Today is a great day! Finally through the deep freeze of winter. The sun is out, and in a few hours I will be, too!

Grrrrr... It's raining here, again. We have had so much moisture the last two weeks that the ground is not soaking it up, it just puddles and runs into the creek out back. And I think the sidewalk outside is starting to mold. I want sunshine!!!!

Thankfully no flooding here! Just a seesaw of single-digit and 40s temps for the past few weeks. I'm surprised I'm not sick or dead out here with the rapid changes.

True. Flooding not good. I did my time filling sand bags against the mud slides when I was much younger. It is the southern california mountain thing.. brush fires followed by mudslides.

The Stockade part of my city - where the Dutch trappers built a fort across from the Mohawk "village" in the 1600s - always floods this time of year.

Insight to sports history in my city: In the late 1890s/early1900s it flooded so much, that a street would become marsh-like and "host" many frogs. This street was nicknamed "Frog Alley" and gave birth to the team Schenectady Frog Alleys or Frog Alley Bunch, depending on which historian you believe.

All this talk about sun and swimming has me itching for summer. I think i can just vote to pass over spring and go right to summer.

Also, I meant it was 4 miles to get there, although to be honest
the "beach" in my town is this like... 100 foot stretch of sand.
It's pittiful and smelly and small.
There is a nice dock 4 miles from my house with a 2 story gazebo.
The few times I did those 8 miles, I'd go, hang out for a bit, then come back.
You can basically sit there and stare across the bay to a lighthouse that's on LBI.
(lol, And I just realized how obvious it makes my town known if you know the area.)

My town, despite being a seaside town, has little to do down at the shore side.
It's all crappy old apartments, houses from the 50s, and boat docks.
Not a single restaurant or boardwalk or anything remotely interesting by the shore.
It's a waste unless you wanna launch your boat or go crabbing.
My town in general is a black hole, there's just nothing here.

Nah, a quaint town describes a town that has simple charm to it.
My town lacks any charm, and yet still plays small town in the way it operates
no matter how big our population gets.

I'm not exactly a benefi to have in an town.
