I guess what happens with mini black holes is, since the force of gravity weakens as the inverse square of distance, 1.e, as 1/d^2, you could have a black hole the size of a neutron, say, sitting in an absolute vacuum, and that wouldn't be strong enough to attract any matter to it because the gravitational field of a neutron is vanishingly small. But even in an absolute vacuum there are virtual particles being manufactured out of light all the time, and black holes can suck these in and grow, albeit very very slowly. This is the source of the supposed "black hole radiation" that was making trouble for physicists by threatening the parity of the universe (for each virtual particle that's created, a virtual anti-particle has to be created at the same time to keep the mass and energy and spin of the universe constant. That's parity. Black hole radiation threatened the laws of parity by offering a mechanism whereby a particle might be destroyed but not its antiparticle, which isn't allowed.)

In any case, a mini is still a ticking time bomb drifting around waiting for something to come close, because that sucker is not going to decompose or go away.

Hey..the only thing I did to your dirt cookies thread was, give you my opinion that any man/woman/society/tribe/community can rise above the circumstances that they find themselves in. It's a message of hope. This post will not be met with an intelligent response but a direct insult. lol I hope that's not the case but....
