Glass really isn't a good idea. A gentleman of my acquaintance bought a beautiful glass plug, had a nice flange and all, but the flange was smooth enough that the whole thing suddenly got slurped inside.

And you can't grip it or stab it.

After several hours of uncomfortable waiting in A&E and some even more uncomfortable hours of medics trying to retrieve it, they prepped him for surgery. Only then did they manage to lasso the thing and pull it out.

I have a set of glass plugs that I've really enjoyed but am looking now to get a new set that isn't glass because after play a few weeks ago I removed my biggest plug and it slipped from my hand and shattered on the floor.

I only use the softer type ones - see pics, I found the "ball" ones can stay in as long as you like, the others to play with!
I did have a stainless steel one but found it too heavy so it would drop out, I guess the glass ones would be a the same.
