Best "how to" video ?

Hi. I'd like to give my husband something for the upcoming Valentines' Day. I'm looking for truly great, helpful instructional video(s) regarding any or all of the following subjects: foreplay techniques, stimulating the G Spot, and cunnilingus. I'm looking for good ABC's / basic techniques videos, not videos for the advanced/ highly experienced/ done-it-all-already type lovers.

Secondly: I'd value a good book recommendation (with lots of photos) as second choice, but I'd really prefer videos.

I've been looking online for a while but many videos either have no reviews or so-so to poor reviews. Seems quite a few instructional vids get reviewed as being not instructional enough.

Please reply ONLY IF you've seen a video and can recommend it personally. No suggestions of videos that are out there if you have not watched the video personally.

And yes, I've heard of the Nina Hartley videos but they get accused of being too much like porn and not instructional enough- from what I've read. But if you've SEEN one yourself and have a different opinion, do tell.

Thanks for your help. Ask for more info if you need it, to help with your reply. :)

Edited to add: If you've seen a video and you think it's really lame or useless, please warn me of that also.

i can provide a book recommendation, but no videos.

i found a copy of "the guide to getting it on" in a house i was living in a few years ago, and it has been my companion ever since. it's great - sex positive, open to both genders, no bullshit, very un-porn. highly recommended.

I have seen parts of the Nina Hartley videos and like them a lot... though this may be because I find Nina Hartley the hottest porn actress at the present time :D.

One place I would look is

www.goodvibes.com

here

in particular, also here

occasionally even amazon.com can be a good place to look because of the plethora of reviews

Nina Hartley is something like 60 years old, now. (not that I wouldn't still fuck her :D) The videos have been around for years and years.

I'd actually highly recommend them, though. As for being like porn, the best way to teach people how to have sex is to actually show it. She does all kinds of diagrams, charts, and everything and then, lectures about techniques before demonstrating them. It's actually the best series of sex lessons I've ever seen. It's pretty much the same way I train all my partners, except she doesn't get quite as far into kink with it as I do.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I definitely check out reviews on Amazon. That's where most of the customer reviews seem to be- not so much on other online retailers' sites. :)

A valentines gift for your husband? Wouldn't a fallatio guide or a 'How to stimulate his Prostate' be a gift for 'him'. Just teasing you. Check out Booty Parlor .com. Good lick...er luck :)

Check out any of the "Better Sex Video Series". I bought several of them years ago and they're not only educational but also titillating, informative & explicit.

okay, funny guy...

Actually, the kind of gift I want to give him...is the gift that keeps on giving, ya know what I mean ? ;)

Thanks for the suggestions, Quoll. :)
But what I'm looking for is a video you'd personally recommend,
which includes good instruction on foreplay, G Spot stimulation and/or cunnilingus.

FYI everybody, I don't really need suggested sites to find videos on the internet.
I can find that on my own, and I've done some looking already.
What I need is specific video (or book) recommendations. Something you've viewed or read yourself.
Provide a link to a specific video or book, that would help.
Thanks !

while the nina hartley's series have been around for a long time, there's another similar, more recent series by Tristan Taormino you may want to check it out.

Thanks. Have you seen these videos, and what do you like about them ?

yes, i've seen a few. they usually start with explaining the anatomy of our genitals, what all the different parts are and how to arouse them, followed by instructions on preparation for the act and some do's and dont's, and a few demo scenes performed by porn actors/actresses. the instructions are clear and easy to follow. and the scenes are done very nicely and realistically too.

Actually, the kind of gift I want to give him...is the gift that keeps on giving, ya know what I mean ? ;)
I guess that's reasonable, but I have to ask why you'd want videos for beginners rather than advanced. Most women I know wouldn't think of marrying a guy prior to him learning about cunnilingus, g-spot stimulation, and foreplay. :D

Well, I'm not like most women you know. :)

I stongly recommend the book "She Comes First" by Ian Kerner. I read three books on cunninlingus. This one is by far the best. It's written by a guy, for guys. This book was discussed at length here on the Lit How To forum (or HT Cafe) within the past six months.

As far as videos that I've watched,

New Sex Now by Arte' in DVD. It's a decent intro to G spot manipulation. Arte' does a lot of talking about setting the mood and not rushing, and then gives a woman a G spot orgasm. Good for a beginner.

Playboy Making Love Series, Tantric Lovemaking. Good production quality. Would be good for a beginner. Covers G spot.

Deliberate Orgasm, by The Welcomed Consensus. Really bad production quality. It may have been an old VHS that they converted to DVD. It teaches a technique they call DO'ing, which they claim is a one hour orgasm technique. It's a fine thing to add to your bag of tricks. (Hint- stimulate the 1:00 o'clock position of the clit.)

How to Reach Ultimate Climax by the Alexander Institute. Good production quality. I liked the section on positions. They're taken from the Kama Sutra. I have a Kama Sutra book, but it was better seeing video of two people actually performing the positions rather than a photo in a book. There were other topic as well. Good for a beginner.

Modern Tantra, The: An Erotic Workshop for Lovers Alexander Institute
I didn't like this one. I don't remember why. It just didn't set me on fire.

The last one, and some others, I rented from Adultdvdempire. They have ala cart rental, where you don't have to pay a recurring rental. It's a flat $4.99 for 21 days. It's a good way to check out some DVDs.

Sorry to question your judgement on this. but are you sure that you want to do this on Valentine's day? Such a gift could be easily interpreted as "You don't know what you are doing in bed. You need help." No man wants to be told that he needs advice on lovemaking.

Buy it on your birthday. Tell him that 'a little variety' would be nice, and that you want him to try something new. You might be able to slide it past his ego that way.

There are several videos produced around Anne Hooper's Kama Sutra. The one I recall seeing had 4 or 6 couples basically demonstrating the position, then discussing it afterward. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how I managed across it, it just appeared one day.

Speaking of Anne Hooper's Kama Sutra (book ), this work takes the ancient manuscript and brings it into today. She frankly tells what positions are pure fantasy and the ones where you'd have to be an Olympic gymnast or circus contortionist to perform. Don't despair, there are a great many helpful tips, techniques, and positions that us mere mortals can enjoy.

Thanks bobinks2 for the very specific recommendations. Will check them out. Thanks also to NippleMuncher. Bertrand, thanks very much for the concern, but in our case, it will not be taken as a criticism by hubby. :)

Littlebabyclit, yes the Better Sex Series by the Sinclair Institute is the one I was referring to. They're very instructional along with being erotic and explicit. Just a lot of fun to watch together and try out new things. Good luck!
