All I can say is, my life has been quite a ride.
Maybe overbearing isen't the most polite words to use, but my parant's had always been a bit more... pushy in my life then most families. Both where from good families, sucesses in their own right, and my father made it clear to me from a young age that he wasen't going to accept a failure for a son. Besides, as far as I had gotten, I appreciate him for that.
School always went easy for me, my brain naturally good at working with systems and facts, though I have to admit I never did get good at playing an insturment. Plenty of honors and advanced courses, GPA in the high 3s, and an athelte on the side. Soccor was my game, one of the best passers on the team, and it really did get me a full body workout. Of course, I never really had too much free time on my hands, and the stress had started to get to me at times, but all in all, it got me a half-ride scholarship to one of the region's best universities, a great internship, and finnally a nice job.
This was why it seemed so weird mother still wanted me to stay at home. I mean, not that I wasen't happy to not have to wash my own cloths, pay rent, or doing my own grocery shopping, but with a few pay checks under my belt, I'd been keeping an eye out for an apartment to move into, getting a start on life.
"It'll only be for a week dear," mother had told me as I closed the trunk door on the car, several bags of luggage packed within. " It means the world to your sister. You know how much she's attached to you." With that and a kiss, she and my father got into the vechile, their months of planning for that vaction to the Frech Riverra finnaly paying off.
So, their I was, the sun hanging lazily in the sky as I drove back into the driveway from my day at the clinic, parent's hardly having been gone a day. It seemed, strange without them here somehow, the house taking on a little different tone then it usually had. Sure, my sweet sister kept it up well, but there was just a vibe to it.
Sighing heavily, I came in the door, finnaly smelling something other then horse sweat. My black sports shirt and slightly torn jeans hanging just a bit lose, I take off my shoes and walk into the hallway, taking in the cleanliness about me.
I noticed a note on the fridge as I walked in; must have been a bit too tired this morning to notice. Darlings it read... mother for sure. I've prepared a few meals for our absence. Just pop them out of the tuperware and heat up. If you need to go shopping for anything, anything at all, just charge it. We'll pay you back.
Love each other now
Shaking my head slightly, I pulled it off and looked inside, pulling out the pitcher of lemonade and pouring myself a glass. Just as I was putting it back in, though, I noticed a sound, light footsteps nearby.
