Cafe Nightshade

Ranken

OOC: Yep, pretty much already decided. unless Crys wants to change this.

IC: Ranken turned to the woman holding the gun at him. "you wont kill me, because if you do, that one less to fight the demon. i don't give a shit about yoour demon. but i'll kill it and leave. as for the girl, i go with her, or i'll have it out right now, and we can leave you for the midgets to sweep into a gutter. ye,s you're right. this is not negotiable." He Reached into his jacket to pull out a combat knife and slip it up his wrist. as his jacket was helt open, a collection of arms could be seen. and two tubes with fins on the end.

Re-shouldering the Carbine nodded to the clown again and walked off to the side.

zerro started to feel like nobody was listening to him.''forget it ...i'll just have to fend for myself.''but somthing kept getting to zerro.he was still hurting from the last attack that daemon inflicted on him did he have an weakness to deamons or is the curse lifting because of the place they were at?

zerro finnaly stop thinking about what will happen to him.it was what he was hoping for,but if there are daemons to kill and people to help with his curse...Hell why get rid of it!?!he looked around to se if anyon needed a partner....he didn't see anyone that was partnerless yet

Guardian Angel enchantress of the axe

listening to zerro talk to himself,Angel smiled..'perhaps his sword could use` with some enchanting also.?..she thought Keeping her watchful eyes on Tony and his crew ,Angel smiled again,,'Danm,I'm happy that I enchanted that axe,I only hope it doesn't fall into the wrong hands'!" God only knows what the daemon would try to do with it..
It seems to have come in handy so far but," who would've thought a young man would put it to use so soon?
Tony was no ordinary man though, and now that Trevor had transported them all to the carnival..Angel wondered what she should do next? She was still not believing she heard Tony just say that it was "just an axe"..He must believe in it's power or all is lost..
"well malevolent spirits or not,i'm watching over this crew",she decided.

Zolt

Zolt materializes behind Angelina and stands protectively next to her coldly looking at zerro. He then turns his attention to Trevor and says: "The daemon is on a rampage and the lost souls of the Carnival are providing him with plenty of food. Your idea to separate is a good one and the Dark One willing, we shall take the it down in the Big Top." He grabs a flare from the ground and turns to Angelina: "are you coming?" Then turns around and walks towards the Carnival's entrance.

Lucky

I noticed some guy appearing out of no where talking to one of the women. I walked over to hear if this guy had a plan.

The daemon is on a rampage and the lost souls of the Carnival are providing him with plenty of food. Your idea to separate is a good one and the Dark One willing, we shall take the it down in the Big Top.

"Intersting, how do we accomplish this? I'm Lucky by the way."

Angelina

Waving 'bye' to all the others, Angelina runs after the dark stranger.

"Hey wait up!" Her little legs caught up to him and she gave him a little wink as she cocked the stolen pistol.

They walked on, her superhuman ears trying to filter out the carnival sounds and those of the demon. She occasionally had to stop and kick away a carnie that came at her with clawing hands while Zolt had the advantage of just being able to put his mojo on the little bastards. They remind me of the roaches in my old apartment, man, those fuckers were big.

"I'm Angelina, you can call me Angie if you promise to keep me alive. What's your name, besides Mr. Hottie Demon Guy?"

J.W.C (Tony) Birch

‘Well, Ms. Byrnes, I was hoping that you’d shoot the whole bloody lot of them and be done with. I believe I have an extra clip in my jacket pocket which I pick up earlier. This way, you don’t have actually wasted a clip, now do you?’

Shawnee

Shawnee shifts her senses to the others in the hallway. The coy feminine scent of blood is close. She trys to locate where that flavoring of air is coming from. Scanning the area, she sees goth toting chickie ::possible human fodder:: & the chic armed red. ::ahh~ a blooded human ... yum:: Two men approach from the depths. ::Our naughty host has been play with magik & he is with a ~ very intresting ~ a soul taker.:: That same wave of nauseous smell hits her coming from a shadowy shape, than takes a large male form. ::A hybrid ancient::

Seeing something move out of the corner of her eye, Shawnee sees the brat & the hunter's shoe laces get tied up. ::That's where the lil vamp is.:: She snickers under her breathe. The ancient one mention daemon is tracking us. Motor-mouth notices his laces & cuts them off, while mentions talk about demons is his language. There is a bit of snid comments & bickering. Hearing an almost inaudible, "OOO~" she smiles evilly. ::Someone gonna have a suprise package, specially delivered to them. Heh heh heh::

The kid starts to thrash around & his blood splurts from his body. The scent of fresh blood make her nose twitch & her mouth water. A flegling appears on his back with her mouth sucking on his neck. The lady notices Shawnee & actually make room for her to share the kill. She cautiously looks around, the ancient wipe the blood splatered on his face off then nonchalantly licks his fingers clean. ::Damn~ that was sexy.:: Then the hybrid-one mentions that he will scout for the daemon & melts into the shadows.

Kass:
She glared coldly at Ranken. He was not the first to come after her, though he was certainly the most blatantly obvious, it would seem that whoever it was that kept sending them was getting impatient. It was no matter though, this would disappear soon enough, they always did when they closed in on her. It was something that she simply accepted: when one of them got too close they would simply vanish, leaving nothing but an anguished scream in a dark alley, a large blood stain on the pavement, or sometimes nothing at all. She gave the man a contemptuous toss of her head as she turned her attention of Trevor.

"Please allow me the honor of your company, Kass. Trust me, I can keep you safe from the dangers of the Carnival, as well," he shot a look at Ranken, "as others."

Safe? She certainly hoped not! But she smiled at him with real pleasure as he took her hand: despite his displays of power and position of authority, he seemed like one driven by forces outside their control - and this seemingly contradictory nature fascinated her.

"If anyone can keep me safe I'm sure it's you Trevor, thank you." She chuckled. Her yellow- green eyes gazed searchingly into his own, but, as before, his expression gave nothing away. "Well then," she continued, pointedly ignoring Ranken, "which way shall we go?"

Shawnee

Meanwhile our host, is crouched down to the ground scanning for the daemon. Shawnee senses something un-human, when he yells. "Get down, all of you!! GET THE FUCK DOWN!!!" Reacting with feline grace, as she does to back handsprings & crouches low in a cat-like fighting stance. The warn comes a little to late for the bitten loud-mouth & is partially buried under the rubble. The remaining non-human male attacks with the ax & strikes the daemon's leg. Flesh & blood splaters all over the attacker.

OOC: to be continued ... sorry falling asleep over here ...

Zolt

"My name is Zolt pretty one," he answers to Angelina as she catches up with him. "Stay close to me and no harm shall befall you." He looks a moment at Lucky behind him shrugging at his question. "We will overcome it or we won't, the how will come to us eventually."

He carries on walking, passing the demonic dwarf who welcomes them into the Carnival of Carnage. Red eyes follow them as they make their way amidst the various stands. Zolt ignores them as he ignores the dwellers of this infernal place. They know better than to attack a creature such as he. Some of the boldest dart a move towards Angelina but she skillfully dodges their attempts to grab her.

"The daemon is not far Angelina," he says, savouring the unfamiliar name in his mouth. "Are you ready to fight it?"

Chloë Byrnes

Chloë half-smiled seeing the commotions had been settled without further scuffles. She had wasted a single bullet with the desperado fellow, now frustrated by kess's pairing with Trevor, but it was worth it. And the kid vampire had ran off with the big badass vampire-slash-demon type. The little twerp stole one of the revolvers! Good, she'll need it

Picking up one of the flares and tossing it to her goodys' bag, Chloe returned her attention to Tony, showing him a broad smile, and assured him a wasted clip wouldn't be noticed for a while.

"Well, I like your plan; it has all the potentialities to actually work. I especially like the fact that I'm not the bait..." She looked around once more, gauging the surrounding carnival inferno with her predatory gaze. "But we'll have to stick together until we find the demon... I don't think my weapons can protect me from all these... things..."

She scanned the rest of the crew to see if anyone else would follow the two of them. She will need back up when Tony decides to tacle the demon...

zerro relized that chole and tony was looking for a partner and he ovr heard the suicide plan(he's gotta be crazy...)but he knew tony could take care of himself with that axe.zero was more worried about the girl with the all the guns seeing they didn't have much effect.''hey!''zerro walked over to tony and chloe''do you need some help?''

"I've got an idea. Any of you guys ever feed a pigeon an antacid tablet? Their stomachs can't handle it, they explode. Same thing with rice. What I propose is one of us takes the portal back and gets a hold of a shit load of tablets and then se somehow get the demon to eat them. I know it sounds crazy but hey, it might just work."

J.W.C (Tony) Birch

I took my jacket and shirt off. At least my white undershirt was still clean. The blood and the flesh were still clinging stubbornly on to the jacket and shirt as I threw them down. Unencumbered with vestments, I flexed my muscles in anticipation of the battle ahead. It was then when I realized that I had missed the excitement of the hunt. The adrenalin pumping thrill of the kill. I had been so absorbed in my work, that I had not felt so alive for a very long time. I took a quick glance at the crowd dispersing, each to his or her own thoughts. I shrugged as I resolutely turned and walked into the carnival. I scarcely looked at the attractions, as I knew that this place is not what it seemed. A lot of the attractions would be familiar to most people. But these attractions in return for the fun it provided demanded a steep price.

As my hands gripped the haft of the axe tighter, my own bemused reverie turned to it. It was enchanted, as the blade easily sliced through the Daemon’s skin, even scorching it as it passed through. It was as if the axe itself was alive. The blue light it emanated had a little bit to do with it I’ll admit this much.

As I walked on, I was comforted by the fact that Ms. Byrnes, with her weapons and her skills, was watching my back. And after all that, she didn’t even have a hair out of place. Cool professionalism had always impressed me. The elder ninja seemed to be following.

I looked around the Carnival. Trevor had said it was the Carnival of Carnage. What an appropriate name. Especially, with the guy dressed up as Death, apparently walking on stilts by the height of him. The costume was complete with a mean looking scythe, and the fact that he was riding on a tricycle, with an insubstantial figure in the passenger seat. I shrugged again. It was not my place to approve or disapprove.

I continued walking, turning the corner. I was staying close to the booths and away from any open space that the Daemon might have the advantage. Then I came upon a glass pedestal, the type where a quarter was inserted and you can manipulate the grabber arm to grab a stuff toy or something similar. In this case, the glass enclosed what appeared to be diamonds and other precious stones. And these were no baubles of glass either. These were the real things.

I looked at Ms. Byrnes, and shook my head, indicating the treasures that lay beyond the glass. I took one last look before trotting on. The bellow in the distance signaled to me that the Daemon was not close. Then again, distances can be deceiving. I did not let my guard down.

Everyone was pairing off and wandering into the Carnival to face dangers unknown. Trevor looked over at his partner. She was pretty, no denying that, but looks weren't going to help them in their attack on the daemon lord. Perhaps her most endearing quality was her purity...Trevor spent all day dealing with sinners, posers, demons and the scum of the earth. Nothing could wash the gallons of blood off his hands, undo the horrible things he had done in the name of the arcane arts. But her...

Goddammit! Quit thinking with your fucking dick, man! Your schoolyard crush is going to get you both killed!

The thought immediately sobered him up. He was so busy drinking her in that he'd forgotten about the danger she herself was in. What the hell was he doing? She was totally defenseless against the powers of darkness, and here he had brought her to the centre of the palace of rotting souls! And what was worse, she didn't seem to realize the danger she was in and was treating the entire experience like some sort of...some sort of game!

He was so busy cursing himself that he didn't notice Kass wandering over to gaze at the House of Mirrors...

"Kass! Don't go in there!"

Chloë Byrnes

The three of them were moving in a spontaneous military scout formation. Tony was leading the way, Axe held high with the tightest of grips, whilst Chloe and the 20-ish-year-old-looking-ancient following side by side close in his path.

When Tony pointed the glass pedestal filled with jewellery, Chloe got intrigued. This entire place seemed something out of a kafkian nightmare of a lunatic on acid, but she could understand a certain pattern about it. If one would just stand back and let things settle down into its routine, take it all with a nice dose of humour, this place could actually be an interesting place to visit. At least she wouldn't get too bored in here.

Chloe stared into the glass container for some more seconds. Tony's curiosity had been aroused too, she could see it clearly, but his sense of duty, or more likely his fear of the demon won. Chloe was different. She always prided herself for being an excellent professional and a perfectionist in all aspects of her life, but there was one undeniable truth about her: she only did it for fun. Whatever IT was. She was curious about this device. She wasn't stupid though.

"Hey, hmm... Zerro? Is that your name? Would you please try and get me one of those things?" she said, picking up some kind of token that was abandoned at their feel and giving it to the undying ninja.

Angelina

OOC: Pm, do NOT take this personally, this is just my character being the bitch that she is.

IC:

"Are you fuckin kidding me!? We want to kill it, not cure its heart burn." Angelina rolled her eyes. Suddenly something shiney caught her eye.

"I'll be right back..." She strolled over to the shooting gallery. Instead of BB guns or water pistols, the weapons attached to the counter were mini guns. "Holy shit, this is good." The thing behind the counter came up to her with his hand out for a coin. She merely turned the gun towards him and pulled the trigger. Two seconds later, the thing lay on the ground with it's chest cavity splattered on the back wall of the gallery and 150 shells lay on the ground. "Oh yeah, oh fuckin yeah..." She ripped the gun off the counter, careful of the scorching hot barrel. She pointed it at the advancing carnies; "Back off unless you want to find yourself missing a torso!" She chuckled as they turned and ran around the nearest corner.

"Hey Zolt, let's kick some ass!"

chloe didn't relize that zerro was busy looking a different booth.but of course he heard her.''mmmmm well maybe i can......but....how do you play?''zerro was the type that until now was always in complete solitude.of course he played a few games but this was completely new to him

OOC: J no prob.

"Hey I haven't heard an idea from you except countinuing to waste ammo on him. I've dealt with demons before, fuck I've even been to hell." Lucky looked around realizing Angelina was walking away. The miniguns caught his attention. "Gotta admit though I like your taste in firearms." He followed suit and ripped another one of the mini-guns from the counter.

"Hey wait up for me, I want to blast the bastard too!"

Ranken

Ranken followed the three, not letting them get far ahead, he was about 8 paces behind. they obvious did not hold a high oppinion of him, he wasn't paid to make friends, so what they think, so be it.

J.W.C (Tony) Birch

‘Hey Zerro, or Zorro or whatever your name is, you put a quarter or token in the slot. Then you can move those two handles on the console. This will allow you to manipulate the grabber arm and grab whatever is in the glass housing. Go ahead, use the token that Ms. Byrnes here have given to you. It should be fun.’

'Go ahead.'

Kass:
Trevor seemed lost in thought or something, at any rate he wasn't moving, so she turned her attention to her surroundings. The circus was a bizarre mix of frivolity and menace: the breathy notes of a circus calliope could be heard over the barker with the megaphone, flashing lights dazzled the eyes on the many rides and booths, clowns and jokers wandered around, their cheerful clothing making their death-like faces appear all the more sinister. As Kass approached a nearby attraction, the clown in charge fixed her with a maniacal grin:

"Step right up, step right up, little lady! This is your lucky night! Enter the House of Mirrors and see the true nature of reality reflected before your eyes!"

At the entrance to the House of Mirrors she heard Trevor's shouted warning, and turned to leave, but the clown touched her arm to get her attention again.

"Come now, don't be shy little girl, you know you want to see." He said with a conspiratorial wink, "There's nothing to be afraid of, all you'll find inside is the truth!

"The truth about what?"

"Anything! Everything! All the questions you've never had answered, all those you have never even dared to ask. Step inside and see the answers revealed before your eyes!"

To see what was Real, to see past the posing, the images, the social veneers people hid behind - she had only ever caught glimpses of it, reflected in people's eyes in moments of incoherent pain, of burning joy, in death. Now she was offered it all: he offered no mere spark that would disappear in the next instant, no, he offered everything. She never looked back at Trevor, nodding to the clown she stepped through the door into the dark hall.

Chloë Byrnes

As Chloe was handing out the found token to Zerro, some weird characters caught her eye on one of the sides of the coin. It was in Arabic, and she knew the language well, given her chosen profession. Many times had she been hired to do precision assassinations on behalf of both the Palestinians and the Israelis.

"Ji-n&agrave-n" she said, "soul..."

The pattern began to reveal itself in her mind. Chloe understood immediately what would happen to the ones that succumbed to temptation. Trevor was right, calling this place Carnival of Carnage. she thought, Carnage and Damnation!

"Wait just a second, Zerro, let me make the game a little easier... Did you know that it takes only 6 oz. of Semtex to blow up an airliner?" Chloe said nonchalantly to her companions whilst placing a hand full of the stuff on the glass pedestal. "Hmm, you two might want to step back and duck behind that booth... I know I will..."

A few seconds after, pressing a single button in a detonator, the ground shook up beneath the entire Carnival, and a uncountable number of diamantes, emeralds and rubies began to rain on them all.
