That is what i have always used but have read where lube works wonders. When you are doing it for over an hour at a time, lube might come in handy. I have used some cherry stuff before but have no idea where i got it or what it was called.

Lets get a little inventive here.

Instead of worrying about lube, the real issue is the tissues of your mouth are drying out. That is easily fixed by taking a drink.

Inventive would be keeping both a cup of something hot, like hot chocolate AND a can of cold soda. Alternate between the two, but instead of just drinking them, take a nice hearty mouthful, swish it around. Let your mouth take full advantage of the temperature of each liquid. In one case your mouth will be cold (from the soda), in the other you'll be hot than usual (from the hot chocolate).

Just about any food will keep your mouth salivating, so using something like a little chocolate sauce, or maybe one of those premade cake icings would also work. 30 seconds in the microwave will not only make a cake icing soft, but you can even use it as a finger paint then.
