Black Ops: A new breed.

A calmness settled over Stacey and she sensed it was from the med op. Whatever had made the woman keep her own psy abilities to herself she had found a loyal friend at this moment and Stacey would not reveal anything that she didn't want revealed.

Sending a silent "Thank you" as well as "You're secret is safe" Stacey lay on the floor breathing a sigh of relief. The moment was over and now she had to digest the full ramifications of what had happened.

Sitting up she waved to Derwin indicating she was now alright. Getting a bit unsteadily to her feet, she sat back on the bed and eyed the glove that had sent her on the trip. In very short sentences she relayed as much to him as she could of what she had seen and felt not being able to find the words to give him as acurate a picture as she had wished.

"We have to talk to Thorndyke," She said when she was finished,"We have to tell him what we have found out even if I get my tail kicked for trying something like this."

Torres had once told her that he had a theory that Stacey's psy power was on a wavelength with the Grey's. It had been an area of concern for him and one of the reasons he was so overprotective of her. He had often surmised that some of the voices Stacey heard when she was younger were connected to the Greys. She now wondered if he could be right.

"Derwin," She said biting her lip in thought,"Do you think you could wire that thing to be a disrupter rather than a conductor? If we could use it to disrupt their psy abilities we could have an advantage over them in this mission."

A shiver ran down her spine at what she said next. "Only I have a feeling that I would have to be the one to wear it again for it to work."

Ooc: To be honest, I didn't think it was a 10 year old theory. I thought, since the techies have been getting more and more technology, more and more questions came up about power and such. I used this, because I didn't think we had ever gotten much of their technology, apart from weapons. I made this like a rare find, and so its uses would be totally new to the team.
But, whatever works for everyone else is fine. I never have been one to complain much.

Derwin scratched the back of his head, not even sure how the thing worked in the first place, much less how to reverse the darned thing. He was surprised it had worked, whatever in the hell it did.
"Yeah," he nodded, "I don't know about Thorndyke just yet. It wouldn't just be your tail getting kicked, mine too. Experiments usually have to go through such strict channels, but I thought I had something, and apparently I do. I guess we have to tell him, though. Damn... did you get to look at his mind? Just for a moment? Maybe find out what in the hell we are really supposed to be doing here?"
Wishful thinking, he supposed. Higher ups always had something doodling around in that brain that wasn't the entire truth. Derwin would love to be a psychic for just ten minutes, grab up all the extra thoughts he could about everyone...
That would show them. He laughed, getting back to the device.
"Well, I am going to keep tinkering with it. Make it smaller, for one thing, portable even. With any luck you could wear it like kevlar, a vest or something."
He sighed, now if only he knew how to reverse whatever the hell it was doing right now.

Stacey nodded. He had a point. If they told Thorndyke right now he might not just take them to task for what they had done. He might forbid them to try the experiment anymore.

Tucking her feet under her, Stacey said,"I will help as much as I can." She smiled ruefully,"Not that I understand the technology you are dealing with even as much as you do. I think you have stumbled on something that the Grey's use to strengthen their psy communications so that they can work together better and it might even amplify it so that they are more formidible."

"When I put it on I seemed to be pulled along a channel that was tuned into the Grey 'wavelength' I guess you would call it. I could not tune into any mind that had not been touched by the Greys so, no, I could not detect anything from Thorndyke."

"As far as I can tell none of the team members are involved with the Greys but, as we thought, several members of the back up team are. I don't know what their mission is except they seem bent, as usual, on our destruction."

She bit her lip in thought. "So if the back up team are involved with the Greys than I doubt that they are trying to lead us to their stronghold so we can rescue the women and destroy them. They may be there to simple communicate our position and plans to whoever is in the stronghold or they may be there to make sure that we never reach it."

Stacey sighed. "If our theory is correct we have a division in the backup team. Those that are waiting for an excuse to blow up the Greys and anyone who gets in the way and those that are waiting to destroy us before we reach our goal. Either way we are in some serious trouble."

OOC:

Personally if I was in Stacy's postion I would of slaped Derwin after takeing the glove off.

Dose any one object to moveing on to the jungle?

Ooc: I wouldn't blame you, I probably would have slapped him too.

Derwin sighed, hating that he was always right. If he could just have been ignorant to the whole thing, it might have been a nicer first mission. Damn him and his over-intelligent brain.
"We'll have to keep something in mind. Maybe we could cause a distraction or seperate the team someway. I hate the fact of leaving those hostages inside that prison, especially with those damned gray's, but I'm sure as hell not going to get blown up trying to save them."
He loaded up the mechanical piece, putting it on as part of his technology load, and packed the rest of his stuff into a carry-on bag. He made a grunt as he hoisted it onto his shoulders, feeling the aching pain that would soon nag him from carrying such a load.
"It's nearing that time. I'll see you out in the front."

Stacey nodded and headed to her own room to pick up her things and meet the team out front. She wondered if Derwin could get the thing working so that they could disrupt the Grey's psi abilities if they couldn't go in and do the mission without getting blown up. Well, it was really a 'one step at a time mission' and she would just have to take things that way. No use mulling over what ifs with not much information at hand.

Slinging her bag over her shoulder she left to go outside and join the team, her mind still whirling with distant possibilities.

IC: I arose from my bed. I put on a more liberal outfit. A black suite and tie was only needed in the city out in the feild I prefer a more reasonable outfit.

I wore a set of black pants. I also wore a camo shirt with short sleeves. I took a belt that had several pouches along it and filled them with ammo, grenaids and bullets alike. I also had a sleeve runing down the back. I stuck the three HAFLA's there.

I stuck the knife in a sleeve next to my boot. Despite the fact I complain about James Bond, movies have had one heck of an impact on wear I store my weapons, I did it as much for use as looks.

I walked out infront of the embasy wear every one had gathered. "Okay people well get in the van in a moment." I walked up to the back of the car. I open the door and lug out the heavy box of ammo and gear. "If you ordered anuthing for the mission it's in here." I knew the remaining gear was ment for use because I watched the other two squads pick up there gear.
