Penelope Winslow/Gawaine

OOC: I am still here also :D

IC: The cold water on my face is refreshing and slightly relaxing. I peer into the mirror again trying to search for the unanswered questions. I could not be crazy as they said Priscilla had been. She went crazy because of her evil tendencies, at least that is what Mama had told me. I suppose Mama would think that I too am straying from the path of righteousness but I am still a virgin. She couldn't fault me for that. There is lust in my heart every night as I long to be with this man or that man but I am careful to end the cyber chats when the suggestion of meeting one comes into play. I tease and fantasize my I am not like my twin, Priscilla.

Priscilla was beautiful where I am plain. Priscilla was graceful where I was clumsy. Priscilla had been perfect where I had been faulty. My mind wanders back in time. To the time when she gave me a makeover. We had been identical twins but I had kept my outerself plain to protect my innerself. She had fixed me up with Bobby Simpson, knowing I had a crush on him. He had only agreed to go out with me to impress her. When he saw me that night, I knew in my heart that he was seeing her. He tried every way to have sex with me, but I remembered Mama's words and stayed true to them. The groans from the back seat caused me to look behind me. What I saw there was horrifying. I caould not believe what she was letting her date do to her. I just sat in the front seat, arms wrapped around my body. I hadn't been able to admit then that I was turned on. Good girls didn't do those kind of things. Bobby never spoke to me after that, but he did finally get his date with Priscilla.

No, I could not be mad as she had been. I was still a good girl! I raised my head to allow my former stature, one of perfect posture. I push my glasses up my nose and walk out of the bathroom. If only I could get that nagging phrase out of my head.

Dagonet/Dirk Gently

Dirk made his way down the street, unconsciously avoiding the many puddles as he contemplated the strange message... PREPARE YOURSELF. YOU ARE CALLED ON YOUR QUEST What was that about, he wondered. Sod Occam! If I am, in point of fact, going mad... there isn't a whole lot I can do about it. Therefore, I should treat this as something other. How to 'prepare' without knowing the 'quest'?

The stout investigator arrived at his destination quite to his surprise. He made his way into the pub, went up to the bar, and set down a 10-pound note. "Barman, did you know that 'adventure' is someone else having a miserable go at it, in some place far removed from your easy chair?" The Irishman behind the bar looked at him, smiling broadly. "Right you are, sir... would you be after wanting a drop o' t' crayture, then? 'Tis t' best thing in nature for soot'ing yuir troubles, and bringing y' joy!" Dirk chuckled, "I'd like more than that, friend. If I'm off to adventure, I plan to prepare myself by pickling."

Jewel/Bors

"C'mon Jewel, it's your turn."

She blinked and looked up. She'd gone off on a long train of thought, something about... what? Traveling and horses, knights and dragons, yeah. Destiny. A chill shot up her spine and she hugged herself. Cripes, I'm pretty fucked up, she thought.

"Yo, Jewel?" said Paulo. He gestured to the dice on the Clue board before them. They usually didn't get to the end of the game, either someone would look at the cards or, most often, they'd get distracted by something easier to think about and end up vegging out, stoned on pot and beer. Rachel giggled and coughed, blowing out a gout of smoke from the yellow bong. Cary was fiddling with the CD player and Mark had wandered off somewhere, probably to pee. Jewel picked up the dice and dropped them, suddenly not caring at all about the game.

"Check it out, check it out!" laughed Mark, jumping back into the room with a flashing construction signal under his arm. "Dude!" "Whoa!" said Cary and Paulo, and they crowded around him as Rachel slipped nearer to Jewel.

"Whassup with you?" she slurred. "Not feelin' good?"

Jewel shrugged. "I dunno. This is just stupid. Look at them, what a buncha morons."

Rachel put her mouth to Jewel's ear. "Yeah, but Mark's pretty sexy, huh? He likes you, ya know." She giggled again. Jewel grimaced; Rachel's breath stunk.

They watched as Cary strung a beer can to the ceiling, then started the CD. He turned out the lights, and the room was lit only by the intermittent flashes of the construction light. A strange whispering came from the speakers, and Cary said, "It's Pink Floyd, dude." He pronounced the title carefully: " 'Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Groovin' With a Pict.' Is that cool or what?"

More giggling came from several corners, then someone started the can swinging. The orange light acted as a slow strobe, illuminating the can's arc in brief flashes as it swung back and forth. Their voices died, and all watched in stoned silence as the recording reached towards its acid-inspired peak, hypnotized by the orange streak that was no longer a can as the voice of the Pict boomed out its strange language. Jewel stared into the flashing darkness, feeling that something was growing nearer to her, the arc of light stabbing deep inside her, trying to tear open something unknown that desperately wanted out.

Mordred/Kyle Manning

Slamming the door behind him, Kyle came back into the apartment and threw his books on the ground. "Well, that fuckin' seals it!"

Mike looked up from the couch where he was rolling a couple of joints on the coffee table. "Blew the Calc test, AA?"

"Blew it?! That bitch, Williams, wouldn't even let me take it. I showed up a half-hour late and she told me to see her in her office on Thursday, where we would discuss my future in her class. I would have been home earlier, but I stopped off at Hanley's for a couple of beers to wash away my tears."

"Tears? The last time I saw you cry was when we ran out of liquor on a Sunday, and you had to go to bed sober."

"Whatever...," Kyle started sarcastically, "but let me tell you one thing. If that Ms. Williams thinks she can fuck me over, she's got another thing coming to her. Now light up one of those, while I get us some beers."

Delaney/Guinivere

The drive home was proving to be fairly uneventful...... She had been sooo happy to finally get out of that awful costume. Her eyes narrowed as she remembered to call her so called agent when she got home.

She sighed with relief as home finally came into view. Buying the old house had been one of the best decisions that she had ever made. She had hired workers to professionally restore it. She smiled as she pulled in the driveway...

She practically jumped out of the car and ran up the steps...... deciding that she needed a nice warm bubblebath..

Climbing the stairs... she decided thats exactly what she would do.

(OOC: Sorry for the short post. Not sure what to do in character right now lol)

OOC: Isolde I am still here I am just unsure on how you wish for me to continue?

Merlin and Nimue

Taking Nimue/Lily's hand, Merlin begin to chant. As he did so, a light rose to envelope them both and soon, Lily had to close her eyes to stand the brightness.

When her eyes opened, they were in the private basement that Merlin has started from. Everything was as he had left it. The small round table with the figures around it still sat there and the candle that had represented Nimue had puddled in the middle of it, the flame extinguishing.

Merlin looked into Lily's eyes and saw the flame that was Nimue there. The flame that had been represented had transfered from the candle to her soul. It had awaken it.

Leading Lily to the larger table, he bade her sit at the head of it. "Your powers and strength will be growing as I finish my task. Stay here and gain your strength. I leave you to take care of the knights as they arrive."

"I am off to find the knights for the time of Arthur's rising is at hand and Morgan is preparing against us even as we speak. I cannot allow her to find the knights before their souls wake from the sleep. If she were to kill them in their infacy than we should be defeated before we even start."

Going to the small round table, he held his hand over the candle of the knight to the right of the throne. The wick burst into flames and Merlin vanished, seemingly at the same time, leaving Nimue to ponder and prepare herself for the reunion to come.

Valin Hales/Perceval

It is late at night and the chores are finnaly done. I climb out on the rooftop and look at the stars. I have pretty much given up on harvesting the crops, theres no way I can in time. I figure I'll call a orphange or food shelter and tell em they can keep whatever they pick. As for the animals I'll have to find a fair price for the livestock, but the horses will need good homes. I sigh as I cry for the 3 rd time in my life. I try to will the tears away, but I feel like I came so close only to fail again. I draw a ragged breath as I look at the stars "Now what??? I did everything Ive ever been told...Now what???"

Tyler / Pelleas

The nightmare was back again.

Tyler was in complete darkness. Lying on the ground, he had been thrown from the car. The car directly in front of him. The car on fire. The car with his family trapped inside.

And he was just out of their reach. They were banging on the glass, the doors buckled closed in the heat. And he couldn't help them.

The tree trunk was pinning him down. Lying square across the small of his back, the pain was immense. But not as much as the pain of seeing his family-

The car exploded, and there was nothing he could do. Everynight, there was nothing he could do.

Except now, in the distance, there was someone else. Like looking through fog, Tyler knew there was someone else here. Someone just on the edge of his vision. Someone he knew, but had never met, but had known all his life.

A lady...

Lily sat in front of the table studying each figurine as memories slowly flooded back into her mind. She felt a new sense of powere and knowledge she had never felt before... it was a new sensation she was really enjoying. Smiling she leaned back waiting for Merlin to return.

ooc

Rdh996 and i have just gotten back from our honeymoon and can continue with our part in the story. I am sorry for not telling anyone about it before we left but we forgot to.

Thomas/Tristram

OOC: Sorry I have been away for a while.... RL things kind of got in the way and I have to say that I won't be here for a while.... two weeks at least, flying State side to see carini.

IC: Thomas got up and looked around, trying to figure out just what he was doing. He looked around at the park and wondered how on earth he had gotten here. The last thing he had remember was a voice saying over and over in his head that his bravery was needed.

He thought to himself What bravery, I know that I am a chivalrous type of person but I am not that brave so that someone needs me on something really important

Re: Bob/Lamorak

Teague said:
"Alright Guys and Gals that was Witchy Woman by The Eagles and a dedication to my ex-wife who happily is too far away to hear my broadcast so I am a brave man right now."

"Coming at you is another half hour of continuous rock from your favorite DJ Bob "The Blade" Reynolds. When you return you will be with our friend Howler for your late night listening pleasure. You be good and I will see you on the morrow."

Bob Reynold's aka Bob "The Blade" moved to set up the disks that would last until his relief came and then sat back to enjoy the end of his shift. It had been a good night. The callers were actually curtious, the songs had been good and there had been no equiptment complications. Yes. The night had been good.

As Bob begin to gather his personal belongings in the short time before his relief came on, he was startled to hear a voice come from the studio speakers instead of the music that was supposed to be playing.

"YOUR QUEST APPROACHES. PREPARE YOURSELF."

Glancing up through the glass at where Margo, the woman who screens the phone lines is talking with Howler, you realize that neither of them heard the voice.

You also realize that instead of being on the first disc, you are on the last one and it is getting ready for you to punch in the commercials that come just before change over. There were four songs to be played. Somehow the time between the first and last disc was lost and now Howler is entering the studio, looking at you quizzically as dead air fills the room.

Re: Cindi/La Bel

Jocelyn said:
Her hips swayed and ground to the music as it blared out of the speaker system overhead. Her leg kicked out and she turned and bent down at the same time hooking her thumbs into the waistband of her thong. Bending over she swayed in an exaggerated movement and let the catcalling males who were watching her stage dance get a good look at her pert butt.

Her swinging hips caused her breasts to move with them as they freely hung before her. She had discarded her top at about the middle of her dance. Turning to give the men a wink over her shoulder, she moved to walk around the edge of the stage in her high heels pausing only long enough to let someone slide money into her waistband.

The men at the HighPoint knew better than to try anything other than the occasional grope as they showed their appreciation in monetary form. The bouncer, Sampson, took care of that. Sampson was tall. About 6' 4" and huge. Just the sight of him was enough to keep even the most enthusiastic of the bunch in line.

Soon her walk was done and she moved to the middle of the stage to give a few last shakes and shimmeys before the music died, she went into her last pose and the house lights dimmed.

Once the lights were completely down, she got to her feet and hurried off the stage, passing the next girl Sharon who was moving on for her performance. Sharon was a dark beauty and billed herself as Black Panther because her lithe movements so resembled a cat. She was a bar favorite.

Giving Sharon the thumbs up as they passed to let her know it was a good crowd, she moved back stage to the owner's voice on the speakers.

"That was Candi, gentlemen. Isnt she too sweet? Now lets welcome our next beauty. Black Panther." The calls and whistles grew louder as the music started again and Candi or Candice moved in between the racks of costumes to pull open the door of the dressing room.

To say the dressing room was small would be an understatement but the girls of HighPoint had gotten used to working around each other. Though the strip bar was not the most elaborate in the city, the owner-Jack-and Sampson took care to make sure the girls were safe and the customers stayed gentlemanly . The tips were good and the place was usually packed as it had a good reputation. Many of the girls had gotten offers to work in higher class bars but most turned it down because they were happy here.

Sinking onto one of the small chairs at the makeup table, Cindi removed the money that had been placed in her waistband and gave a quick count. Not bad. The customers had apparently liked her show.

Moving around the other four girls in the dressing room, she pulled on her bra, t shirt and jeans. Stashing her money in her jeans pocket she sat down again to pull on her comfortable sneakers. Her feet were killing her and all she wanted right now was a long soak in a hot tub.

As she was gathering her stuff to leave, Sharon came back into the dressing room, her face showing that she once again had pleased the men and gotten rewarded for it.

"Good crowd tonight," She said as she sat down to rest. Sharon had one more set to do before going home. "You going? I'm sure Jack wouldnt mind if you did an extra set since Nadia had to call in sick."

Candi shook her head and stood up, gathering her things. "Gotta get some sleep," She said with a smile at her friend,"I got to teach a class tomorrow."

Sharon shook her head and laughed. "Girl, where you get the energy to stay up late at night and then get up early to teach your classes, I dont know. I dont suppose you are getting paid this time?" Sharon knew that Candi taught self defense classes mostly on a volunteer basis for those kids in underprivelaged situations.

"No, nevermind, of course you arent. If I had that much energy I could go another five sets without wearing out," She added.

Candi chuckled. "If you went another five sets, girl, you would have many more men going home broke to their wives. Its a good thing that you are old and weak."

She ducked out the door as the pillow Sharon sent flying hit it. The sound of her friend's laughter followed her out into the cool night.

As Candy walks along the sidewalk, the stars fill the sky with light though the moon is only in it's half phase. The Neon of the city fights with the natural lights for dominance but it seems that the distant stars just might be winning tonight.

There is almost and air of expectancy in the air.

Glancing up, Candy sees a billboard blocking the twinkling sky diamonds and she, at first, does not take notice of the more than familiar sight. She is shocked into doing a double take however when she realizes that the billboard which should carry and ad for a local hospital now reads:

"THE QUEST OF YOUR LIFETIMES COMES ON SWIFT WINGS."

The next thing Candy knows is that a policeman is standing in front of her saying,"Miss, I asked you for your ID. And I think I'd like you to dump out your purse and any other bags you are carrying."

She blinks and looks at the officer. He was not there a few seconds ago when she had glanced at the billboard. A few seconds? Looking at the clock on the side of the bank building to her right, Candy realizes that it has been twenty minutes instead of the few seconds she had thought.

She has the feeling that something monumental has occured but she is not sure just what.
