I think the grandkids enjoy the gator/atv rides too much as of right now.

There are several "swimming holes" on one's farm. She also has great snowmobile trails, some that hook up with other farms. In the summer, the kids from all the local farms "race" their atvs, causing the sheriff's department - composed mostly of MY relatives LOL - to "chase them and be upset." (Once a week someone calls into the office complaining of either a large teen party or atvs scaring the chickens. The deputies would paper-rock-scissors for who'll go out and "check out" the problems. An hour later, the deputy or deputies would come to the aunt's farm, get lemonade or water, "complain" about not finding anyone, and get back LOL)

Haha!! I LOVE small town stories like that! The only 'swimming holes' on our farm are the ones out in the pastures that the horses use. lol I'll pass on swimming in those. I'd rather have that pool.

There's on big pasture hole, the cows and other animals use. The workers have always kept that one up well, you could swim in it, but it was best to leave it for drinking. She has a swimming hole that's a collapsed garnet mine that filled in with rain water and two springs, that's well hidden, only a few of us knew about it ;)

That is the nice thing about country swimming holes... no suites required

Good afternoon, fellow frigid people.
I look out the window right now and we've already had a couple inches and counting.
Going by the pile on top of the cars outside, it's easily 3-4 inches.

THIS IS NOT MARCH WEATHER!

You ain't joking!! But keep that snow over by you John!!! Ours is finally melting! We don't want any more of that white shit over here! ;)

Especially when you've worked several hours in a steamy barn and the hose down by a farm hand just cleaned off the shit, but didn't cool you down.

MMmmmm.... almost makes me want to break out my 'workin' shorts and bikini top and head for the water. Summer needs to get here fast!

Yes it does!!! I need to get out of the offices!!

lol I can imagine!! I've always wanted to attend one! But there isn't a whole lot of that kind of thing around here, unfortunately.

I had the fortune to be on AOL during the halcyon days of the late 90s/early 2000s, when the BBW chatrooms would be full of people organizing them, or sharing the information about them. The last one I attended was in 2003, there were over 300 people attending, and the pool at one point was full of women ;)

Oh man!! AOL! lol I can almost still hear the dial tones of signing in.

That's quite a turn out!! I can't even imagine!! Nothing but women in the pool... isn't that almost like a dinner bell ringing for you guys? Or do you just stand there and salivate? ;)

I had some friends I talked with during that time. I sat and watched, as did a couple of the women, as we tried to talk about books

Sorry I missed you Bee. I took today and Friday off with this cold so I slept in a little bit.
