I've always been told that Arabic and Hebrew use syllabaries - symbols for syllables instead of individual letters. Ancient Egyptian is another interesting one thanks to the lack of written vowels.

OE/Anglo-Saxon's fun thanks to the small number of letters (thank you, runic alphabet), though they managed to double up on the "th" sound - two symbols, same sound.

I'd love to hit Scotland and England sometime. Definitely have to get in a pilgrimage to Liverpool (Beatles!!!! and Ozzy!) and the Bodlean library (old manuscripts!). Not to mention my fascination with castles and medieval weaponry, so the British Museum would be high on the list. But, that's gonna be a while. :)
No, hebrew uses letters. I suppose when you pair a vowel and a consonant, you get a syllable, but they are definitely individual letters. There are open syllables consisting of a consonant and a vowel, and there are closed ones, consisting of consonant, vowel, consonant.

When I was in Oxford, I lived right across the street from the Bodleian Library. It was perfect, and I would definitely recommend going there.

Since a certain person ( :D )said he liked my back, here is one I originally didn't plan to use.

I hope you like it

Preview of the next series... I do like this one, but... hm. I dunno. Either it's really good or really crap, for some reason I can't get the feeling I usually do with the pictures.

More?

Which do you think was harder to learn: Hebrew or English?
There's just no comparison. English was a piece of cake. Hebrew is a piece of cold lava.

Seriously, I probably can't make a really fair comparison since I've been around the english language much more, and I've never been to Israel to actually pick up Hebrew there, which ould be the easiest way to learn that.

English is more similar to German in every way, grammar, vocab... all of it. Hebrew has a very complicated grammar that's difficult to grasp. I do have an easier time pronouncing Hebrew than the American students have, because my German background helps a lot with that.

Its not quite as evocative as some of your others, and I'm not sure why. Let me look at it a bit more and see if I can come up with something.

Ohh no it's REALLY GOOD the black & White and Chrome again with the shadows has your signature style ... the bra add's a new twist. The fact it is a textured material adds to it too. I can't wait to see where you bring this.

Spaz

That figures. I disappear for a few days and you go and get even more beautiful. Is there no end in site? (Teasing). :)

Well thanks so much  This is another one that I originally didn't want to use, I had to photoshop some background out of it. It's kinda difficult to take a picture of your own back too
