Can anyone contact Perdita?

Sighs of relief

Just to let everyone know, as I have on the other thread.

I've had mail from Perdita this morning.

She has booked into her hotel and (I'm guessing) is at the moment ensconced somewhere cosy with Fifty5 enjoying a belated Yorkshire welcome.

Once it is established that Perdita is where she should be and in contact with Eff, I suggest that we delete some of the posts in this thread and the other one that offer suggestions about her whereabouts.

It appears to have been a simple mix-up.

I am looking forward to the 4th.

I'm still slighty concerned until we have heard from Perdita or Eff directly, perhaps after they have shared a few pints of the local brew.

I, for one, would like to see closure on this from Perdita. It has been very worrisome. I am glad to hear that Perdita seems to be OK.

thanks Gauche, thanks so very much.

It's OK!

Perdy's downstairs drinking tea and chatting with the girls.

It turned out that she flew Air France, via Paris, while I met the British Airways direct flight from Venice. She arrived at Terminal 2, while I was waiting at Terminal 3.

We've promised each other that next time, she'll tell me the flight number and I'll give her my phone number - before hand!

She managed to make her own way to Howarth - and the guest house managed to squeeze her in. It's a 'no smoking' establishment, so at 2 am Perdy was sitting in the rain outside having a smoke - and finally starting to relax...

All's well that ends well, but speaking for Perdy as well as myself, thanks so much for all the good wishes and offers of help from you lot.

The list of trivia that kept us apart is far too long to list. The latest is that Gauche rang the B&B and left his number, but the guy who took the call wrote the number down wrong. (We did try to ring straight back, Gauche, but you'll have to ring us.)

Thanks again, every one - the panic is over.

Like everyone else, I'm delighted to hear P is safe and sound.

Give her my love, welcome her to England- belatedly, and looking forward to seeing her on Monday. I hope to god my journey up is a lot more boring than hers !!!

Oh and also add.......dinner's on me Monday evening. Where we'll eat, I have no idea, but I'm sure we'll find somewhere, and with the car, we can go further afield.

Scotland Yard would be pleased with your efforts to reveal Perdys where abouts.

Good thing she is safe and sound and now enjoying her trip.

Have fun Perdy!

Is it a gorgeous connected up old world or what? The notion of Perdita being lost was too awful to contemplate, I'm happy you're all together but envious! Have a great time, can't wait to hear the tales....:)

First thing was to take her up to Ilkley moor (and sing her the song) before the daylight faded.

Shudda been mid-afternoon, but then the sun went behind a cloud bank...

Seems she's fallen in love with part of the world, just like me (but I'm still jealous of the California sun...)

so glad all's well up there, and darling purdy's ok and enjoying herself... and it is a lovely part of the world up that end of the country i used to love visiting my old auntie years ago on the train... i think the name of the station we got off at was sowerby bridge, or some such... then it was a car ride to auntie's place in the hills... i was very young then though, it's probably changed a fair bit... used to be a mill right next door to her house, a real working one back then... probably a wine bar now:rolleyes:

have fun you bunch and a happy new year to all of you... my other half sends his love as well... we're off in the morning to devon, should have gone today but there was a hold up... so while you're all off up that end, we'll be going the other way.

have fun purdy honey, and sorry we couldn't make it, it couldn't be helped love:kiss:

So glad to hear 'Dita is safe and sound!

'Dita, We WILL exchange cel numbers before the possible and expected meetup for the Old Globe this summer!

So very glad that I wasn't here for this thread. Was getting steadily more worried as I read down - God only knows what I'd have been like if I'd been reading it in real-time.

Have fun Pear.

Like everyone else, I'm relieved at the good news. But this experience proves once again that if we AH'ers were in charge of D-Day, there's a reasonable chance the Germans might still be running things in France. :)

It's just the mention of sex or the writing of such that leaves us so disorganized.

But I suppose it does also happen when we amicably discuss politics or religion or our separate nationalistic ideals.

And it does sneak in when family, children, holiday and work issues thread up.

And it's quite noticeable on the fun and flirty and sometimes filthy threads.

And then the infrequent writing discussion has us scrabbling for ideas and suggestions in great furor.

Aw, fuck.

We are screwed. ;)
