Beijing firm investigated for running 'black jail'.

It seems that they were contracted by local authorities to round up protesters and hold them until they could be shipped out of town. This would be a perfect business to collect young ladies and send them to alternative sites for careers in the entertainment industry.

Fascinating how these Chinese adapt free market solutions to maintain peace and harmony in their progressive workers democracy!

I think you could make an intriguing story based on the idea that Party members wanting to humiliate and discredit dissidents. That is when the release political prisoners they would have photos/video with which to exert leverage over those people. It wouldn't work for everyone, but they could be profiled to get an idea for whom it would work.
