Thank you :)

I survived a small purge at the company where I'm working, plus survived helping some of the younger coworkers deal with that purge today.

You are welcome!

Oh that is good..Glad to hear you survived that....That is good you were there for the younger coworkers!

The company was like a middle-aged man: Porky around the middle. They had twice too much middle-management people. They were going to let go and fire on Thursday past, but those in HR that were to do it were sick, so held off until yesterday.

This morning, my office was filled with some 20somethings, scared that they were going to lose their jobs. I told them in plain economic sense, for every manager/supervisor let go yesterday, two or three of them had a job. The company was paying too much, in salary and benefits, to them.

Hate that it had to happen...Economy sucks!

That is good they had you to come talk to and that you were able to get them to listen to you!

Not so much the economy as to one of the co-owners HATES to fire people. LOL Who needs a union when the Chief Operating Officer does terminate.

My office and the hallway next to it were filled with people getting stuff off their minds and chests. Nothing got done until after lunch, and by then I was at my "other" office.

I'm not the oldest person working there, but it seems I've been through the most terminations and company problems LOL

Good evening everyone :)

RJ! I have been wondering if we lost you when we had to move to a new thread! Glad to see you back!

This sounds like my company... getting soooo bloated with managers.. we are waiting for the huge purge.. there was one in the 80s... not sure you could pay me to move into management at this time unless the $$$ was really good!

Whee! post 2000! :cattail:
