I can't find a good design for long use. The rim of the outside edge digs into my butt after awhile, and hurts. I've tried many, but not found one that I can stand for long term (like, a few hours at least). Any ideas?

You should investigate the Snug Plug series from B-Vibe. There is no outside rim like any of the jeweled plugs. The stem is rather slim and the plugs themselves come in 6 or 7 different sizes and weights. I have them from size 2-4. plugs, vibrating plugs, vibrating plug with silicone cockrings. I like them.

The Lovense Hush is my other go to favorite as it can be remotely controlled by you or someone else. I like to pick a program and drive around town.
Then turn it off if I have to go in somewhere.

Doc Johnson's “naughty" series has a long nature base designed to fit comfortably between your cheeks. I wore them pretty much 24/7 until recently, when I started having prostate issues.

Also, here are some knockoffs of the Doc Johnson design, super cheap. I haven't tried them, can't vouch for them, but they look the same.

Don't you need the outside rim to keep it from slipping all the way in?

Like the Doc Johnson plugs I mentioned, the snug plug has a narrow rear base the fits between the cheeks and a front base that rests on the perineum. But no wide base that can be problematic for long-term wear.
