Bloodmoon Chronicles

Chase

His hands went to his sides, pulling out a pair of short knives quickly before his opponent lunged. He dodged, and and moved away from the other wolf, growling low in his throat and showing off his fangs. He could smell the blood from the wound on his forearm, and he watched the other.

Animal instincts combine with years of training. He could do it, he could make the kill, he just had to be careful. He prepared a defense, ready to attack if the other should try to lunge at him again.

Beorn prepared to strike again, but hesitated, seeing the glint of metal in the now fading moonlight. Knives. This was surely an individual who'd had his share of battles. It took years of near constant fighting to temper one's animal instincts with the ability to weild a weapon. Beorn now realized that conherent thoughts were beginning to form in his head with increasing clarity. This could only mean one thing. The night would soon be over.

Beorn let out a howl and dropped to his knees, ghasping for breath as the first rays of the sun began to peek over the horizon.

Chase

Sun! He doubled over. The shift was never that bad. It was always the change back that hurt the most. The dissolving of things, pulling them back into your body. And the way areas of the brain suddenly started to work again, thought erupting where there was none before.

It was maddening. The sun rose, it's light illuminating the day. After he was pback in his human form, he slipped a knife back where it belonged, having to bend over to collect the other. He looked over at the man who had been his opponent not long ago.

"Well, small world, ain't it?"

"Yes, it is, isn't it", replied Beorn as he pulled a dagger from his boot and leaned over the carcass of the animal who's blood was still on his lips.
"These might fetch a few coins," he mumured while hacking off the animal's antlers. "So, friend, We're not that far from Goldmorth. Are you still holding out for money, or would you care to accompany me in finding our blood-drinking colleagues?"

Chase

He stood up, and stretched, looking at the stone around his neck. He grinned, and tucked it away. Another night of the full moon and it'd be charged again. It was a bit of a hassle, but it came through in a pinch.

"Hey, I just want to be paid for my work. But, sure, I'll help you find your colleagues, the leeches. And then I'll be on my way."

"I'm only suggesting that it might be advantageous not to travel alone," Replied Beorn, "One never knows what might be lurking in these woods, and besides, there is a war going on. Once we get to Goldmorth, there will be plenty of those skittish little humans who need protection."

Melora

Dawn found Melora and Alistair secured safely in the local Vampire Tavern. The nighthorses stood guard at the door while they slept in a pair of rented coffins. Melora hated sleeping in a coffin but there was little she could do about it here- this wasn't home where she had endless chambers at her disposal.

OOC : just A reminder When i first got to thiss town i stated that their were no vampires or wearwolfs in this town.

IC: Lathrol Wallked down from his room in the Hotell / Pub Straighting his clothes as he did so. he feltit as the vamps enterd the town them being the only vamps in town. it was time for Lathrol to play human Nobel

And so the two wolves journeyed on into the city, stopping in a tavern to get cleaned up and find a bed and a pint or two after the night's exploits

Beorn emerged from the bath and tossed a few coins to the man at the counter. He went up and found a room, tended his few minor wounds and bitemarks and promptly went to sleep, echoes of the previous night's events resounding through his dreams.

Melora

OOC: Oops, I'm sorry didn't catch that. *blushes*

IC: In a celler of an abandoned farm outside town the two vamps and their steeds settled down for the day, burrowed into the earth as they slumbered. Melora was powerful enough she could awaken by day though she couldn't stand the touch of sunlight on her skin.

Chase

He rolled his eyes. Like either side would be willing to let the humans know what was going on. While werewolves and vampires were more powerful than humans, humans had the advantage of numbers, and most wizards would likely side with them.

He shook his head, but followed along to the town. The man left, and Chase sat at the bar, drinking a little of the local ale. He made sure not to take too much, wanting to keep himself alert.

"Argh, the tightwads. I'm obviously stronger than them, and anything that could do that damage could rip them to shreds. And what do they do when they see it? The send a skilled warrior, who is obviously of greater strength, away. And I know they've got money, damn it."

The bartender looked at him. He shrugged. "Wild animal a few towns back. Probably a bear gone mad." The bartender nodded, and refilled Chase's glass before moving on to other customers.

Alistair lay down in the space, but he was not very happy about it. As a member of the Vampiric Court, he was used to better accomodations than this. He close his eyes to wait out the day, thinking to himself that the next night, he would have to find someone to feed from.

Lathrol walked up to chase as he complaind " You Need money I need a band of fuor to protect me as I travel to the CIty of Lestat 5 dsy away frome here Theres upoly people killing people around these areas .I Will pay well if you can help me SIr" Lathrol Asked Chase

Melora

Her eyes flew open at sunset and she stretched throwing dirt off of her. Rolling her neck to get a crick out she stood up, shaking the rest of the dirt from her form. While she didn't miss the mechanations of court life she did miss the lodgings. Oh well, another day another dollar.
The horses were awake, eager to be rid of the walls around them. Taking out a curry she brushed both of them, crooning in old Galic, comforting them. She could feel thier hunger, it matched her own. Yes- they would be feed tonight, one way or another. No- they couldn't just eat the werewolves.
Her chuckles woke Alistair up from his sleep. "Good evening, sleepy head. Tis high time to be out of here. My lovelies are hungry as am I. Come, the night is our playground and we've puppies to catch up to."

Chase

He grunted, and turned to look at the man. His eyes narrowed as he watched him speak, and he turned his attention back to his driong, taking a deep swig before taking to the man in a soft voice. He didn't look at the man again.

"Humph. I know nothing about 'unholy creatures'. I think you've been in the drink, too much, to go spouting things off like that where people can hear how crazy you sound. And while I would like some money, I'm not a band of four."

He took another swig, and sat it out where the bartender could refill it. "Besides, I don't work cheap. Especially if there's murder involved. The less I like doing something, the more it costs ya."

He got his drink once it was refilled, and took a quick swig, turning around and looking at the other people in the tavern, although he still didn't look at the man. "Haven't I seen you before? Little town round these parts? Although, if memory serves, you didn't look quite so healthy back then...Get over what was ailin' ya?"

Beorn

Beorn emerged from the second floor of the tavern in time to hear a well-dressed man single out Chase and inquire about a band of four bodyguards. Beorn was struck by a sense of deja vu, but quickly shrugged it off. They were going that way anyways, and the thought of making some extra cash while still chasing his quarry was too appealing to pass up. He approached the pair, threw a coin on the bar, and upon recieving a generously sized tankard, took a place beside the two.

"Hello. I couldn't help overhearing that you need a band of four adventurers to accompany you on your travels. If my surly colleague is interested, I will be the second, and have some ideas about where we can find a third and fourth."

Lathrol

"no you dont knowme ive lived here my hole life. Im A noble i aven t been sick or in distress since i was a child. And since Im Going To the Citty Of LeStat I want to be protected."With that he sat A large pouch of gold coins on the bar in front of them " And thats just a down payment."

Melora

Heading for the local tavern, Melora figured they could not only find a drink but a person willing to sell a medium to large farm animal for the horses. It was either that or let them loose to feed upon the town's dreams. Looking into the tavern, Melora did a quick mindsearch. Nope, no animal owners here- oh well.
"Go, my lovelies, and feed quickly. We shall need to leave quickly later on."
With a neigh of delight the two nighthorses ran into the nearest darkened house, bodies phasing through the brick walls like ghosts. "Now for some wine and perhaps something more."
Together Melora and Alistair entered the tavern. Spotting the werewolves, she headed for them.
"Good evening my fine gentlemen. I assume you are both in good health. Who's your friend here?"

Beorn
"Good evening. I trust your night was slightly less eventful than ours. Anyway, this most generous noble is traveling to Lestat, and is willing to pay a band of four adventurers to provide protection. It seems he's heard of some violent 'animal attacks' recently. I figure our quarry is most likely headed on to Lestat. What do you say?"

" My beautifull Moon light goddes What is your name"

Alistair watched the exchange between Melora and the noble and scoffed. Many men had tried to talk sweet to Melora, and many had failed. Alistair leaned in close to Melora's ear and whispered into it, reminding her of their immediate goal of finding some nourishment.

Melora

Turning to look at Alistair she chuckled. "I am well aware of that, my friend."
Turning to the nobleman Melora smiled. She was old enough to be able to smile without flashing fangs. "I am Melora Ste Claire, my Lord. Perhaps my friend and I shall accompany you on your journey. But first I've some buisness to attend elsewhere in town."
Leaning over she whispered in Beorn's ear. "We've got to feed. Alistair can't go another night without it, nor can I, least we fall into bloodlust. Any recommendations? Can't leave for an hour or two anyway- the horses are dreamfeeding right now."

Lathrol

As the woman Wisperd top beorn Lathrol spoke " Alowe me to buy you Some food ma'lady?" He than leand in to her ear as he pulled here to walke with him So that only she could hear him. " Prehaps you Would like a live Cow or horse to feed upon ?"

He said As he and her walked

Melora

If she was surprised by his offer, she didn't show it. Melora smiled graciously. "A cow would be most beneficial. My horses are not of normal stock and must feed on a special diet."
A small part of her was rather upset. She hadn't sensed him- yet he knew her for what she was. She hadn't been called out by a human in over a hunderd years! There was something fishy going on here and not just the tavern's rather obnoxious fish stew.
"A glass of the reddest wine the have would be nice," Melora said politely.

Lathrol

Lathrol order stakes that were al mast raw for them to eat along with the Wine. he than Smiled as she gave him A look " im Surprised you havent figured it out." he than showed her his Vampire Bite Scar." I Just Very old thats why you havnt sensed me"
