Broken language, a turn off?

Hi.
My first language it's not English and sometimes I find myself with lack of confidence to speak freely or flirty with people because I dont speak/write fluently English.

I need to think twice what I want to write or say and I was wandering if that kind of limitation is a turn off for some of you.

Not for me, since English is not my first language (technically). If someone is friendly, but respectful, I give them a chance. In fact some of the most vile comments I've received on Lit have been from native English speakers. Charm and regard for someone's feelings are not a product of, or automatically associated with a specific background.​

For me, write is incredibly more helpful to chat and have a " fluid " conversation. Sometimes I crossed paths with people who didn't have the patience to listen and I felt kind of bad after.

Those people were not worth your time or energy. I know that doesn't make their impatience or ignorance easier to deal with, but I believe they weren't meant to do anything but help point you in the direction of the people who would want to get to know you, M.​

The more you use it, the more confident you'll become.
This is lit, it should be a drama-free, fun site to be on.

Yes, was a doubt that I had about other users here, if that happened to someone or if that was a reason for someone to reject the opportunity to know other people.

Hey, I think communication is about more than just the language and over the time it always gets better. As many here pointed out, I also think that it says more about those who fixate on how pitch perfect your English is, than what it says about you.
If the Swedes had colonised India, I would be sitting here spitting Swedish instead of English Ignore those wankers!

Lucky me, here in Lit I still can improve not only my way of speak but surely can add a lot more terms.

In every day situations is were usually i was founding more obstacles. The lady at the store or the clerk of the office.

You could see the light slipping from their eyes when I "stutter " some word

Yes, it happens in a different way here. I live in Finland, but can’t speak Finnish. If I make a mistake, which I do, a lot, they may look at me, but then quickly switch to English.
I think you made an effort and that’s all that matters. I am proud I tried!

Personally, I enjoy hearing the "mistakes" people make when English is not their first language. I find it endearing and lets me look at how language is assembled. I know I wouldn't do nearly as well, and to me, it makes their speech unique and interesting. They are braver than I would be. I love it.

No, absolutely not a turn off. It's a big subject for me as an overthinker and overanalyser, but the short version is that if you approach me and we have a conversation, how you use language and how you express yourself is unique to you and is something for me to enjoy and appreciate in itself. If we connect then we connect, and your use of language is one of the things to enjoy about you.

I have so much admiration for people that are multilingual. I hope you continue to feel more comfortable posting @Magesthicc. Like @Zumbamami_69 said, if they have a problem with it, that reflects on them, not you.

If someone is uninterested in taking time to learn about someone because of some language then they are the problem not you. You keep being your charming self. Thats what is important.
