IC: Michael Ferris

Santa Ramona California was just a little over an hour up the pacific coast highway from Los Angeles. It was a small quiet town of fishermen and farmers and most of it was in some way owned or funded by the Ferris family fortune. Michael being the sole surviving member of the family. He was a pillar of the community, eventhough his choice of lifestyle was somewhat controversial for Michael subscribed to the life of BDSM.

But despite how he treated the women that occasionally stayed at family's house overlooking the ocean on a cliff Michael was not an asshole. He was pretty active and philanthropic over local causes. Such as the new children's wing of the Santa Ramona hospital. He had donated fairly heavily already to its construction but it still wasn't complete, the funds just weren't enough to meet the costs of construction.

So as he arrived at the town's highschool auditorium he shook hands with Oscar Ramos the hospital's director and the guy overseeing the financing of the new hospital wing.

"Mister Ferris," Oscar said with a big grin arcing up under his bushy mustache, "So good of you to come."

"Oscar," He told the man, "I'm happy to help in whatever way I can, but if you needed more money to complete the children's wing all you had to do was ask."

"Yes and I'm certain you would have given the money, but I shouldn't have to rely upon you to finish it, Mr. Ferris, The others have not been as generous as you have."

He shrugged, "Times are tough, and others haven't been as fortunate as my family."

"Well, that's why I have come up with this idea," Oscar nodded, "I still have some friends back in hollywood, and I've managed to arrange this slave auction with some celebrities."

"Be careful when you use the word slave around me, or you may give me the wrong idea here," He joked.

"Ah, yes," Oscar nodded smiling a little uncomfortably at the joke.

"Well let's see who you have."

"It's still early not all the celebrities have showed up yet," Oscar nodded toward the door leading to the backstage area of the auditorium. "But considering that you'll probably be the highest bidder I'll let you meet the ones that have made it here already. You know Amber Pearce."

"The blonde weathergirl with the huge fake tits on the channel two news?"

"Yes," Oscar said stepping over to the door and opening it, "She's here already. Would you like to meet her?"

Michael shrugged, "Why not?" He followed Oscar through the doorway to the dressing rooms.

She breathed a few times as her pear-colored dodge charger, forcing herself to calm down. Yes, it was a public event, but it wasn’t huge. Her manager said it was just for her to get out there more—up until a few months ago, people around here didn’t even know her name, let alone that she could sing.
She got out of the car, grabbed her silver clutch, and adjusted her black dress as she flipped her hair and locked the door, once then twice.

How did she get here anyway? She went from singing for background tracks to having her own single out on the radio, which she heard twice on the way to the high school auditorium where she would be doing an auction. It was good publicity for her, and she didn’t mind helping at all. Her album was stalled until the company got more hits out of her, and she was aching to get away from the company to a more lenient one, but with the contract being so tight, they required her to do pretty much everything they said.

She opened the door timidly—being in the spotlight was requiring her to break out of her shell, and she wasn’t used to being so…out in the open. Someone greeted her immediately, took her clutch, and allowed her to wait backstage and meet some of the others before it started.

She glanced around, biting her lip. Yes, it would be good to give for a weekend. How bad could it be.

Michael was overall dissapointed. Amber Pearce was a beautiful woman. With breasts that were impressive both in size and in their fakeness. What was really disapointing about her though was how vapid and shallow she was. He didn't know how she did such a technical job as a meteorologist.

"Well what did you think," Oscar asked leading him deeper into the backstage area.

"To tell you the truth, Oscar," Michael shrugged, "I don't think I'll be bidding on her."

"Maybe one of the others then."

They came to a pretty brunette in a black dress.

"Who is this," He asked Oscar.

"This is Kadence Maia Kidd," He said walking towards her and offering her hand to shake. "Ms. Kidd this is Michael Ferris. One of the bidders for the auction.

He took the young woman's hand noting a certain shy but beautifully vibrant strength to her eyes. "Ms. Kidd."

"She's the popstar making a big splash in the charts these days." Oscar told him. "I'm sure you heard 'I'm a Fool for Love'."

"No," Michael admitted shaking his head, "Should I have?"

"It's only the number one hit on the radio for what," He turned to Ms. Kidd, "Five weeks now." He turned back to Michael, "The kids are going crazy for her right now. We're lucky to have her for the auction."

Michael nodded to her appreciatively now, "Tell me, Kadence is it? What do you think of the need for this auction for a new children's wing to our hospital here in Santa Romona?"
