Behind the Scenes (closed)

"So how much did you see?" She asked her face bright red, knowing he had seen her naked. "I should get dressed. I'll be out in a couple of minutes, okay?"

"Relax. Our relationship still has a PG-13 rating" craig smiles to put her at ease. "I will see you in the room."

After he left she dried off a little before pulling on a tank top and a pair of pajama shorts. "So how does it feel being the first guy to see me naked?" She asked walking out and sitting on his bed.

His eyes widen at her comment. Trying to conceal his surprise, craig finally says. "You are insanely beautiful, love. But honestly, I didn't see much. Not that I am disappointed. If and when the time is right, I will do more than just seeyou naked."

From inside the sheets, he flips the top down and invites her to join him once again.

She laid down "are you tired?" She asked snuggling up to him "I could stay up awhile longer if you want me to..."

Craig wraps his arms around Lilly from behind. Wanting to talk to her more and let sleep carry them away. He was fully aware of the feel of her breasts against his arms. Her hair smelled wonderful. Craig also loved the contented sigh.

He nuzzled the back of her neck and kisses it. Then the questions started...

"Even though I didn't see anything, how does it feel me being the first guy to see as much of you as I did?"

"What play would you want me to be the male lead with you most? "

"What would you like me to cook for you for breakfast?"

"I'm not sure how I feel about it..." She said running her hand over his arm "it would be nice if you where doing this play with me." Lilly took a deep breath 'you really don't need to cook me breakfast."

Craig laughs softly. "Well it would be rude of me to eat alone." He nuzzles into Lilly's splayed hair. She feels his kisses descend the back of her neck and down between her shoulder blades before kissing the exposed shoulder.

One of Craig's arms releases the embrace. His hand slipping onto the outside of her thigh. The touch made Lilly jump a little. But he made no effort to move it.

"I can get up and leave early. I don't want to ruin your morning..." She said moving his hand away "maybe we should get some rest..."

He wraps his arm back around Lilly. "It would ruin my morning more if I didn't get to enter the day with you."

Finally, he asks boldly. "Lillian, why don't you relax and just let me love you. I already promised that I would not have sex with you tonight. I'm ok with you removing my hand from your thigh, but is there something wrong?" Craig continued, "you make it sound like you are a burden to me. Nothing could be further from the truth."

"We've only been dating a couple of hours and I'm here, I'm your bed." She said "I just feel like I'm not being fair to you. I won't have sex with you yet but I'm still letting everything else more along pretty fast." Lilly sighed looking at him "I'm nervous. I have no idea what I'm doing. You're my best friend and I'm laying in your bed with you."

Craig smiles at Lilly content with her reply — mentally noting that she didn't remove his hand from her thigh. Nor did she ask him to. But he did it anyway.

"Thank you for being blunt with me." Craig continued. "All I want from you is the opportunity to love you. That means time, not sex. When the time is right, Of course I want to make love...err...scratch that. When the time is right, I will 'express' my love for you."

Craig gets an idea and kisses Lilly softly, but romantically on the lips before crawling out of bed and ducking out of the room.

Moments later, he returns with a key to his place attached to a lanyard. Craig crawls back into bed with the woman of his dreams, placing the key in her delicate fingers. "This does not mean I am asking you to move in with me yet. I am just wanting to give you a place where you can go to get away from the hectic campus life."

Craig's mouth finds Lilly's with another kiss, fully content with his decision to offer a key.

"I can't accept this." She said sitting up "this is exactly my point. We are moving fast. Way too fast. I'm not ready for this." She got up looking for her bag "maybe I should just go back to my dorm tonight."

"I'm certainly not going to hold you against your will." Craig explained as he got her bag. "And I hope what I did hasn't ruined my chances with you."

Craig knew he was moving too fast. He was never one to wait for circumstances to align for pursuing what he wanted. This costhim in landing roles. This cost him in his love life...

...ah, his love life...

With nothing to lose, Craig began talking again. "I do know I move too fast. Conversely, you often move too slow. Of course you can afford to with your acting. You are a phenomenal actress and if you even hint at an interest in a role, it is almost certainly yours."

"But caution may be thereason the most beautiful woman most of us have ever known is still available."

Craig continued, "I guess I'm saying you can provide me balance. Likewise, I can give you balance. But if not me, you should find someone that can offer you that balance." Being vulnerable, and laying things out, Craig smiled warmly ar Lillian.

Lilly stopped "are you saying that you would dump me just because I want to take things slow? Because if you are then maybe we shouldn't be together." She said "you're my best friend Craig. I don't want to ruin this by rushing things. What if we rush and get married and then a couple years from now realize we are only supposed to be friends? It would be too late, there would be no turning back from that."

"Not at all Lilly." Craig was slightly offended that she thought he was shallow.

"In all parts of my life, I need balance. I need you to get me to stop and 'smell the roses' on the journey of life. I jump from one destination to another."

"Still, I dare say you need someone to remind you there are destinations. Life isn't aimlessly wandering from one rose to another."

"I need you to help me find contentment with the hand I've been dealt. In return, I can help teach you that going all in by doing something crazy. Like you did with the catwalk."

"What if I don't think I need to go faster? What if I'm content with my pace?" She asked "have you ever thought about that?" Lilly sighed as she sat down on his bed "I know where my life is headed and I'm in no rush to get there. I'm doing alright. Why push things when they could break?"

"Because if you don't risk, there's no reward. I'm willing to take time to figure us out. You are absolutely worth the wait."

Craig fought with the filter in his mind. "But not forever."

"Just because you are one of my best friends...and absolutely gorgeous, doesn't make you entitled to my heart. But with even glimpses of encouragement, you will continue getting it."

He smiles at lilly, resting his hand on hers.

"If another girl asks you out are you going to say yes? Because I want to take things slow?" She tried not to be too offended by what he had said but it hurt "I thought that just because you had mine it was the same way for you. I'm just stupid for thinking that way."

"Of course not. Though I am impulsive, I'm not stupid! And neither are you. You have my heart...even way before tonight when I finally let you know it's in your possession.

"In addition to being one of my closest friends, you are the only girl I could see sharing my life with." Craig's eyes sought his friend's for reaction to that last comment. "I am certainly not going to risk the potential of losing you just because another girl spreads her legs for me. That would be e the greatest mistake if my life."

"Let's do this right. Let's do the dating thing. But there's one condition." Craig smiles at the plan forming in his mind. "You have to be impulsive enough to skip school and rehearsals this Thursday. I want to take you on a one day road trip to see your hometown. I know it'sot far. I want to see the parks where you played tag. I want to see where you held your first job. I want to see the first stage that you graced with your presence. And if you are comfortable, I want to meet the family that formed you into the amazing woman you are today."

"Are you in?"

"They will replace me if I'm not there. I'll lose the lead, I can't miss rehearsal. They might kick you out too. I've worked too hard for this." She said getting upset "I've never missed a rehearsal in my entire life. I...I love you but I don't think I can do it." Lilly looked up at him feeling awful she couldn't just do what he asked.

"They aren't going to replace the only reason most people come to the plays. As for me, they haven't replaced me yet. Most of theother aspiring actors refuse to do it because it's not acting. If I don't do it, one of the staff members will have to...for free."

Craig lets Lilly process that a bit. "Are you in?"

"I guess." She said quietly "but if I get replaced I get to blame you." She said getting up "is it a deal?" Lilly sighed still not sure about if she really wanted to do this.

Craig smiles at Lilly's agreement. "Of course you can blame me. If you haven't noticed, Daniel does all the time."

Giddy, Craig continues. "I'm thrilled about seeing what makes you the incredible woman you are." Craig kisses Lilly again softly and sweetly.

"As for tonight. Would you like to stay or go back to the dorm?"

"I guess I'll stay. But can't we go and meet your parents?" She asked not wanting to see hers. They had never supported her acting and they where really unhappy with her when she decided to study acting at school. She hadn't spoken to them since she left.
