It was a hot evening over the Los Angelos area. As the sun went down it didn't stop the wave of humidity that went over the city. As people walked by they wore basic necessities to try and beat the heat. Of course the upper class still wore far too much, but then there was the young ones. Women wearing shorts that barely hid the flesh of their ass; young men shorts with no shirt revealing if you were lucky a hard body six back. Sometimes it was the exact opposite in terms of what one wanted to looked at but to someone it did not matter. Why waste time putting on so much when God throws the very heart of the sun down. Cover your shame and risk heat stroke, or wear what you want and enjoy the liberation you could have.

A taxi cab drove along the busy city streets. The heat was bringing the best and the worst out of people it seemed. Cars were honking at each other to hurry the fuck up, people were dancing under water fountains. Lovers were thrashing they day away in the throes of passion; their bodies dripping sweat over olive skin curves. All of this he could feel, see an hear just from this simple drive in his car. A man stared out over the city streets seeing all walks of life around him. It was about time for his bar to be ready for business; always a good night at the Club Cherub. However there had been property that had held onto his attention for someone time not but a block or two away. It had been a church that had been still in use but it was hardly the holiest.

The man in the cab looking upon his phone held some emails from some government employees he had in his pocket. Long red hair draped down the sides of his dark olive skinned complexion. His gold pupils staring at the emails that came with the daily grind of business. Truly the price for his establishments was dealing with dull mortal affairs. His long hand came up to his chin have a small beard trimmed to a point. He wore very simple clothing at the time, he wore a black underarmor vest with a pair of tight athletic shorts; a pair of sandals to finish his attire. It was rather unremarkable but he couldn't give a fuck over his clothes. These mortal constraints withheld a six foot masculine form of lean muscle like a statue; years of physical training to achieve a form that the Greeks would die for. His facial features sharp and with his gold eyes he was not a creature to leave your wife alone with.

To call him a man was quite the mistake, few could understand what he truly what. A devil bound to only the sweetest temptations. Mavick was a Devil of Lust and Temptations; playing in the mortal realm was like a playground for him. And as they closed in on this old church a grin began to grow on his face; to purchase the property would have so many opportunities along with it. The man felt the cab come to a halt and he simply stepped out of the cab with a lean strong leg leading him. Standing full now he was quite a sight to behold; he looked so out of place but with the beauty that accompanied him no one was ever the wiser. Suddenly a voice came at him from the cab.

"Will that be all Mavick?" Spoke the cab driver a man in his late 40's who was shaking but not from fear but from utter pleasure. Mavick smiled as he stared over the cab door to see the rather perfect ass staring back up at him. The cab driver looked down to the woman going down on his hard cock; a blonde beautiful young thing who smiled back up at the driver. Her tongue slowly ran up the length of his cock. Mavick smiled as he stared at the two and he slowly leaned down with a devil's grin. "Indeed my friend...enjoy her." The devil smacked the hood of the car and with rather erratic driver pulled out. Slowly her turned to face once grand cathedral that had no doubt seen better days.

The brink work still in tact, the roof was missing minor sections that had fallen off, most of the windows were decent. And that was only from the outside. Mavick stared at the old building and pondered the events that may have led to such a grand structures demise. Of course he knew some of the details, this part of Los Angeles and the west coast in general did not have he devotion of the east coast. Well, devotion was there but it was not as easy to find. That mixed with a booming economy at the time; profit began to beat out religion was probably this churches old story. Mavick saw only constraints and bonds as he looked upon this Church; human beings forced to not see the simple nature of the world.

As he walked around though he felt something that caught him off guard. He felt something he did not expect in the midst of this sign of broken faith. But that was just it, it was faith in itself. It was pure and smooth as silk, potent in its ways. There was no denying the curiosity in his bones and in his very nature. Mavick began to walk up the stone carved stairs that had seen their taste of spray-paint cans; remarkably there was not a single dab of paint on the walls of the church. His golden pupils stared almost impressed that this place had not been touched by a construction crew. There was a small hint of fear though as he approached the doors; only for a moment as he stared at the door like a chess player.

"Now then...are you there my friend...are you watching me enter this place. I don't think you are...and I don't think you have in a long time." Then rather suddenly he pushed the doors opened to reveal the steeple in its full glory; no wave of resistance and nothing to hold him back. His grin only grew longer as he looked upon this dusty old building. The buttresses were still holding up strong, a few of the pews had cracks. All around him were pictures of the human lord and savior; Mavick could not help but stare upon one of the dusty idols of Christ and see it with disdain. The whole area held the smell of trapped air as the sunlight peered through the broken windows. It only got hotter in here with only fans blowing; a few beads of sweat traveled down his body and into his clothes.

True...he could have stopped himself from sweating, but why bother. Why not let yourself feel the heat of the city. The heat of its own sin boiling it down into a melting pot of taboo. There was no denying how much he loved this city. For now though, something was indeed in here...or someone.

Innocence.. defined as .. Freedom from sin, moral wrong, or guilt through lack of knowledge of evil. Freedom from guile, cunning, or deceit...

Her very name dripped of that word. Nevinne, which truely meant Innocent.

Nevinne was an angel. Yes, one of those heavenly angels that mortals sing about, write about, or paint in magnificent pictures. Stories, poems, movies, lullabyes, all written about those beautiful, ethereal creatures.

With crystal clear eyes, skin that was as creamy and supple, flawless, moist pink lips, and wings of sparkling, pearl, white, Nevinne was a stunning, striking angelic vision.

She was not a guardian angel, she was not a warrior angel. She did not guard the heavenly gates, nor escort the incoming souls. She was just... Nevinne. Young, innocent, sweet. Her favorite thing to do in the whole of the heavens was watch the eagles soar over the world below. She found that world utterly fascinating, and spent hours, which in the reality of that world, was centuries, watching. She often longed to interact, to reach out to the mortals below, often times it was the children that caught her attention, that she longed to reach out to. Interaction with animals was allowed, and Nevinne many many times would visit a nest of a great bald eagle, or run with the wild horses on the plains, or cuddle with the wolf cubs in the north. But only for the briefest of moments, to set foot upon the mortal plain woke up the evil that lived below. Interaction with humans, mortals, themselves, was a whole different story. Only a selected few were allowed that priviledge, only a selected few could stand among the mortals and be immune to the wrath of the Fallen One, only a chosen few were strong enough to withstand the temptations, the evil, that lurked beneath the mortals. A Fallen Angel, Lucifer, was quite dangerous if one forgot who it was you were dealing with. Needless to say, Nevinne was not one of those selected few.

Perhaps she should have been. The girl had a way with the animals, and surely that would translate to working with the mortals without scaring them half to death. It was a delicate process, to work with a mortal and not send them raving into the depths of madness. Of course most of the Fallen One's Demons cared less, and sent many a mortal to that horrifyingly dark place, and it was the Angels job to lead that mortal out of there. If the senior Angels had even taken a notice of Nevinne, perhaps they would have realized she could have easily done that, without snapping the mind of the mortal in the process.

But, they paid no heed to the young, innocent angel.

She had been watching the lost child for the better part of a day. Well, a day in the child's world. A bare few minutes for the angel. The little girl had managed to wonder away from the babysitter at the local park. Nevinne was desperately trying to guide the girl back to where she needed to be, without interacting with her. Placing objects to impede the little girl's progress away from safety, even go so far as to whisper to the girl, where to turn, be careful there, don't go down that alley. But the little one was scared and the voice she kept hearing only scared her more.

When Nevinne saw the House of God, apparently on Martin Grove Road, that was what the sign on the corner said, she breathed a sigh of relief, except the girl was running right past there, crying, the sun having set, the darkness all the more scary to such a tender soul.

"no no no no no"
she said outloud, to herself. That was it, she would have to get the girl in there herself. It was pretty simple. Angelic wings were not visible to mortals unless the angel wishes it so, so Nevinne's gleaming, pristine, snow white wings would not be an issue. Explaining this to the higher angels when she was done, that would be no fun. But she was not about to let that little girl be alone, in the dark, terrified. It was better that she intervene now, than later, if the girl ended up being.... well.. in the presence of anyone unsavory. Just the thought made the innocent angel shudder. But, truth be told, Nevinne's experience with "unsavory" was nil, none, nothing. The angel was a true innocent.

When the girl ran around a corner, Nevinne was there. The girl ran right into the angel, almost falling backwards, but Nevinne was fast, easily catching her and halting her fall.

"well.. sweetheart, where are you going so fast... and why.... why are you crying?" Her voice was so soft, so soothing, almost seeming to curl around the little girl in a warm, tight hug. She looked like any other 19,20,21 year old. Long chestnut brown hair with highlights of sunshine seeming to glow within, and the clearest, crystal, almost white eyes. Nevinne had no time to alter her clothing tho, so she did surely resemble the angel that she was, in a silken white shift of a dress that lightly flowed around her.

"lost, I'm lost" the little one wailed, fully trusting the beautiful angelic seeming woman in front of her, and grabbing on as if holding on for dear life. That was not an unusual effect that the angels often had when before a mortal.

What Nevinne did not know, because she was not one of the higher, more priviledged angels, was that, again, when one of them walked the world of mortals, that certain entity knew it immediately. The Fallen One, in the depths of the hell that he had created. To tempt, to corrupt, to possess the soul of an angel, was a powerful aphrodisiac for the Dark One, Lucifer. And this angel, was unprotected. He was not about to let this opportunity get by him. He, himself could not approach the innocent creature. But one of his Demons, surely.

And what a better place to approach her, than in her own house, on Martin Grove Road, only this church had suffered, and much like Lucifer himself, fallen. It was no longer safe, it was no longer innocent. It was a good thing the little girl had not run in there on her own.

Nevinne, meanwhile, lead the little one to that very church, pushing open the creaking old door to step inside. It was dark, a bit musty, but the lack of dust buildup told her it was still in use, however infrequently. Who it was in use by, was a whole other question. What they did find there, was a working phone, which was what was needed. The little girl rattled off her memorized phone number and within a few minutes the call was made, the hysterical parents and contrite babysitter informed, the police picking up the little girl, and all was back to normal. The ramshackle old church was quiet again.

Altho Nevinne, did not leave right away, even when the cop suggested that such an innocent girl get the hell out of that side of town. She felt perfectly safe in the house of God, and shoo'ed him on his way. She sat inside, almost sadly wondering what had become of this house of the Lord. It always saddened her when one of the physical houses crumbled and that happened all too often. She bet that back in it's day, it was simply gorgeous, and she could almost hear the choir singing, voices praying, the soft chorus of AMEN rattling it's way to the rafters.

Now, it just sat silent...

That is until she heard that same old, weatherbeaten door, creak open with an loud thud as whoever it was stepped inside....

It did not take long for Mavick to turn his head and look upon the dazzling body creature standing among this church. His eyes held her in such awe, he looked up and down her body as if she were a part of a museum exhibit. Of course with her wings in full display, the mortal would not notice but he could see them for all they were worth. A part of him was confused at first, was this a trap set for him. Brilliantly constructed if that was the case, but as the two people stood in silence...nothing happened. The building did not explode and there was no sudden rush of angels coming to kill him yet. So there was no trap to be sprung upon him.

Mavick's eyes looked around the old church as he took another few steps towards the angel. He was about 15-20 feet away still. As he walked forward he became more focused on this lone celestial that was ever so beautiful for him to state upon. At this point there was no need to rush anything and she seemed surprised that someone came in. The thought came to him after a moment and a rather long grin came upon his face. The man gave a slight bow and opened his arms as he bowed.

"My apologies..." He spoke with a sweet and rich tenor of a voice that made him all the more charismatic. As he walked through lights coming through the church window it only seemed to accentuate his tight body all the more. Making the beads of sweat glisten upon him. Oh how he wished to see the beads of sweat travel down her body; but the flowing sheet around her held back what he could only imagine...angelic perfection. His gaze focused on her body so that he would give no clue to that he could see her wings.

"I did not mean to disturb you in this house of God." This young girl did not seem to hold the battle hardened senses of the other angels. She did not try to escape from him yet...but to miss on such an opportunity he would not have it. Mavick played his cards slowly at first. Gauging the creature that stood before him in all her beauty; the supple nature of her body. The way her hair slowly trailed down her body...oh he was going to take his time.

"Are you a part of the flock; a vision such as yourself, you seem like you belong here?" He spoke in playful words that fell of lips lips like honey on a sugar cube. The devil began to slowly close the distance keeping his aura at bay as to not alert her. Like a tiger he approached the young girl with the innocent intentions that followed. Every part of him wanted to reach out and play but he knew better. It was what made him a devil rather then a demon. Just brash action would get you killed in Hell.

But here, it was anyone's game...and it seemed that a sheep got lost from the herd. His grin was ever so wide now as he could feel her celestial aura ever so slightly. In all do time his aura would carefully graze along her; just to see how far his power could go; but for now his patience won the day.

Nevinne turned to the sound of the old door of the church opening. Perhaps it were the caretaker? Maybe she could speak to him, even help him clean the sanctuary up some, to make it more inviting for those that sought to pray there.

Her crystal clear eyes instead came to rest upon a man.

Her first thought was, she was not supposed to be there, she was not supposed to interact. But there was something about him, something that kept the angel rooted in place, not moving.

"My apologies..."

What beautiful voice, she thought. Surely he could sing in the choirs of heaven someday.

"I did not mean to disturb you in this house of God."

"oh, kind Sir, you are not disturbing. The house of the Lord is always open to all" her own voice was as soft as the touch of silk, caressing, soothing, a satin glide of heat that seemed to curl ever so lightly around one's mind. The voice that often people hear in dreams, simply because Angels often communicated within one's dreams.

"Are you a part of the flock; a vision such as yourself, you seem like you belong here?"

Nevinne blushed slightly at his words, her cheeks coloring a pretty dusky pink. She had never garnered such attention before, as the man approached her, his gaze was heated, roaming over her, almost seeming to touch her in places that even she knew she should not be touched. She found herself gathering her wings around her supple form, the soft white shimmering feathers fluttering.... covering her from his insistant stare.

"I do belong here" she answered. "All are welcome, all belong here, as do you....." she paused. What was his name? Had he told her??

"I am Nevinne" she canted her head in greeting, a tendril of her dark hair falling forward, tickling along downwards, to curl ever so slightly at the curve of a breast, just where the wings met.

There was something about him, she was not sure what. He reminded her of Gabriel, and Michael, the Warrior Angels she so admired in the heavens. He had a strength about him, mysterious. It never occurred to her he could be anything other than human. Not yet anyways. She had not been taught in the ways of demons and devils, again not yet. The fact that this human had the most striking golden eyes, that almost seemed to be alive, to flicker with some unseen power, in her innocence, she missed that small sign.

But Nevinne was not weak. She had an aura about her, pure, sweet, and so completely innocent, that Lucifer himself would not be able to approach the girl. It would take a certain charisma, a certain temptation to slither his way in, to slowly, ever so slowly, destroy that purified wall that kept the angel safe for the moment, that kept her soul inaccessable to any from the Fallen's realm.

She turned to let her own clear eyes take in the beauty of the church once more.

"I know this place used to be beautiful. Have you come here before? Do you seek.... help? Guidance?"
